He was v upset during the morning but ok when all 5 grandkids were here and we got a good photo of him with them.
Pleasures 1_ 5 he made it and watched them all and enjoyed seeing them0 -
Happy birthday to Sue’s OH
What a ghastly day weather wise. Continual rain and wind and general yukkieness.
Morning spent tidying and laundering and trying to find space for washing to dry.
Son took old bed to recycling centre. Daughter drove to supermarket for a few things for me.
Had friends coming over for an afternoon of mince pie making. Made cupcakes and they decorated them. Was nice sat round table chatting .
One friend stayed a bit longer and we sat and chatted.
Haggis had a very big walk. So he wasn’t around for the mince pie bit ( he got home from vet hospital two years ago today after being on a drip for 48 hours having ingested mince pies!)
I’ve just ordered pizza with a 50% off code. Shall go and wash dishes whilst I wait.
Bathrooms and floors all washed, normally Monday jobs but have a busy week ahead.0 -
A very happy birthday to Mr SuffolkSue.
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in - hoorah!
2) Both sons stomach bugs over.
3) Hens OK.
4) Had a tidy and cleaned the bathroom, hoovered then steamed all the floors upstairs (lino in the bathroom, boards everywhere else).
5) A funny afternoon! Went to Sainsburys and got on a roll seeing just the right books for people's Christmas presents. Went to the checkout and there was Tom Watson (MP) ahead of me in the queue (not unlikely, as he is local and went to the same high school as smaller son).
I had pointed out to bigger son that "that looks like Tom Watson" and stood queueing when I noticed that TW was looking intently at my shopping. He suddenly leaned over and said, "Good book, that" and it turns out his friend wrote it! I said it was for my dad and he said he'd tell his friend it was being bought in Sainsburys! I then asked if he was TW and said I follow him on Instagram and that he always posted pictures of where he'd visited at weekends and that I had always missed him by an hour or so!
6) Roast for dinner.
7) Phoned my school friend.
8) Watched I'm a Celebrity with smaller son.
9) Bigger son has gone out as he is preparing his Christmas present to smaller son. This is all very exciting as he hasn't really bought presents before and he is really enjoying it.0 -
party was super last night. the friend celebrating 50 years (half a tunner, still a stunner) is one of the loveliest people i know. didn't set the alarm but
1) woke in time for morning service then point of view - archie and mehitabel! my ex is the only other person i've met who has read them (apart from my mum who introduced them to me).
2) ye gods it was wet this morning. so my first mse pleasure is my raincoat, boots and umbrella which got me to church not too wet
3) a fab service. John Bell preached, a friend's miracle baby christened, fund raising by students after with a yummy bake. i said hi and belated birthday greetings to john then remembered to me he's an old friend cos i hear him on radio 4 but he has no idea who i am. he said of course he knows who i am cos he can see me through the radio lol.
4) home for decorator who didn't show despite my having phoned him when he was 15 minutes late and him saying he'd be here in 15 mins, so hope all ok with him. mse pleasure is i practised the piano, had some lunch then, having sent decorator a message, fast walked to invergowrie for
5) amazing concert - Bach cello in g major then violin patita in 2 minor from a husband wife professional couple in my old church, followed by mulled wine and chatting to friends then
6) unexpected invitation for supper from friend i'd lost touch with. our girls used to do scottish dancing at primary together. they'd invited the musicians too - turns out the husband played in the bbc symphony with my brother in law. small world! anyway, lovely lovely evening then walked home to an almost full moon.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Belated birthday wishes to MrSuffolkSue
Sunday pleasures,
Another rough night ( it tends to comes in cycles ) so up during early hours, listening to the wind howling around the cottage and drinking herbal tea, pleasure was my little friend who snuggles up close and makes her Mum feel better.
Out to brunch with youngest DSS and his gf, they are both in final year at Uni and gearing up for dissertations, good to catch up on their lives and make plans for future get togethers.
Downloaded what we thought was Archers omnibus but we somehow just ended up with Jill Archer making mince pies, slow radio!?
Long walk with small dog, bitter wind so stinging cheeks and runny eyes. Always remember two tennis balls as her retrieve is excellent but is reluctant to do the leave bit, throwing another ball means an auto drop.
The last bit of light in the sky and a moon rising on opposite horizon, starry night.0 -
BoP is at the MFA this morning. Caught the E tram.
Will be inn the Bell in Hand fir the Goooners later.
Art was purchased last day.
More later.0 -

My Tiggy is like that although she never gives up the ball in her mouth. It's the terrier in her. My Murphy would do what yours does. Would drop the ball if there was another one to be thrown. However, I could always make him drop his catch. He was a really gentle soul. Tiggy notsomuch :rotfl:
Still looking for a copy of Black Beauty. My niece has just read it because my Mum wants her to read some classics. Want to discuss the book with her.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

Bedtime.
Out early this morning. Quick doggy walk. Cold and frosty. Had to scrape car but what a beautiful day it turned out to be (before the storms arrive)
Went to a local charity to do wrapping for them. Had a lovely morning & met some lovely people.
Was going to go on into town but I didn’t. Was going to nip into supermarket but I didn’t. Such restraint
Came home and went a lovely walk with the dog. Took my secateurs to forage some ivy.
Watched another Christmas movie in between doing other things!
Chat with sister on phone.
Had slow cooked beef and Rtc 20p sausages and made a steak pie with leftover from work potatoes and veg.
Made myself some mince pies with leftover pastry & the little bit left in the jar. Yummy.0 -
Well, my mum and nieces surprised me again yesterday so we went to charity shops.
We all bought a little something but I was lucky enough to spy a trench style coat. £7.99 and it looks brand new. It said size 6 but I am at least an 18….... I just took no notice and tried it on. Perfect fit !
Went to my local greengrocer today . a young couple bought it about a year ago so I try to support them. They have started selling milk in GLASS bottles. I was overjoyed as I am flipping fed up with all the plastic I have to get rid of. You cannot get a milkman around here for love nor money. Neither could they but they persevered and found a contact in Covent Garden veg market. And I can return the bottles to them.
I really love trotting about with my trolley, people seem to want to chat more. It must make me seem something that I am not, when without it. A bit like how so many more people want to stroke Tiggy when she is wearing her pink coat. Anyway.......

Pleasures for today (Monday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Postal vote work today. We only all see each other a few mornings a year, but soon catch up again!
3) Hens OK.
4) Finished all the crochet wreaths! 30 in total, complete with "holly" beads now.
5) Wrapped my niece's Christmas presents and wrote her name out slowly and carefully on the tags so she can read it (she is 4). Then realised I had gone on to write my sister and brother in law's names out in the same painstaking printing!
6) Watched 24 Hours in A and E.0
