Thank you for all your lovely wishes for DD and the baby, it's so nice when we only know each other online to receive so much love, bless you xxx.
A really good day in the shop yesterday, I stood a double till shift and the takings were really good and the Hospice benefited immensely, we work well as a team our little Friday gang!
Baby and parents are back at home, finally, having been told they'd get discharged at lunchtime and finally achieving that at gone 10.30 last night!
Lovely bright and sunny day here today and we've both opted for a nice easy day as we're a bit tired and still coming down from the emotional aspects of the past fairly stressful few days.
The prospect of a 'little eggy something on a tray' like Noel Coward for our lunch today, eggs mmmmmmm!
Autumn harvests from the allotment, still picking blackberries and raspberries, the outdoor tomatoes are ripening in a day, the grapes are beginning to purple up on the vine and the second batch of sweetcorn looks almost ready. We have carrots and a fine stand of leeks to give us winter stews, the onions are harvested already and plaited and hanging in the kitchen along with the elephant garlic and the French and runner beans although no longer edible fresh are drying off nicely to be harvested as dried beans for soups and stews through the cold months. Fabulous time of year eh?0 -
Hello all
Congratulations mr and mrs lw on the new arrival
Pleasures for Thursday.

4. washing pretty much dried on the line
5. Accidentally binge watched the first 3 episodes of ' A confession'
and yesterday
1. DD and I had mac'n'cheese for tea, with broccoli
2. bathrooms were cleaned while watching / listening to previous 'mash reports'
3. last chapter, and really the last chapter started :T
4. Flipping spiders, which are not a pleasure, removed - which is... no spiders were harmed in the process.
5. another banked
Have a nice afternoon all - I am hoping for a walk in the warm sunshine and 'may' pick blackberries if there's any aroundI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
VJsmum, there is a legend that you should never pick blackberries come Michaelmas (mid Septemberish) because they're tougher and more bitter. You can blame God for that. At this time of year, he chucked Lucifer out of Heaven. Lucifer fell into a blackberry bush and got stung to b u g g e r y by the thorns, so he spat over them, turning them bitter. Just a heads up!One life - your life - live it!0

PM2DD Shocking. At home as well. Well, at least the #GIMPS are six down at home!
There!
Good news. The bog roll is in use. And I took BoPsie to the caff. Had tea and cake. She’s had enuff of the place.
DD As I writes. No way!
And there, all working!0 -
Congratulations to the LW family.
1 Had my quarterly injection and I was surprised that a few hours later I was feeling a bit better for it.
2 Spent the whole day grouting tiles, to be precise literally thousands of 1 inch square tiles, I’ve probably got about another 4 days work once the worktop is fitted. But it also feels nice to have achieved.
3 Cooked up fish pie with greens and veg for dinner.
4 Downstairs loo has a towel rail and loo roll holder actually installed now, and of course they were half price.
5 There may have been a tub of cookie dough ice cream but its gone now…0 -
Saturday pleasures,
Had a bit of a lie-in.
It was a warm, sunny day so took the summer blanket off the bed and had it washed & dried by the afternoon, replaced it with heavier, winter one and then of course came the mildest night we’ve had for a while.......
A morning spent baking, walnut & sunflower loaf, rock cakes, fruit crumble and a lentil & mushroom gratin ready for tea.
Over to see the beautiful grey one, she is shedding like mad and at times it was like being in a snowstorm but she looked fab by the end and hopefully a tad less itchy.
Mabon celebrations, candles lit, tasty food eaten and a glass or two raised.0 -
1. May have watched some rugby. Didn't see all of the 3 matches but some of all of them.
2. Text conversation with a friend.
3. Enjoyed the sun and spent time in the garden. Had a chat with my neighbour who was also gardening.
4. Went to garden centre and came back with plants for my winter pots. I managed to fill one pot which is just outside the back door.
5. Went to a Harvester with DH and DS1. It had improved since I last went about 4years ago.0 -
Pleasures yesterday....
Usual dog walk in park, enjoying the warm sunshine and fresh air.
Phone calls made to Dad and to stepson and his family, catching up on the news.
Washing dried on the line outside.
Text from friends- away at Junior Jiu-jitsu European championships. Their girls have both won gold medals in their categories. Nice to hear of others' celebrations.
Afternoon tea out at posh hotel celebrating workmate's 50th birthday. Very civilised.
Light evening meal - strips of chicken breast marinated in herbs and garlic and baked in the oven, served with green salad and sourdough bread, British strawberries and cream for afters. One life - your life - live it!0 -
An undisturbed night's sleep and this morning I feel more like 'me' than I have done for quite some time.
A visit to see our new baby granddaughter and her parents, a cuddle and seeing her awake and looking round.
The privilege of being there when her half brothers met her for the first time which was so beautiful that I actually cried. The older lads face when he saw her was so, so gentle and happy and he wanted to hold her and loves her already, the younger one was happy to meet her but I think his nose is a little out of joint and he just went off to play.
Anticipatory pleasure in knowing we're going out for coffee this morning at one of the local garden centres.
It's rained, the garden is looking refreshed and it's cooler lovely stuff!0 -
Morning! Waving hello from the land of holiday! Or the island of holiday!
After stunning weather yesterday it’s rainy but hey! It’s rain. We’ll dry off later.
The GN is with me as well as DD2 until tomorrow. Haggis too. He’s a bit stressed out by the whole thing ( though think he may have eaten a sock prior to leaving? He’s out of sorts but definitely very stressed by the ferry journey...me too Haggis but now I’m here I’ve done it!
Just had bacon on toast for breakfast. Don’t normally do breakfast.
Stunning views yesterday
The most star filled sky. With no mainland light pollution. It was amazing.
Right...off out! Catch up later.
Hugs to Bopette x0
