Glad that Tiggy is ( relatively ) ok BBB what a relief, as a once owner of a much loved choccie labrador I’m with you on disinfectant, as is Mhags I’m sure!
With you on this thread DD, good place to be.

    Tuesday pleasures,

Went to make the cake and remembered that I hadn’t soaked the fruits so added copious amounts of brandy and left them to it.

Trip out to post office to send off return, trying to avoid the mud on road left by the sugar beet tractors. Also nursery for bird food and village store.

Satisfied my baking need by making bread, a half & half loaf and despite my best intentions a crust was cut off whilst still slightly warm and snaffled for a mid-afternoon snack.

A cold glass of wine with my evening meal, waste not etc and the bottle was open anyway ;)

Watched Only Connect and managed several answers, perhaps direct relation to the above!

See if I can scrabble together 5 as it’s been my long (very long) day at work. Day one!

Up early though had seemed to have slept right through the night which was novel.

Messaging a friend in Oz back and fro.

Walk to work. Was blooming freezing.

Work was okay . A friend was in so had a chance to chat for 5 minutes.

Busy enough without being too busy. And only one more day to go!

DD2 picked me up and drove me home ( though I was looking forward to the walk home)

Had fun this afternoon positioning the elf on the shelf in a variety of situations for work photos.

Home with baked potatoes which will do son for tea and then into freezer quartered for roasties.

Hello doggy! Lovely to see you. I miss you when I’m working a full day.
  • 1 Had to run a few errands, so popped into Lidl and snaffled a turkey and bag of sprouts now safely in the freezer.
2 Tidied up the garden, 3 big bags of leaves, I had an amazing amount of animal help with it all.
3 Hmm dinner turned from healthy eating, to the kitchen has a leak, to right I’ll do an oven meal, to I’ve ordered in using a voucher to a local takeaway which is our cheapest that now knows our order so well I don’t need to give our address! :o
4 Sleepy, looking forward to soaking in the bath later.
5 DH wants to order carpet – at last, it’s only been up since 2011, looks like the last of the floorboards was replaced today, now for a cheap, hard wearing pet friendly carpet, that sounds impossible.

    4) walked the boys up to mum's. good blether (another good word mhags
    5) then home to make biryani. yum. though slightly stuck to the bottom of the pan as went off to play the piano and may have spent a bit longer than i meant.
now catching up with motherland, then walked the (currently snoring) dogs then bed yay

    Hi :)
Can’t sleep (not a pleasure:() so am catching up on the thread.
    Some from the last few days;
    - A lovely city break with family - good, quality time together
    - Treated myself to a new book (The Book of Dust) and bought it in book form rather than e-reader; what a pleasure it is to hold a real, physical book now and again!
    - cuddles with doggle when we returned home and collected him from my parents’
    - Tea! Good, hot and strong!
    - Having nothing in particular to go out for when the rain was hammering down

    Wednesday pleasures,

Was up during the night with bad head and then woke with a start when train sounded horn, good job it did as had switched off alarm!

Dropped Capt S off at rail station as he was off on a rugby jolly, drove straight to the yard through fenland, big skies and dark earth.

The beautiful grey one was in a very affectionate mood so loads of cuddles.

Made my cake and the house smelt wonderful for the rest of the day.

Seeing a crowd of people coming out of the train station and knowing that my favourite person was one of them.
  • So very very grateful for washing machines. It has been on all night washing sheets, doggy towels, old duvets as Tiggy has not stopped leaking.

Ditto for showers. She has had 8 or 9 in the last 24 hours. The last one she asked me for which was a complete shock as I normally struggle to get her in the bath. She is very sore from all the acid and I daren't put anything on it.

Grateful for vets ,........ Am phoning them as soon as it hits 8.30....

Pleasure as always for a good cup of tea.... Or 5 !

    Have a lovely day
AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

According to a lovely poster I am Bala the Brave who wrestled a Tiger.  You know who you are.....

    I HAVE A GOLD STAR and A MEDAL and a Title !
  • Hope Tiggy is ok BBB

You're on the ball Frith with the xmas red cabbage!

Pleasures for the last couple of days:
    • Our NHS is amazing. Had to use a+e to get something checked out and was seen quickly by lovely people.
    • Spent a couple of evenings knitting
    • Found out why my knitting was going wrong (I had misread the sleeve pattern so instead of increasing at each end of every fourth row I had increased at one end only. Cue lopsided sleeve).
    • Work is very quiet.
    • Got a pack of coffee for £1 instead of £3.50 on Shopmium. It's delicious.
    • Finished my book and now onto the next in the series
    • Little Miss Fluffy getting very brave now. Downstairs all the time now and curling up in MILs room.
    • Done quite a bit of xmas shopping.
