DD I walked to work and it most certainly was raining...I walked home from work and it was pouring! A day of much wet here!
Worked 9-1.
Home and did a wet and windy dog walk but just a quick one as after lunch we both jumped in the car and drove to the allotment where yes it was raining but not too heavily.
Picked 4 courgettes. Think they may be near the end but I'm happy to be proved wrong. Admired the huuuge pumpkin. It loves the rain. Sent some escaping pumpkin vines back to their patch . Picked a big bunch of sweet peas and some flowering herbs. Picked an apple from each tree that had apples growing ( there's loads ) that I could reach. And the prettiest pair of pears with such a pretty blush of pink on them. Then as rain started to get heavy we left. Both wet but both happy.
Had to wait till DD got in from college to go for a shower as was waiting on a delivery between 4-8 ( came at 7.30)
Jammies and a jumper on! Much cooler and much darker . Dark o'clock was at 8.30pm. However no heating though may put it on in the morning just to dry off washing so I can get another load hung up.
Rain coming back in big window in extension. Growling ! Have emailed builder.
I had a roll and sliced sausage for my tea and kids had spag Bol. The Bol part courtesy of leftover from work and out my freezer.
My parcel came and is a lovely wire pumpkin...ordered in August so not really no stuff September!

Pleasures for today (Tuesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son had an exciting induction day at college. His timetable looks pretty good. 9-5 every day but Fridays off.
3) Bigger son had his blood test with no problems - results back in 2-3 days. He soaked another lot of bedding (he got up at 5.30am) and has gone hot a few times during the day but OK to potter around. Another horrible sore has appeared further up his leg but the main one is healing up now. Googling reveals that cellulitis itself can cause these sort of sweats. Then you google further and he also has the symptoms of TB - which he hasn't been immunised against either! (None is in this county).
4) We popped to Lidl on the way home from hospital.
5) Hens well.
6) Tidied the garden and washed all the bedding (again).
7) My brother in law and niece popped round to give bigger son a get well soon toblerone. My sister has made smaller son some cushions out of his old football shirts.
8) I booked 2 tickets for Man Utd v Aston Villa later this year.
9) Watched Holby City.
10) Also entertaining watching the goings on in parliament today.0 -

Door open, doggy on the back step, enjoying the cool. Birds are singing. It would be a lovely day, if I didn't have to go to work :rotfl:
Have a lovely day0 -

Tuesday pleasures,
A bright sunny day.
Up early to make bread, Capt S was off to Mancland with his lads to watch today’s test match and wanted them to have decent grub.
The beautiful grey one had the physio, he sorted out a small problem in her shoulder and she seemed very happy. She gets far more in the way of personal care than her Mum :rotfl:
Finally waved goodbye to my beloved around 5pm after a lot of procrastinating from the boys, good job they have a patient Dad!
Just me and small dog on evening walk but a lovely sunset cheered us up, home and cba cooking so opened a tin of mackerel in Tom sauce and had with a big salad.0 -
Pleasures yesterday...
Woke earlier than usual but it meant I got into the day a bit sooner.
Some more elderberries foraged for the collection, in freezer now, will be transformed eventually into elderberry brandy and elderberry syrup for those winter ailments.
Got nagging little jobs crossed off the list.
Heating put on last night as cooler days and nights forecast. The ambient temperature is now comfortable,
Warm shower with organic lavender soap. Soap nearly finished so need to decide what soap to use next - olive or honey or lavender or mango. Real bar soap seems so much more luxurious than shower gels.
Fresh batch of pancakes made for quick breakfasts for son when he goes in to work. As he is not up yet today is obviously a work from home day so pancakes with home made apple puree and syrup later. One life - your life - live it!0 -
And it wont be long for it!
There, now at the mill wes has seen a new potential stoker for the boiler room, only now for the humane remains types to get it wrong!
T minus Fourteen now. BoP has checked his Jenny Test date. That is inn eight days OK. BoPsie is inn with quack this morning!
Watched some catch up tv last night and saw some old bully. Come and has a look at the boat. Was tellings the new mill hands about some cars we used to has, and on came star prize of the mini metro!
BoP is on cat watch shortly. Neighbores cat and our Raffles. Should be fun fun fun!
PM2DD Tinpot! Better off not!
Well, that is a bit short on the BoP affronts today!
Go now and return to your seat!

Good shift at the shop, made sure not to allow any clothing donated to touch my skin and result is a far less itchy afternoon.
Found 4 x Meg and Mog books for Freida and also a brand new copy of The Borrowers for when she's bigger.
Nice walk this afternoon in the sun but quite a sharp and gusty wind so much on and off with jackets depending whether we were sheltered or not.
The sweet perfume from some Elegnus bushes we passed on our walk, the flowers are so tiny and insignificant on the bush but smell sweetly of a cross between hyacinths and jasmine.
The Michaelmas daisy plant I put in the garden a few weeks ago is covered in the most vibrant purple daisies, it's glorious.0 -
1 The kitchen arrived, at 6.30am this morning, I thought they were kidding but no there they were on the dot, just as well we were up and ready just in case. Both the builder and ourselves are very impressed with just how high the quality of the kitchen units are, I thoroughly recommend them, very pleased. They have even provided a temporary sink, tap and worksurface while the stone is templated, it may be the norm but I just didn’t expect it so a pleasant surprise.
2 I may be having a slight fit over things that do not seem right to me (we’ve not had a builder before so don’t know what to expect) that I won’t list off, so I escaped to the caravan where I proceeded to re heat lunch and read a little.
3 Walked around to a shop because of noise, car in pieces and it’s a nice day seemed like a good enough excuse, was only fast as expecting more deliveries but nice, and picked a few blackberries.
4 Looks like I’m cooking dinner in the caravan tonight, this has been one way to empty out freezers, but it will also nice to be able to restock them with things we actually use.
5 Very pleased with the tap, and oven that turned up through the day. Its like a very expensive Christmas present to ourselves with all these boxes around.0 -
Oh PK a new kitchen is very stressful but just remind yourself it will be worth it in the end! This time last year I was mid build!
A nice evening after a day of far too much rain although I got to and from work around the very heavy showers.
Work was busy 9-12 ...outta there at 12! Fairly decent tips too.
Was dog walking when DD2 went by on the bus so we waited for her.
We had beans on toast for lunch.
Pootered around. The continuing saga of trying to sort out spare room. The daughter that doesn't live here has an awful lot of stuff! I'm hoping niece takes some things away tomorrow when they visit. Jackets will go next week. Moved dressing table from my room into that one.
Took bag of clothes to friends , she's had a pick then rest going to charity shop.
Dropped off some blackberries to another friend.
Popped into other friends with a gift.
Then home and made mince and veg.
Trying to get blooming washing dry. House resembling some industrial laundrette! Put heating on for an hour.
Clean bedding always nice to climb into.0
