DfV rest assured, he plods about in them, the worst it get is ferrets checking that, that’s not what’s going to happen to them is it…:o
BBB, Welcome aboard, I can bore people silly with lots of ferret anecdotes, glad to have an audience.
A terrible night last night, our ferret with “a big heart” had issues, we held him, calmed him, and he relaxed down, this morning as soon as our vets was open we were there but forgot that Saturday means an hours’ worth of quing in traffic. He belayed our fears and said we are doing the right thing calming we reviewed the meds again, and it’s a case of enjoy him while we can. He’s such a character, he plays by wandering up to you tapping you on the foot, and then rolling over showing his belly.:rotfl:
Walked upstairs from that and the carpet was wet, traced back to the radiator that DH tried to tighten that promptly made it a lot worse at 2am, he was able to drain it down and we had no heating hot water for the night
For yesterday
1 For the first time this year, there was a celebratory baileys and ice, it was lovely.
2 We called in at Mr T for a pot of sauce, and left with £12 worth of rtc’s ops.
3 In clearing the freezer I found last Christmas’s gravy, and some rtc turkey I put it with rice and veg and created a one pot.
4 I was house hunting again and it motivated me to clear out more stuff, another 4 boxes of very old bill stuff shredded or recycled.
5 I put pen to paper and scribbled some ideas down.
For today
1 The little ferret is feeling special.
2 Our 1 pound, whole chicken cooked through with chips and salad, voila a Nando’s and of course curry tomorrow etc.
3 While DH worked on the heating I cleaned out the display cabinet in the hallway, I’m not sure how it was so mucky inside and out, but it’s done now, and I let the tarantula spider stay it does a great job, it just had numerous years of cobwebs I cleaned up. Added polish to all the nick naks.
4 A slice of chocolate cake with a cuppa, hygge.
5 Sitting in the warm, watching a festive film, oh and there's heating and hot water tonight.0 -
Thinking of you Sue

- Spending the afternoon snuffling some charity shops with DH
- Finding a nearly new thick jersey skirt by Seasalt for £3 (it was nearly £50 new )
- Also found a new copy of Edward Rutherford's The Forest for 50p, which I've wanted to read for a ages.
- Poached eggs on toast for breakfast
- Hot shower
- Had our own homegrown sausages last night.
- Did some xmas shopping in morrisons and managed to split the basket so i could use 2 x 1500 points vouchers + various bonus points to add to my existing ones. I now have another £5 off voucher to spend.

Pleasures today -
Leisurely lie in, pouring with rain outside and no need to go rushing anywhere.
Dog chasing ball in the pouring rain, always enthusiastic.
Late breakfast of porridge with a hint of cinnamon and syrup.
Washed round the kitchen with essential oils of peppermint and frankincense in the water. All looking clean and bright, and smelling fresher.
Slow cooker French style beef stew served with potatoes and kale, good home cooked food for dismal days.
Strictly on the telly, my guilty pleasure for a Saturday night. One life - your life - live it!0 -
Hello. Just in from our works night out. Went to a very posh place and it was very nice and all expenses paid
Day off no 2.
Rubbish sleep so was happy to just get up.
Popped into town. My favourite florist was hosting a special event. Lovely posy of flowers. Also a voucher for coffee which I gave to a homeless chap. Went in & got it for him.
Listened to two young girl buskers. They were both fab.
A mooch round charity shops...an outfit for tonight purchased for about a fiver! And a I don’t need but isn’t it lovely Christmas decoration.
Home. And decorator was doing the last coat of gloss. Done!
Son (bit grudgingly but did help) and I humphed furniture out one set of patio doors and in the other (twice) . Mirror back up & curtains/rail back up.
Mini pamper session with a foot moisturising sock thingy and under eye gel patches.
Out for night.0 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) Terrible sleep then fell asleep at about 7.30am and woke up very late!
2) Did various jobs then cleaned the bathroom.
3) Hens OK.
4) Went out into the driving rain to buy more hen food.
5) Bigger son worked at Halfords then went to games night with my brother and brother in law.
6) Watched Strictly and I'm a Celebrity.
7) A small museum now has a Documentation Procedural Manual, a Loans Policy, a Collections Development Policy and an Acquisition and Disposal Policy - it doesn't know it yet as I've just finished writing them!0 -
Saturday pleasures,
A good night’s sleep including a lie-in to 8.30.
A leisurely breakfast in my PJ’s.
Made bread but nothing much else done apart watching the footie scores coming in and drinking tea.
DSIL and her partner arrived for a stop over, we went out for a meal in a nearby pub/restaurant that I’ve been wanting to try for ages, It was packed and can see why as the food was very tasty, I especially liked my starter of salt & pepper fried squid with chilli sauce, yum!
We sat up with night caps chatting away and then realised it was 1am!0
