Pleasures for today (Thursday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Off to hospital again for another blood test and a chest x ray for bigger son. All done very quickly and they are going to save his x ray on a disk for him so he can look at it again! They wouldn't discuss what they could see but did show him an air bubble in his tummy! NO night sweat last night (after 5 nights in a row) so maybe this was all connected to his cellulitis.
3) A cup of tea and a tea cake in the league of friends hospital caf!.
4) Hens OK.
5) Cleaned the downstairs.
6) My brother came round for board games and brought us a bag of damsons.
7) Bigger son and my brother have gone to my brother in law's to try out another new board game.
8) Watched 20 years of DIY SOS.0 -
Thursday pleasures,
Up early to walk small dog, beautiful morning and no rain!
Out to post office in next village to send off Fleabay sale and had space right outside, parking gods smiling on me.
The lady in queue in front of me was buying postcards and explaining about a current scheme to send these to dementia patients, added to the to do list.
Rode pony, fell off pony  taken to local hospital for check up and just badly bruised.

A good afternoon on the till in the shop, I like meeting people.
Chat with DD1 on the phone she has 1 week and 1 day to go to baby's due date and finished at school this afternoon. She's feeling very relaxed now and looking forward to a few days to just 'be' before the baby arrives.
Lovely long chat with DD2 last evening as she was driving home (she has Bluetooth tech in the car) and hearing she and the family are off to one of her school friends weddings this weekend, said friend is one of my favourites so I hope all goes wonderfully well for the happy couple and they are happy together.
We've defrosted the first of the freezers and its contents are now in the chest freezer we got yesterday. I shall unload the smaller one from the fridge/freezer this evening and sort that out into the new freezer, give the inside a clean and then reload some if it's contents and make a list!
luscious sweetcorn from the allotment to have as part of supper tonight, yum!0 -
Oh dear AWOL again....
Pleasures for the last few days....
1. My nasty cough is not a pleasure, being able to see the nurse practitioner and commence taking drugs is... :rotfl:
2. DD is better and has gone back to work
3. Using stuff up from the freezer, though some of it was definitely not a pleasure. the pleasure might be that I didn't get food poisoning
4. DS likes his new Liverpool house, though he has had to come home today to visit the dentist.
5. the typing continues, the thing now has definite shape.:T
Have a good weekend all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Lainey - hope you're ok.
Pleasures for today (Friday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) 2 days in a row with no night sweats for bigger son so I think we can be assured they were just connected to his cellulitis. He's still taking the antibiotics for that.
3) Had a tidy up.
4) Hens OK.
5) Bigger son went to work at the garage and is now out with his friend (on his bike).
6) I went to the forest this afternoon with my sister and small niece. We were there nearly 3 hours.
7) HM chicken nuggets for tea with chips from the van. Also roasted the spare chicken breast so we can have chicken tikka sandwiches tomorrow.
8) Made some brownies.
9) Looked through the deeds for the house (I was looking for something else but got distracted). They include weird things like plans for works thought up but never started. A sad 1981 list of works including "disposal of the quarry tile floors" and "removal of the fireplaces". The sale costs went up and down madly (only a 2 up 2 down so passed through many sets of hands in the 1980s), once costing more than I paid for it in 1998! Then it was left empty and fell into disrepair and was sold for only £20,000. It was still pretty awful when I bought it, though it had had a new roof by then.
10) Watched Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.0 -
Ouchy Lainey, hope you are ok? Glad you are being looked after. Also, thanks for the tip about the dementia postcard project, I will also be doing it.
We’ve run right down on reductions, and it’s making me quite antsy, but at the moment my cars off the road so it’s changing habits, but it also makes way in time for the festive season.
Kitchen progress today, the chap came along to template the worktop. The house electrics upgrade has completed, there’s a temporary sink, tap and temp worksurface, and the new boiler is nearly complete. The oven and microwave are in, and considering I didn’t go for matching, they couldn’t be any more matching if they tried.
1 I properly deep cleaned all of the upstairs, top to bottom in all rooms, I couldn’t be bothered to do downstairs as the builder is in, to give you a clue of how dusty downstairs is, the builder tried clearing something up with his hoover and the smoke alarm went off.:(
2 We just caved to a great ltitle takeaway that’s getting to know us well with this kitchen install.
3 DH is doing lots of outstanding jobs, today he has cut, sanded and painted the cupboards for the downstairs loo. He really doesn’t like that the builder is here, as he used to be able to do this, but arthritis in both hands and neck prevents that now. But he’s finishing some other bits off so I have to say I’m not complaining, as I’m painting the wall in the living room, (when the kitchen was rewired last week, it came through the whole newly painted wall in the living room) removing a whole wall of paint to get it back to be able to redecorate. Ho hum.
4 I do admit I entered the lotto tonight.:p
5 A pre pleasure I’m looking forward to not getting up to an alarm tomorrow.:)0 -
1) walked in again with dd2 - i love our chats
2) lunch was lol pasta thing, still one portion for tomorrow
3) then met up with friends in the phoenix - got belated birthday drinks
4) then walked up to chippy to meet dd2 - one fish supper, one sausages, shared out the chips, nom nom and no left overs
5) then we walked the dogs
