Friday pleasures,
The tea, toast and painkillers Capt S brought me in bed, he ate his breakfast with me as well and with the small dog it made three, kind of a bed picnic!
How warm and cosy it was in there, radio on quietly in the background and dog snoring in her basket, stayed until midday.
Arnica, arnica and more arnica.
Watched am old film in the afternoon.
One of the contestants on Mastermind had the Pop Larkin Chronicles as her specialised subject and I only got one wrong, lost count of the times I’ve read that series.0 -

Pleasures today.
Lie in, no pressing need to get up. Just enjoy the lemon and ginger tea.
Walk with dog and masses of elderberries collected.
Fry up for brunch - pancake, bacon, eggs, maple syrup, bread and butter, orange juice, real coffee. Added chorizo bits, tomatoes and black pudding for son. As BoP would say, proper food and good for yous!
1st batch of elderberry syrup made for the winter.
A second batch of orange brandy on the go - with that and the blackberry whisky under way I have made a good start on presents for that C festival in December.
Bit of ironing done and out of the way.
Later - the beginning of Strictly Come Dancing! One life - your life - live it!0 -
Nice coffee out in the garden centre this morning and buying cyclamen for the hanging baskets and winter pansies for the beds.
Just been for a nice walk up to along the footpaths beside the brook to the local arboretum, round that and back home.
The cup of tea I made when we got back and am drinking now.
Nice reassuring chat with DD1 on the phone as we walked home, baby is fine, daughter is fine and baby is 3/5ths engaged but not likely to arrive in the next 48 hours so DD has gone home and is having a power nap this afternoon.
Picking tomatoes from the greenhouse this afternoon and being able to put them in the freezer, Oh my goodness it's a relief not to have to eat them, we're awash!0 -
Its been a beautiful day here and I’ve had a few lovely doggy walks. First thing it was chilly but a bright blue sky, a heavy dew on the grass and a hint of promise to a lovely day. Robin popping along as we walked.
Work. 8.30-12. Almost danced out the door at midday. Hurrah!
Lovely walk home. Straight out with dog then had some lunch.
Chat to sister.
Shower then a sit up snooze! Walked up with dog when DD was walking home from work. I have to listen to her debrief from work. Which I find a bit trying (but also wanting her to feel she can always talk) but I manage (mainly) to walk out the door and leave it behind. She not so much.
Had to pop in to town. She had to pick up prescription so I went into M&S for a few things for tea...we had what I used to call a ‘snacky tea’ ( also known as mum can’t be @rsed cooking!)
The leather biker jackets are getting picked up tonight. Hurrah! Stuff is moving out the room!
Have a lovely evening:)0 -
