    1. At last, at last! It's been some time since last post here. MrT's Theo has again fixed mse for &'s mob and this resumption comes live from The Alma on Quiz Night, now over . Always a lovely buzzy, busy atmosphere. Exciting lime for &, with Doblo to drive.....😄

    2. Yesterday was the usual birthday lunch with oldest Northern hemisphere Uni friend, by the river, using &'s MrT vouchers, then off to Emmaüs for happy rummage rest of afternoon. A lovely day and everything gifty from Nexus proved perfect.🫶 Especially loved for its amazing-ness was a very large streaky greys+white candle exactly replicating the photo of a particular large Irish beach pebble, made there, near birthplace of Joyce, who friend researches and writes on, still! Quatre-vingts ans!!!! ...pas possible, nous avons déclarés!!!😁

    3. Finally ate last ripe fig from tree today, but hundreds more are green walnut size, next crop in waiting.

    4. A death, yes, but farewell will be a splendid celebration of 104 years of a splendid life, well Iived until last week. K loved Jammy Dodger biccies, cricket, rugby, his garden, the Fens, the ANZACS, pretended to loathe France and the French - so we disagreed happily 😀.  & showed him bits of her life there and resistance stories of friends, which he, a brave man himself, appreciated.

    5. 5 birthdays and a wedding in 10 days sorted after tomorrow. Phew! Everything very well received so far.,👌

Matters other - sad loss for Carlitos.  & is no fan of Shelton, nor of the ignorant trumpanzee style US crowd.  Djokovic out 1st round was a bonus - LOATHE him, always have. But that Alcaraz wrist injury! Out for 5 months and he's recovering well. 💓
Next here Saturday to help my beloved ABs v. the bokke, who play THUGby, not rugby😡in Baltimore of all unlikely places, starting 22h UK time. Erasmus coaches them thus and laughs at what they get away with - eye gouging, head punches etc. Useless Angus Gardner as referee was no help.

    On verra......

    Welcome back bop😀.

Over all things, & is aware that she has survived 3 years next week, thanks to Michael Parry, as already much written here, but it can never be enough.

All blessings to everyone reading here. This was yesterday's extraordinary sunset outside Town of Horse emporium, with that rising grey path-shaped cloud and on the left, a face! Perhaps it doesn't show well here, but 2 chaps and & watched it, 2 eyes, nose, mouth in dark grey. Lasted about 15 seconds. Forgive &'s usual useless photography😁, horrific for bop to see.😄

    1. thank goodness for air con! 🥵
    2. a decent breakfast (just as well as there didn't seem to be lunch today!!! and my host had gone off for prayers so no way of dropping heavy hints)
    3. complementary Arabic coffee and dates from reception when we got back to the hotel - we could have walked to a nearby restaurant but it is too hot!
    4. tunnocks - i had brought out several packets of Tunnocks caramel wafers for the students and i happened to have some in my bag - my colleague and i had 2 each for a late lunch 🤣
    5. we asked when supper opened - 6:30pm - it's now 9pm - we are well fed, i have caught up with my colleague, gone through some urgent emails and now contemplating an early night. breakfast opens 6:30am just in case i can't wait till 7:30 😊car comes for us at 8:30

tomorrow's timetable has no space for lunch so will ensure we get well-stocked at breakfast and will wrap a couple of pain au chocolate for later!

It’s almost dark at 8.15pm…have a couple of candles lit and I had the heating on for half an hour to finish drying off some washing ( my swim stuff so it’s dry for tomorrow)

Rubbish sleep. Was woken by a dog making ‘ I think I might be sick ‘noises. He wasn’t but I couldn’t get back to sleep.

So was glad when it was time to get up. Wrote a list of chores. Cleaned bathrooms. Hoovered downstairs and washed floors. Stripped spare room bedding.

Had intended going out about 10am and then DD2 asked if I could do something and I asked when and then she didn’t reply for ages ( she was busy with baby) and then said oh it’s okay…I may have inwardly growled. So I finished what I was doing! Waited for the washing machine to finish, hung out another load and headed to CP.

We had a lovely walk. I felt light of shoulder…if that makes sense…often I’m worrying about others / work stuff / have a few friends going through stuff at the moment but I just was in the moment and really enjoyed the walk. Found some cracking conkers! HUGE they were!

Got to the bottom of the drive where there are blackberries ! So picked a few as a reward for walking that far! ( the dog…not I 😆) and then we sauntered back up.

Met a swimming pal as I was driving up so had a nice chat with her.

And I went for a swim and the sun came out and it was just me and it was just a lovely swim. Only 19 swim days left. Had a very small lunch when I got back and then grabbed my wet stuff and off we went…back home.

    Quick chat to sister.

And then walked round to DD2…and sat with a baby whilst she sorted out clothes that are already grown out of. Lots of smiles and stories.
And just chit chat with DD2.

And then DD1 called to say they were just about to board …the start of the long journey here. Can’t wait to see her.

We walked to supermarket and then I walked home, with a lovely bunch of RTC flowers and I had bought DD2 a bunch too. Hello doggy! Let’s get all this washing in and get the swim stuff out…so it had a blow for a couple of hours but was still a bit damp when I brought it in ( hence half an hour of heating)

Cooked some rice and reheated some leftover chilli for my tea.

Did the teeny tiniest ironing…I like pillowcases to be ironed and did my work clothes from the other day and that was it! If it can be folded it’s folded!

Hoovered upstairs. Remade spare bed. Need to move baby cot back into my room to give them room and clean the windows tomorrow and that should be it.

And I just feel I’ve had a nice day! No rushing about. Got a couple of deliveries with art work for my next project ( one of them…to keep me busy when I don’t have any work)

Waiting for friend to call when she’s free and then it will be bedtime!
