    Evening from the island.

Another quiet day. Oddly I’ve woken up ( as in properly as lots of unsettled sleep as is my norm) at 7.10am for third day in a row. Quick walk in my jim jams over to park/ garden across the road.

We went out this morning . Had planned to go to a little beach but you needed to go over a wooden boardwalk/bridge and no way was Mr Haggis stepping on it. We then went back to the castle gardens and had a good half hour saunter through woodland and gardens. Beautiful in a drizzly kind of way.

Vet had said to resume gentle walks and let Haggis lead the pace so we headed back after half an hour of wandering.

Hung a washing out ( it had a further rinse from a downpour then brightened up and mostly dry.

    Snooze.

Went to beach and had a wander along sand. DD2 called so chatted with her.

Home to my dinner. Had Rtc potatoes, corn on cob and a mince pie. Stuffed.

Will be another lap round the park later then in for the night.
  • Glad Bopsie has been rescued, make sure she doesn't try to do too much too soon, the dust will still be there next week, it's very obliging like that!

Day with DD2 and the Oreo chid, oh my goodness, he is a poppet!

Trip to the botanical gardens 'to see the tadpoles Oma'...so we did.

Zebra child flying at school, having a ball too and comes home bouncing, fabulous stuff.

May be getting a visit from DD1 and the family tomorrow, chance for a cuddle with newest granddaughter.

The prospect of dropping into my bed this night, I'm so tired but so happy too.
  • glad you got some dry weather mhags it's rained all day here
    1) teaching all day. i love teaching :D
    2) had been thinking about contacting a member of the congregation i haven't seen since mrpiano leaving mid august. meeting at 5 and who should walk in but him. don't know which of us was the more surprised!
    3) after the meeting we caught the bus into town - pleased to say he approved of my wanting to sit front upstairs
    4) we had a drink in the pub opposite the cathedral and had a lovely chat
    5) then i went to vestry. very glad i got a lift home - still raining!
we won't mention the footie bop the-man-who-didn't-want-coffee supports Leicester, so perhaps i had a lucky escape!

1 After about 2 months our kettle blew the house fuse. okay so back in the box for a refund, but I ended up crying with laughter looking for a new kettle, reviews along the lines of “it boils water”. At the moment we have given in and will get a refund for the one we splashed out on and have purchased a £7 one from Asda. Which seems fine, well no actually better than the expensive one.
2 When in A$da picked up 3 pet fleeces reduced to 1.50 each which will be new bedding for the fuzzies.

3 In a bit of inspiration picked up MILs Christmas present as she is always the “what do we do” one.
4 I have lots of green tomatoes and have discovered a chutney recipe which sounds like that’s another Christmas chutney sorted.
5 Rather enjoying the comfort of Autumn thinking of risottos and stews as and when the kitchen is available.
  • 1. Waiting at the bus stop listening to conversation between a mum and her daughter.

    2. Seeing a small boy of about 4 walking along the road with an umbrella. Don't think I saw it above his head once despite his Mum 's best efforts.
It reminded me of a time in France when a boy was catching the water from a drain pipe with his umbrella while his Mum was talking.

    3. Work was frustrating but did hear that I should hear about my flexible working this week. I t did read that a decision would be made rather than a meeting.

    4. Had roast lamb which was good.

    5. Watched GBBO. Henry is still in. He is who I got in the sweepstakes at work.

Good to hear the Bopsie news.

    Tuesday pleasures,

Bread made, it makes the house smell so good.

My beloved had another day off so we had lunch out and then went to the pictures.

We saw the Downtown Abbey film, I love looking at the costumes and, of course, the lovely locations. Frothy in parts it was still good fun to watch.

Evening walk with small dog, after a day of sunshine and showers it stayed dry so we went around the fields which dog loved.

Brie and bread for tea whilst enjoying Bake Off.

    1) Looking out of the window and realising I'll be able to walk the dog more comfortably than yesterday.
    2) Painkillers working quite quickly (not being "possessed" by pain is more pleasurable than I could possibly describe).
    3) Knowing I'm going to be finishing tasks to welcome in Autumn (I love Autumn).
    4) Listened to "The Vamp" by Byron Gay https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-KwEoP3CsII It captivates & cheers me no end & I'm really keen to learn it.
    5) Sitting for breakfast with my husband before launching into our working days, it feels as though enjoying our home and hearth is the goal we've been working for. (comfort, home, contentment etc.).
  • So Wes has BoPsie at home @nd I is not at the mill. Working from home.

BoPsie had her normal sleep last eve. Then up. So BoP snoozed and snored always like normal. Sudden there’s a Bang, crash and wallop. Up, and rushed to retrieve the upturned BoPsie. No. Raffles has downed the stool in the kitchen. Raffles is ok, he’s licking his paws!

PM2DD Tin pot tonite. Bring it on.

    Be BoP inn in later.

    On with your day.

&'s desktop is as cranked as poss today, so after more bizarre bleughhh, small catch-up now.
Have just replaced all thanks and read that so-good news of lady bopsie, including Raffles loud celebrations.
Still here, but connectivity nil-ness has made for large-scale incommunicado, plus asb situ worsened. Returned from extra CS day yesterday - v.v.v.busy. Access still blocked, pic proof taken. As I gathered bags from front seat, in rear view mirror saw toxic person dart from somewhere fronting & property and scuttle-crouch behind &'s car boot, whack it and run across the road to her house......

    1. Grateful for Martin's mse hoop-jumping for car insurance and sorting online banking glitch fix. Pleased [and determined] to praise both young members of staff to their differing organisations, ensure that it was made known in right quarters. Chelsea at One Call Insurance and NatWest Matthew, 20 and 22 respectively....absolutely 1st-class.

    2. Finally found perfect fit replacement lid for slow cooker in our c.s.

    3. Enzed friends have not long called in, down from latest temp. work in Boston Lincs[crimbo cosmetics packaging] - concerned by reports, not from &.

    4. Timing chain biz means & accepts Fenboys' advice, so no Spits. Ah well.... Advanced replacement/repair date will be sorted tomorrow.

    5. An excellent slow cooker bolognaise contains une bonne bouteille minervois with 48 hrs under its belt. Portion to enzed friends and will try it myself tonight.

All blessings, as RWC rugby continues. Son and heir of The Alma, plus parents and Polish maternal grandparents were ALL in full RWC Wales kit on little person's 1st birthday on Monday:-) We're all keeping updated with book of face postings by R and D who are out there, actually saw the ABs v. Boks match, which they said was brilliant.
The Alma Front Row Banner was picked up, 20 seconds in, on Wales RFU's twitter feed. Such fame!
