Welcome home Mhags and Haggis.
Thursday pleasures,
Still felt woozy after migraine so quiet morning in the kitchen, made soda bread, mincemeat flapjacks ( snap Frith ) and baked a couple of spuds for tea whilst the oven was on.
Over to see beautiful grey one, didn’t ride as per above, proved correct decision as she was on her toes but lunged her with loads of transitions to get her horsey brain in gear. Eventually she relaxed, released her tight neck and softened her back, good girlie.
Grazed her in hand for a while, warm sun on our backs and just the birds for company.
Home, bit of housework then read my book whilst enjoying tea & flapjack.
Capt S had late meeting so small dog walk was just the two of us, she chased our resident squirrel up a tree and then stood at the bottom grinning up at it.
Tea was chill and baked potato, Autumn has definitely reached the kitchen.0 -
I should be used to it now. Mes bee inn nice to all and to think on Monday I delivered the hob nobs with chocolate and the shortcakes of fruit to the mill!
On Tuesday I scooped up BoPsie, who has crash banged and walloped since! More later.
Fed and given treats to Raffles.
No one gives a flying monkey for BoP?
Oh, BoPsie! This very morn there was another bang and crash. She tried blaming Raffles, he was snoozed on BoP’s bed! No, the tin of Raffles Treats was up ended by BoPsie! She is too noisy I cans tells you!
Now haws many hats has BoP got. Too many from Dr. BoP to …
Has me scrambles eggs this morning with salmon. Proper for you!
Back at work, at the mill. Will be up Norff next weak again. Checking Whippets!
PM2DD We got the goal of the nite and a good payday! Now for the other tin pot!
OK here’s one to get yous thinking. She never did find Neville Braithwaite?
Rites, thirst again abouts me lunch box. Usual stuff and three cakes of Jaffa! They’ve gone already! As for me tossing, I did so on Wednesday nite with me pancakes. On flip and slide out. Nows as yous ares aware, BoP is a refined culinary expert. Did you knows that BoP uses stainless steel pans and has none of that carp non-stick stuff around! If you cooked in fat instead of the glycerine emulsion, yous would has the clean gleaming pans like BoP!
I see the bear pit has been bought back!0 -
Enjoyed full day with my friends.0

The lovely load of logs we've just had delivered that we'll stack tomorrow.
Celeriac and stilton soup for lunch, homemade and delicious.
Washing, drying and ironing all up to date.
Changing skies and sunshine and showers, never boring is it the british weather?
Faggots in a casserole for supper, greedy pleasures today I think but pleasures nonetheless!0 -
Hello. Oh it’s good to be home. Slept like a kind of log last night...good by my standards. Woke at 6am , managed to get a dry dog walk ( in fact all of them were in between the heavy showers. ) beautiful sunrise.
So it seems the cap of my oil doodah has been off and nestled in the bit between the bonnet and windscreen. I know I’m not very technical. So I’ve been driving around without it secure, was in for a service 2 weeks ago. There was an oily spill on the driveway this morning and I had been smelling an oily smell! Waaaaaah!
Anyway apart from that I’ve had a nice day. DD2 didn’t pass so another few weeks without buying a car!
Weird day weather.had heating on this morning to try and dry washing (and be warm) then doors wide open later as it warmed up once the sun came out.
Cleaned bathrooms. Gross children’s one! Children my backside they are both supposedly adult!
Re-jigged the downstairs loo. Changed pictures and bits and pieces. Now ‘ochre’ instead of grey. More autumnal.
Cleaned the front windows ( fed up waiting on window cleaner ) , washed front door and then was on a roll and washed the garage door!
Did a bit in the back garden. Bit of pruning, weeding and tidying up. A blooming cat has dug up one bed. Soil everywhere. The slugs have eaten my crysanthemums . Picked a bunch of sweet peas, gladioli ( the most stunning magenta colour) and a couple of sunflowers that had bent over.
Another bag worth of stuff for next charity collection.
Chat with neighbours. They are going to help me saw up single bed frame currently in garden ( bit steptoe and son! ) kept meaning to ask but they were on hols then I was!
Just had a takeaway for me . Son had been fed at work and daughter out with friend.
Haggis seems to be back to normal.
Had a should have went to spec savers moment...I may have bought 10 bottles of shave gel...not shower gel! Shall donate them as son doesn’t need ‘em and I ain’t going back to an island anytime soon!0 -

Pleasures for today (Friday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son went to work at the garage.
3) Torrential rain all day but managed to get out after lunch to feed the hens!
4) Tidied the house a bit and cleaned the bathroom.
5) Sorted out my voting envelopes so it is all organised for my next stints next week.
6) Chips for tea.
7) Bigger son had tea and a computer game session with my sister and brother in law, which cheered him up.
8) I emailed Manchester United after Thomas Cook went bust, about our match tickets. They emailed back saying Thomas Cook had not paid for them but they had set me up a fan account (!) and our tickets are reserved until 31st October if I would like to buy them. So all excitement in our house! I don't think we will try (or could afford!) to re-book the hotel but the train tickets were already paid for so we can still manage the match and a trip round the Christmas market.
Busy weekend coming up with my parents' Golden Wedding lunch tomorrow then bigger son's 19th birthday on Sunday.
Also measured smaller son officially (on the door frame) this morning - I had to stand on a chair so I could see. He is now the tallest person in the house.0 -
Early catch-up as I listen to Tonga being overrun by Argentina and more dubious refereeing, from Jaco Peyper this time.

Friday pleasures,
Capt S had a day off so mini lie-in and leisurely breakfast.
Despite the weather forecast we decided to go racing but dressed up warmly as it tends to blow a bit up at the Rowley Mile course.
Seeing the beautiful horses, many of which were real babies with no racing experience.
We shared a Powters hot dog and treated ourselves to a Mocca coffee despite the  prices. Not a sniff of a winner but I had a place on an each way bet, always remember not to bet what you can’t afford ( said in BOP’s voice )
What seemed like a mini tornado blew through the course at one point, luckily we were sheltered at the time but when we got home a number of biggish branches had come down off the beech trees and there were leaves everywhere.
Tired so Capt S did quick walk with small dog whilst I heated up LO chilli and we had a quiet evening at home.0 -
BoP is currently at JAM. He’s telling his war stories on the Tin Triangle. XM569. Pull up a chock.
More later.0
