Hello…dark o’clock at 8.30pm
Sunday…up early. Had a few chores to do then headed down to CP …via garden centre for cheese scones. Was a tad rainy. Nice walk ( wet) on way in.
The Baby and her parents came for a visit…and they enjoyed a scone.
Rain dried up and I went for an afternoon swim. Did double what I normally do. ( to make up for not swimming on Saturday)
Painted in the kitchen. Put some more ‘faux tiles’ on and was short so I’m hoping I can still get them…as it was ages ago I and bought them. And put up a Roman blind. Looks nice. Just one wee bit still to paint.
Bedtime!
Then today up early. Doggy walk. Then a swim. Wasn’t the warmest so did my minimum efforts. Hot shower. Then another doggy walk and then home.
Then out to send off a Vinted parcel. And then later back out to send off a Vinted parcel…sigh! Had to pop in to DD2 for the second one as I needed a box. Hello baby!
Cleaned bathrooms.Mobile library! Hurrah! Has been ages! Books for me and books for Baby. Chat to neighbour /friend.
Had a baked potato for an early tea.
Walked to DD2 to do parcel, walked to shop to send off parcel. Met a couple I know so had a nice chat with them. Then walked up the longer way and popped in to see mums NDN so had a lovely couple of hours there. And nice walk home. A beautiful sky.
A very frustrating one and half hours of my life I’ll not get back trying to cancel my wifi provider…I’ve been paying way over the odds for ages and every month I think grrrr when I get the bill so this afternoon I thought right! Anyway one of these silly written chat conversations and he kept saying oooh we can do it for this …me another provider is still cheaper….but we can do this that and the other…yes but unless you can match it…we can give you a tablet …I don’t need one. We can do super dooper speeds…I don’t need that. It’s just me. And me repeating myself so if you can’t match that then I’m canceling…and on and on and on…with gaps in time waiting for a reply. Anyway finally blooming cancelled! And then it was canceled and he said ….do you like football. ( me…what has that to do with anything?) No. Can I ask how you are feeling today? Me…seriously? Didn’t reply. Can you please respond. …better after canceling this! Thought the last bits were a bit odd!
Got some lovely RTC bouquets when I dropped off my parcel. So did flowers when I got home.

lols @mhagster i got another provider to do a one switch then original provider sent me some garbage about me starting a new contract with them. so back into town to visit new provider who sent me to current provider who said new provider had clearly 'ballsed it up' back to new provider 'how could we? we can't set up a new contract with them' (which i heartily agreed with) i had an online chat with someone from current provider and took screen shots of the whole conversation which i then emailed to myself in case there's any shinanigans. and for today
- porridge with stewed apples from provost's very generous tree for breakfast
- last of the very nice celery, mushroom and stilton risotto for lunch
- nipped off from work at 2:55 for piano lesson, back by 3:55 yay for a good bus service and a bus pass
- Dr M on the bus home - always gives my day a lift
- doing an A-Z for the 2026 challenge thread - just watched Just William for J - excellent escapism
No news on the job front so escapism definitely needed!

Morning everyone.
Definitely autumn now - lovely and a big, big pleasure.
Some others:
- Middle grandson was laid off from his temporary job last Friday due to a change in shift patterns. His agency set him up with an interview yesterday morning and within ten minutes of leaving he was offered the job. Better terms, better money and the chance of permanent work at the end of this contract. There are opportunities for training and development and the chance to do work experience in America - they are a big engineeering company. He is buzzing!
- Little grandson has settled happily into his new school and is learning to travel on the bus (with his mum shadowing him and sitting further back til they are confident he will be ok, he's got his phone in his bag). So far so good.
- Been in to see the finished painting and the new settee and chairs unveiled. Wow! A very brave colour scheme - dark green and coral - but it's an evening sitting room so dramatic is fine and it is fabulous.
- Now life is getting back to normal, my bairn and I have started our lunchtime walks again. Blimey, I am out of condition, huffed and puffed round our 'easy' route but feel much better for it. No pain no gain and all that.
- Making the most of today and intend to enjoy every second of it as tomorrow is the start of my next round of big dental work with, for starters, a new crown, a tooth extraction and implants fitted again. I had lovely sedation last time but the dentist thinks I'll be fine this time without. Eeekk! Anyway I'll think about that tomorrow and in the meantime will spend today doing nice things.
Hope you find some pleasures in today, have a good one.

Hello…been a day of very heavy showers here today…constant on and off. Bright/ dark/ pour…on repeat.
Anyway…normally as you know I always wake early…this morning I needed to be out early…should I set an alarm don’t be daft, you won’t need it! Slept till 6am ! Which is late by my usual standard 😆
Round to DD2 early to get a baby in my car and then she followed me in her car to drop it off at garage then back here to mine.
Got a baby all washed and dressed here then we headed out to garden centre. Met an old colleague so had a good chat with them. Had some breakfast and was looking for a particular plant but they didn’t have any…so back here to mine. Then ( whilst waiting for a parcel to be delivered) she got text to say car was ready…me…hmm parcel due …okay let’s chance it! Drove her down to get car and back home…in and out in less than 20 minutes! ‘We tried to deliver your parcel’ of course you did! But because I have such lovely posties they saw my car when they were finishing and came back in with it! Such nice chaps!
A wee unsettled baby. But we read and we chatted and she blew bubbles. And I sang silly songs. And DD2 had a nap. And I felt like I needed one 😆
And then it was Bathtime and bedtime stories, one of my favourite times of the week and they went home. The dog and I both sighed. And he may have mentioned she was quite noisy at times wasn’t she. Yes, yes she was ! But aren’t we lucky to have her!6 -
