It was a warm, sunny day.
1. Had a coffee in the garden in the morning.
2. Did light weeding and planted a few plants. Making sure I didn't do anything to aggravate my back. Garden is looking fairly good at the moment. DH treated the table, chairs and greenhouse with wood preservative.
3. Walked to a local farm house as they had an event for the church.
It was a strawberry tea so had pimms and strawberries. Met a few people we knew and had a chat. Watching people play rounders, badminton, boules and there were no conkers left on the ground!
4. Walking home neighbours stopped and offered us a lift but as it was such a lovely day we decided to continue walking. Had a chat though for about 5 minutes until another car came up the lane.
5. Had a drink in the garden with DH and DS1. The sky had a red/Orange glow to it at one point.
6. Ordered a Chinese take away from local chinese. Very good and it was delivered.0 -
Sunday pleasures,
Up early and took small dog around the fields for a walk, she sent up several pheasants and looked so pleased with herself.
Cleaned the inside of my car, no-one ever sits in the back seats as the cobwebs could attest!
Worked in the garden, clearing weeds from the paths and cutting back some of the shrubs, it was warm in the sun.
Late lunch of beef brisket and veg, Capt S then disappeared for 10 mins and had been down to the village shop for a couple of Magnums, what a treat.
Watched the cricket and then read my book until Dragons Den came on.0 -
Nice and shiny day, Smartphone in hand with amazing plans and talking to the love ones.0

Pirate Pete you’re later with your meanderings today
Day off and hurrah for it.
Woke at 5.50am...that’s more like it!
Nice quick first doggy walk. Stunning sunrise and almost full moon still in the sky.
We were down at the allotment for 7.15am. Just us and the robins and the wrens. Cleared out the bed that had the courgettes. From 4 tiny seeds I got loads. Last one picked today. So that’s all weeded. Admired my two other pumpkins. Maybe they’ll get a chance to shine now all the goodness isn’t going to the whopper! Then over to the faraway bed and did a bit of weeding there too. Still lots of wild flowers growing. Picked some apples. Down for an hour and half. Good for my headspace.
Home. Hung out washings.
Very brief chat with DD1.
Went to cinema to see Downton Abbey. All by myself! I’ve never been to the cinema myself. Cheap seats on a Monday.
Popped over to the r@nge which whilst not my favourite place sells grass seed ( and a RTC picture I’d liked but wouldn’t pay full price for)
Picked up DD2 at work.
Between we did the final touches to the spare room. Looking nice and tidy ( if only it stays that way) it’s guest ready. One arriving tomorrow:)
Mobile library! Hurrah! Took books back ( hangs head in shame but chap is so nice and there’s no late fees) borrowed three books .
Did a bit of gardening out the back. Pulled out some sweet peas. And the chrysanthemums the slugs have been feasting on. Planted out some cyclamen .
Took a teepee over to family across the road. I’d bought it in Australia for GN but she never really bothered with it. Neighbours were delighted. Another bit of ‘stuff’ away
Nice walk down to the postbox with dog. Sent a card to DD1
We had Chinese takeaway for tea.
An evening in my jammies watching telly .0 -
Pleasures today -
My first session with Rock Choir - friendly bunch of people, great music. I have joined and have downloaded the song lyrics so I can crack on learning my part.
Home to lovely freshly-ground coffee whilst checking emails.
Walk with dog in the park, she found a stick. Well, not a stick, it looked more like a lump of tree trunk. She was so pleased with herself.
Made a batch of homemade dog food with turkey mince and rice.
Made an ice cream cake from Jack Monroe's recipe. It came out a bit chewy but I think I cooked it too long. Definitely worth another try.
Took a load of stuff to the tip and on the way back bought a birthday gift for a colleague.
Friend picked up a tonne of gravel and he, my son and I spread it over the front garden. Great teamwork, and it looks so spacious and tidy now.
Having a use up freezer stuff week so did prawn chow mein for son and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for me.One life - your life - live it!0 -
Mhags. BoP inn the Norff has to think of other things so can no give his usual lunch bites to his flock.0
