Still off off work, so having yet another lazy day...getting to be a bit to much of a habit.

    Pleasures today

    1. Updated planner with 20, 20’s in 2020, planning on updating on here monthly.
    2. Meal plan (runs Saturday to Friday) done ready for tomorrow’s shopping trip.
    3. Finally watched Dr. Who
    4. Nice walk around the park for me, the pooches and DD3. Lovely to see so many people out and about in what was for us a bright and sunny day.
    5. Now for a nice cup of tea and a few more chapters of my book.

DFV thank you for taking time to post, thoughts are with you.

Mhags lovely of your daughter offering to help those trying to contact people in Australia, so very sad for everyone affected . The images on the news are horrific, never seen anything like it, it must be absolutely devastating for families, communities and wildlife.

DfV - so sorry, only just seen this - please ignore my query about New Year on the Prepping thread, I hadn't heard. My thoughts are with you, and every good wish for strength at this difficult time.

Hello. What a weather filled day. We’ve had sun, blue sky, rain, wind, sleet, repeat times often!

Was down at the allotment just after 9am. Or I wouldn’t have gone. My third bed has been dug over. Started on the community herb bed. Someone just went over it all with the strimmer at end of last season so it’s in dire need of a tidy. Making that my job! Rescued some foxglove seed pods for my garden .

Haggis as usual living his best life down there. Gates are locked so he can’t get out and I can hear if anyone else is coming in. In and out the trees, thankfully not in the pond today.

Home and met a friend so ended up walking with her, was blooming freezing by this point . Good catch up.

Then had to drop off DD2 and her friend. She’s been a pleasure to have stay but oh my goodness they’re noisy! So much to chat about.

Nipped into T for a few things and met two separate friends so had 2 separate chats with them. Nice to see them both.

Then had to go to the mothers to take her to the hairdressers. Then she wanted to go to Asda. Holy moly! Took forever...I got soaked going back to car...you wait here and I’ll drive right round a blooming carpark in pelting rain ! Dropped her at home, put shopping away and ran!

Home. Hello doggy. I’ve missed you. I’d kind of hoped for a day at home just him and I. Anyway we are all snuggled up just now.

DD2 text...can you pick me up at bus stop? It’s raining, my hips hurt...sigh!

Not quite sure what dinner going to be. ’twas so much easier being a carnivore! I bought Rtc bagels so I’m thinking some kind of pizza-esque creation with home made coleslaw and salad and potato skins.

I may have bought very Rtc mince pies. Last ones. Honest!

Hope you’ve all had a good day x

DFV hugs sent your way x

DD I was indeed a Broons/ Oor Wullie lass! We used to get the Sunday Post delivered on a Sunday ( the only paper delivered) and I would always dash downstairs to get it first . I would read them first then the rest of the paper! And my granny always bought us the annual for Christmas which came out alternating years. The Broons one year and then Oor wullie and I would have had it read by Christmas night.

DfV - only just caught up on your sad news. Thoughts are with you.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Been thinking of the whole D for V family all through the day, hoping they are collectively able to cope with the suddenness of their loss by being there for each other and taking some small comfort from all our love being sent them.

I’m going to add an extra pleasure of my dinner. I’m doing a vegetarian January. Would have said I already ate a lot of veg and not too much meat however now there is no meat allowed (self imposed but I do like a challenge) and don’t particularly want to buy meat substitutes.

So I bought some Rtc seeded bagels. Saut!ed onion, courgette, peppers , hid sprouts , mushrooms added some herbs and spice and garlic. Spread some tomato pur!e on bagel, topped with veg and some grated cheese. 5 minutes in the oven. Fabulous ! With salad , potato wedges and coleslaw . All made in the time it would normally take for Friday nights takeaway to be delivered.

I now deserve that mince pie!
