-
1 More things unpacked to the kitchen, and a big bag of things now going to a CS.
2 We pondered around a local town relaxing before a jab.
3 A pleasure to be able to get the flu jab and its over, nervous of needles.
4 A small shop this week from A1di.
5 Just watching Darker moments, not sure about it at the mo. Feels like I must be the only one.0 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Took bigger son to an interview at the local day centre for homeless people. He will work in their clothing shop every Wednesday (where people can go to choose a new outfit).
4) I looked round the city while he was there but found nothing in the charity shop apart from some more curtain rings for crochet projects!
5) Had a cup of tea in Waitrose (with bigger son) then went to Hobbycraft (bought nothing) then Lidl.
6) Bigger son went to work and smaller son and I went to carpet town to have a look round then up to watch the football. Still cold!
7) Am going to bed with 1 hwb in a minute to thaw out and watch Holby City.
I haven't got in touch with the college job yet and I think my apathy should be telling me something. I also need to firm up the other 2 jobs so a couple of phone calls needed tomorrow.0 -

Good morning. Still dark with just a hint of day peaking through.
It seems I have another day off! Hmmm! So the group message said “same shifts as last week?” and I realised that I’d been off last Wednesday ( having had the evening shifts cancelled) and asked yesterday am I in tomorrow ( as I’d just assumed I would be) and the well actually no, I think we’ll manage without you...well thanks and as I did extra hours catering at weekend I’ll be fine this week but hmmmmm...
Anyway I’m going to make the most of it!
Yesterday...was still feeling a tad emotional from my FaceTime of my old life.
Work was okay. Had a nice walk there and a nice walk back.
The niecelys came for tea, had bought RTC sausages and made mash with RTC spuds. Crusty bread and coleslaw. RTC spooky French fancies ( love FF) .Baby has just started on solids so it’s lovely that he joins in with tea. Banging his hand on the table for more.
We went to our local castle and country park where the light show is on. Picked up DD2 friend along the way and bought our own marshmallows and brought our own bamboo skewers ( was £2 for a skewer there) for toasting.
Was a lovely evening. Mostly dry though blooming cold , I had 2 jumpers on under my coat and look like a rhinoceros in the photos! I worked there last year and knew how cold it gets so was well wrapped up!
Had left Haggis and the radio on but he seemed fine when we’d got in. Quite a few fireworks going off. Our last dog was petrified with them. Ideally I wouldn’t have went out and left him alone but this was the night DD2 could get family perk tickets as she’s working there...though I wasn’t in on the perk!
Washing was out in line and just a bit damp. Today I seriously need to sort laundry, there’s piles of dry/ mid dry everywhere and then there will be more to wash today!
Went for my back massage, I really needed it . Feeling rather tender today but that should sort itself. Back in a fortnight ( was three weeks from last one which really felt like a week too long. )
Sun is rising. So I’m going to start my day and make the most of it. Have a lovely day whatever you’re up to.0 -
Tuesday pleasures,
My new log book arrived, goodness knows where the original went and when but good to have it sorted.
A damp, foggy start turned into warm sunshine by mid morning so gave my girlie a hot cloth and mane wash, no work as her muscles need to recover from physio the day before so grazed her in hand to let her dry off.
An owl hooted from trees next to paddocks, considering it was midday by then must have been one confused owl!
Trawled through all our music on Sonos and compiled two playlists, one upbeat for when doing housework and another more chilled, chuffed with myself as I’m hardly techie.
Watched Only Connect followed by ep1 of new ETTC, good fun.0 -
I can wait another year …
That was a nite out for mes birthday with BoPsie and no I was not inns me suit! Fish cakes were demolished and wobbleades were consumed.
All right now for the next one!
Now where was BoP. Ah at the mill with three cakes of Jaffa this day!
As usual and without some fancy being told to do so by some net wizard, BoP has decided to reshape his furs. His goatie is getting bigger, used to be closed shave, not any more. BoPsie has lost her conditioner and is now inns my shower. We has too bathrooms inn BoP Palais.
Well pleased withs me new watch. Ticking along, and me magazine for me birthday.
Down inn the gym this nite, as I need to check the puppy fat from yesterday and be beach ready for trip over the ogin. More soon! Then it will be stove chilli finale. Well brewed now.
Bit shorts on Lunch Bites this day!

Ah, forgot it was your birthday - happy belated birthday, BoP
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Finished a chapter - again...
2. soup and more soup for my 5:2 day - harder than usual today
3. lit some candles to improve warmth in my office. Worked for a bit, but then the heating kicked in:T
4. Drove up the motorway so that DD could drive back in the dark as she's never done it before and needs to next week. She was ok although a tad too close to the car in front
5. Dublin murders, fairly satisfactory ending, I thought.
Have a good evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Yes, after the initial confusion of Dublin Murders ( like have I missed a previous series?) I enjoyed the ending and felt it tidied up most of the loose ends.
Well it’s dark and wet and rather cool. Heating on and candles on and dare i say laundry under control? Until tomorrow...
Up early but came back to bed anf may have dozed off and may have woken at 11am ! Which is shockingly shocking!
Out in garden for a little while. Leaves picked up and sweet peas pulled out. An excellent 29p spend!
We used to have Post Offices all over the place here including 2 in our locale but not any more. Drove over to the PO near where my in-laws lived which felt a bit odd that they’re not there to pop in and see. Posted DD1 birthday stuff off and I hope it gets there in time. Need to send her Christmas stuff off soon too. ( Maybe once I recover from how much this morning cost me! Would be easier to just send cash but I think it’s nice that she has somethings to open as we won’t see her this year ( sobs at the very thought:()
Hoovered again, washed floors again, folded hundreds of laundry .
Decorating chap came to give me a quote for much decorating! Basically all downstairs. His rough quote was kind of what I was expecting.
We are having takeaway for tea. But first I need to Hoover my bedroom !
Have a nice night.0 -
Happy Birthday BOP. I hope there was cake.
1 We travelled to meet with the jeweller who made our wedding rings, 14 years ago, and she’s making the burgled replacement, a really lovely Scottish family
2 As we were somewhere new, we travelled to the park and ride, what a bargain a whole 2.50 for the day total for the 2 of us.
3 We ambled around CS’s, and stopped at a book shop with the best caf! for a toastie and drink for lunch, it really is a hidden gem.
4 Fish and chips for dinner.
5 Stopped back via the jet wash to clean DH’s car up for it’s MOT tomorrow. As it was at Mr T, called in for a book, some RTC cheese and a chat with our usual check out lady.0 -
