Return to the garden centre we found the Oreo childs penguin hat in to hope they had still got another one in the sale for the Zebra child.....and they did so all is balanced again.
Coffee out, always a pleasure.
Found some snowflake stencils in the sale too for 50p so I got one for each set of grandpickles to decorate their bedroom windows at Christmas.
Cracking good game of rugby between Japan and Ireland that we watched over lunch, we were shouting for both sides at a couple of points, we're so enjoying the World Cup.
Reduced Cornish Pasties from the Co Op with our bubble and squeak for lunch, with lashings of Daddies Sauce, fantastic!0 -
1. My new work steelies are so comfy I can walk the four miles to work in them.
2. Pork Balti bubbling away to have with Aldi's naan bread and micro rice for a Saturday "fakeaway"
3. Made up a bowl of strong coffee (we were given it in a hamper and aren't keen on the flavoured stuff) and my faded black jeans are soaking in it.
4. Rescue dove is getting stronger every day and is now flying about and perching properly (as best as his wee broken toes can manage). :T:T:T:T:T:T:T
5. Looking forward to tomorrow as we are going to a charity car boot sale and on the way home we will pop into the historic ironworks in the next village. We have Historic Scotland cards and I'll take flasks so should be a cheap and fun day :-)0 -
Aw zaxdog that's lovely news about the dove. For me, in no particular order

3) mum and i decided we wouldn't pay 70p for little pot of jam. imagine my mse pleasure when i found 2 half used on the table next to ours and another half used on the next table with half a tub of clotted cream :P
4) mr t on the way home. needed new knickers and tights - delighted to find 20% off this weekend. OK only £1.70 saved, but every little helps

Pleasures for today....lounging in bed until 14:00 as I have been on nights two nights in a row.
Freshly ground coffee as I pottered around tidying uo in the kitchen.
The scent of rose, geranium and frankincense essential oils used in damp dusting and vacuuming the living room.
Clean sheets on the bed tonight. The cat threw up on my bed whilst I was at work last night.
Relaxing at home now, knowing my next shift isn't until next Friday. One life - your life - live it!0 -
1 Popped out and ran a couple of errands, picking up a prescription, and Screwfix for kitchen bits.
2 Hoovered the whole house and then vaxxed any carpets I could get to as the animals have been a bit poorly this week.
3 Looking forward to tea, we picked up Indian spiced burgers rtc and they smell amazing cooking away at the moment, with some chicken bits and garlic bread.
4 I’ve got an interview next week, I am really happy and also a bit nervous I don’t deny.
5 I saw the property auction I was interested in and the couple we were interested in went far far higher than we expected, it’s good to learn.
For today
1 More kitchen bits done, I grouted more tiles, DH cut cabinet sides to size
2 We shared a box of matchmakers.
3 Left over takeaway from during the week was plenty of dinner for 2 more dinners tonight.
4 Ferrets inspecting our kitchen work.
5 Bathroom cabinets clean inside and out and meds all updated cause I felt like it.0 -
Hello. Bedtime. Last day off. Have set alarm for tomorrow morning.
Pottered around this morning, sorting dining room. ‘Autumn-ising’ it. A little pile of stuff decluttered. Niece has since taken it, hurrah.
Washing out and back in later just a bit damp. Have just put heating on for a whole 20 minutes to finish it off. At least there’s residual heat left in radiator...unlike floor vented heating in Melbourne.
Niece and baby came a visiting and we had a lovely afternoon. Went to our castle, had a baked potato for lunch ( May have had a yummy piece of carrot cake) and a huge walk up and down many a hill pushing the pram. A workout indeed! Baby is just delicious and at such a lovely stage ( when he’s happy which he was all afternoon) GN was busy at a friends so it was nice just having baby time.
Went to see OH’s tree. His name is now up on the memorial board so that made me cry. I’m finding things tough just now. Just miss him so much and the knowing that it’s forever is so hard. Anyway, clambered over to see his tree, to give it a pat and say hello to it.
Then we decided to walk to the allotment more hills up and down. I have three more pumpkins growing ...they’ve had plenty rain this past week.
Then we walked back up and down yonder hill! Worked off that cake.
They left and I went out in the garden for a bit. Pottered, weeded, sighed at slug damage.
Walked up to get DD2 after work.
She went out gallivanting so goodness knows when she’ll be in.
Friend called ( whilst strictly was on!) but had a nice chat.
Blooming dog has just vomited ( on my lovely Laura Ashley rug) grrrrr! Stop eating socks!0 -
Hugs, Mhags. So hard for you
Been AWOL again... pleasures for the last whenever
1. My draft is getting more complete - big deadline on TUesday, have to submit a full draft
2. Finally have some anti biotics that I am cautiously optimistic are starting to work.
3. Nice food while OH and DD were away. Using stuff up
4 they had a nice time in Disneyland and are back
5. DS had a mini crisis, that seemed major at the time. Seems better now.
Have a nice evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Saturday pleasures,
Another lie-in, bed so cosy and warm.
Eggs for breakfast with LO toasted soda bread whilst watching the rugby.
There was an open day over at the yard, watched a riding demo to music, won something in the raffle and chatted to various people. Also visited my girlie and grazed her in hand for a while, the summer paddocks are becoming a bit sparse so no doubt will be moved to winter ones soon.
Bit of a lazy afternoon reading, there was a little flurry of online surveys which kept me busy for a while.
It was pelting down for most of the evening so small dogs last visit outside was a very hurried affair, no wandering around the garden looking at the stars as usual but we do need the rain.0 -
For the past three days.
1. A lovely retirement lunch for a colleague who I know but don't work directly with. He was pleased and there was a lovely spread of food.
It was at a satellite clinic but no one from management came. He had been working for the organisation for well over 40 years.
2. Been told that a meeting will be arranged to discuss my appeal.'re flexible working. It's taken over 4 weeks for the email.to say a meeting is being organized.
3. Enjoyed walk to post office to pick up a parcel.. Did buy a loaf of bread and a bottle of local gin there for DH Christmas present.
4. Met a friend for coffee. Managed a piece of cake too.
5. Front garden is looking good with some colour as filled the pots with various plants including pansies which make me smile.0 -
Pleasures for yesterday (Saturday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Mum and dad's Golden Wedding anniversary lunch. First pleasure was getting both sons there!
3) Saw Dad's best man standing on the footbridge just down from the pub. He looked like he was just building himself up to go inside (a fair distance drive for him and I was aware he is widowed and his wife would be in a lot of the wedding photographs).
We went on to the bridge and he is an avid bird watcher so I mentioned the I had seen a kingfisher over the river there, some years before. As if on cue, a kingfisher appeared, swooped and dived, hoovered over the water, went under the bridge then perched on a branch watching us for ages!
4) Smaller son managed to stay at a social function for 3 hours (helped by the steady supply of tasty food!)
5) Funny speeches.
6) Back home and had a good tidy up and watched Strictly then Casualty.
Bigger son's birthday today so a busy day ahead.0
