Hello. I’m supposed to be doing other things but I’m catching up with my Friday pleasures. Fell asleep last night before I posted.

Yesterday was work. In. Work. Outta there! Lovely walk home. Sun was out.

Went to the allotment with doggy. One other chap there , he helped me pull my ginormous pumpkin (all 14.9kg of it!) was hoping to have left it a bit longer but it had had a little nibble on it so up it came. Then had to work out how to get it and dog back to car! A wheelbarrow that’s how!

Picked a bunch of sweet peas and the chap gave me some lupins which I planted in back garden.

The niecelys came for tea. Just a snacky one. Sausage rolls and little sausages and chicken in breadcrumbs. Made and apple pie from allotment apples and some scones.

Still plenty of today left but I’ve been and done work ( busy) and been and done my grocery shop ( though still need to put it away ...sigh) . Just waiting on a load of washing finishing and will chance hanging it outside.

I must, must, must sort spare room out as have a guest staying in a couple of days time.

Enjoy your day and hope all goes well MrsLW and we have a baby girl soon! How exciting:)

    Saturday pleasures,

A lie-in followed by boiled egg and marmite soldiers for breakfast.

Over the yard, beautiful sunny day and time spent with gorgeous equine.

Stand off between the wild rabbit whose taken to sitting under our big hedge and the squirrel who is still furiously stocking up for winter. They came face to face and just stared for several seconds, made me laugh.

It’s been a very poor apple harvest this year and won’t have any for storage but a few were cut up and popped in freezer for crumbles etc.

    Utd won away from home.

Tea was chicken tikka with cumin & sultana rice, yum.

Snap on the Proms but we only watched from the Sea Shanties on.
  • I enjoyed my day.

    1. Walked to the local tea shop. Met an old neighbour and stopped and had a chat. The walk was lovely and it felt very peaceful.

    2. Met a friend at the tea shop. Had a long chat and a lovely cake. It's a local business which is doing well. In the cellar area there is antique shop.

    3. Tidied up the garden a bit. Some of it looks better.

    4. Went to Wakehurst place with DH. Enjoyed the walk and looking at the plants. Some lovely planting.

    5. Went for a meal at a local pub. Not the cheapest but good good and relaxed farmland a micro brewery so supporting another local business.
  • Pleasures for last few days.

1 Norwich beat Man City ,one ecstatic DH ! His sister rang immediately to ask how his Blood Pressure was .
2 Dont know but he needed his inhaler !
3 got most of grass cut ,I must be getting better/ faster at it as more is gating cut before the battery runs out
4 also enjoyed the Proms ,noted all the EU flags in the Albert Hall ,not replicated at the country wide venues .amused and puzzled at the number waving the EU flag whilst lustily singing Land of Hope and Glory !,
    5 weather good .
  • Day T minus 3. Soon. Second time around. Again BoP is off up Norff. Chasing whippets. No problemo. And first train is cancelled again. Claim in delay repay again. There are not the only ones who have to work or get across country on a SunDae either.

In pub just snacking while waiting for next choo choo. Always amazed at the Carvery and Waste. Big bill goes large and ... Seven seats in vicinity. Six have piled their plate and not finished. Nan BoP would have kept it warm for you tomorrow.

    Rite enuff BoP.

Enjoy your SunDae. BoP will report on whippets later.

A red kite soaring over us along the country lanes as we drove this morning.

The smell of a freshly cut hedge as we drove past the machine cutting it.

Some very bargainous solar lights for the garden in the sale at the garden centre we had coffee at this morning.

Finding a lovely fleece winter hat for my littlest grandson with 'Pengins Oma!' on it, he will be SOOOOOO happy.

Leaves whirling down from trees as we passed, autumn colours beginning to show, ploughed fields where there were cereal crops and properly cut hedges with a sloped 'snow cut' top these are all things that make me happy!

    Hello.

Woke up at 7.20am...waaaah! Hadn’t set alarm thinking I’ll wake up at usual 5.30-6 ish! Very quick dog walk and then off out to work.

First couple of hours went by quick, last one not so much but straight out.
    A whole 40p in tips!

Nipped into supermarket. Met old boss/good friend and had a lovely chat with her.

Quick doggy walk when I got in...had been rather alarmed at the smell when I got in...then realised son had made eggy sandwiches before going out!

Friend called. Are you in. I was. So they came over for a couple of hours. Good blether and they took stuff with them! Hurrah!

Having a day off tomorrow. Much hurrah-ing at that! Have a good night x
  • Not yet seen whippets in the Norff. Glass is proper this weak.
