  • BOP, thinking of you both, please keep us updated on Bopsie
Ampersand, that’s why this thread is amazing. So sorry you are going through this.
    Nargle, your lunch sounds delicious.

1 Checked through our finances and bills to see if there is anything we can squeeze, I suppose the good news is we are on all the best tariffs for us, but that doesn’t help really. I did write up and advert to place the oven for sale, and also an advert for our corner unit which we’ve outgrown, it’s sat there empty for a while I was thinking we could use it as a display unit but it just isn’t us we are trying to create a bit of space now which means we need to move some bits on. We thought it through last night and we were going to cancel going away over the festive time. We really wanted to go away for end of Oct so are mulling over weather to or not at the moment.

2 Ocado delivery was great, and I may have gone over the top on their coke vanilla offer, free delivery for 3 months and somehow 30pounds in savings but it was all what I would call the only price I would pay, it felt lovely to have it delivered when it was so cold out earlier.

3 Having space in the freezer is really nice, we are getting what we “want” to put in there, a lot more seafood, so I really hope that the freezer holds out for a while.

4 Sanded and prepared wooden doors for painting tomorrow.

5 It’s cold enough the heating has come on, not mse, but it does feel lovely.

6 Not MSE but definitely a pleasure, we are ordering in, as all kitchen electrics off, and I I could do faggots in the microwave and microwaved pots and veg, but we will save that one for tomorrow, and enjoy a delivery tonight.

Pirate Pete I’m glad she’s through the operation. It’s horrid waiting (did around 14 hours each time for the big ops) and your mind goes all over the place. Give Bopsie a very gentle squeeze from me when you get to see her and send my love. And you take care of yourself, Jenny & Raffles x

I'm glad to hear Bopsie's operation was successful, BoP, and I hope she goes on OK.

Hope there is some baby news soon!

Ampersand - keep an accurate record. I'm sorry you are having to go through this.

    Pleasures for today (Wednesday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bits of tidying up this a.m.

    3) Phoned the management company (miles away) that run my job-to-be and the reason I haven't started is no one has updated my police check to say they've seen my documentation. It has been weeks now!

    4) Hens OK.

    5) Went to job-to-be and took my documentation (again) and they said they had sent it off the first time... but they photocopied it again so we shall see.

    6) Picked smaller son up from college and (I know this sounds like a cheese powered dream!) there was a table with a lovely bowl of apples for everyone to help themselves in the foyer. These were picked from the garden and brought in by one of the mentors - one Robert Plant. He only lives up the road.

    7) Changed beds and did 2 loads of washing, dried outside.

    8) My brother came round for board games.

    9) Bigger son made HM burgers for tea which we had with Lidl's lovely brioche buns etc.
  • BOP pleased that Noodle surgery was successful. Take care.

Ampersand it's a horrible situation. Reporting it is the right move.

    1. Work so busy nobody had the chance to annoy me.

    2. Read on the bus bus home. Pleased I didn't drive as gas main repairs meant the journey took 50 minutes rather than the 20 it normally takes at that time.

    3. Ironing done. There will be more later today but at the moment all done.

    4. DS1 being talkative. He is looking g forward to the rugby season.

    5. An early night

    Wednesday pleasures,

Cold start so chilly first walk with small dog.

Some very fast and furious cleaning until left the house for the yard at 10.30, we are on a staycation as from tomorrow and I want everything done.

The beautiful grey one was such a good girl for her Mum, first time since the fall.

LO Couscous for lunch with a big salad as the temps had warmed up nicely.

The squirrel has devised a cunning method of drinking from the water feature, he leaves his back legs on the side of the well and leans across with his front.

A chicken tray bake thingy for tea, tasty and not much washing up!
