Hello. What a lot of lovely posts to read this evening. Hope poorly people feeling better soon. Lurgied people in my house they can keep it to themselves.
Sue my kindest thoughts as always to you and your husband. Make the most of every moment. A teatime hamper sounds rather delightful!
Lainey ouch! Take things nice and easy if you can.
Beautiful sunrise this morning. Haggis and I were out at 6.30am as sun was coming up. Blooming chilly at 4o. Wooly hat on!
Work 8.30-12. Was okay.
DD2 unwell with viral lurgy thing so she didn’t make work.
Cut grass and glad I did as that’s the rain back. Weeded. Would have done more however friend popped over with stuff for GN. I could not bear to have this stuff in my house so called niece and said are you in?
Friend was here for an hour or so sat and chatted.
Went a walk with dog walking friend but without my dog . Went in search of blackberries but where we used to walk is now making way for a new housing estate so hedges pulled out. We did however walk through a field and got very wet feet ! Nice to chat. We are both working women now so don’t see each other as often.
Took stuff to niece. Which also included a pretty bedside table ( that someone had kindly given me ) Nice drive down and I saw the sea first.
Popped into M0rrisons and got a few Rtc plants.
So having dropped stuff at theirs they filled my car with more stuff! Waaaah! Stuff baby has outgrown already. Friends niece is due a baby soon so gave her first dibs but she couldn’t get hold of her so I’ve still got it in my car but then got home and a yes she’d like most of it! So now need to get it back over there though not sure when!
Feel like it’s been a three way moving of stuff but think I will be the winner at the end with nothing left? And isn’t it good that it’s all being shared?
And then home and next door had taken in two parcels yesterday and one was lovely and well made and the other was a shocker!
And then put plants out in garden where they are having a fabulous soaking as it’s peeing with rain!
Day off tomorrow! Hurrah!0 -
Hope you're OK, Sue.
Pleasures for today (Sunday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) My sister and niece came over for a cup of tea - her first day at school tomorrow!
3) Hens OK.
4) Did lots of cooking - soda bread, yohurt is under way, stewed apples and damsons.
5) Nice salmon for tea then damson crumble.
6) Watched episodes of DIY SOS.
First full day at college for both sons tomorrow. Bigger son is in bed saying he no longer wants to do the course he has chosen. Smaller son is saying he's not going to go at all. Happy days.0 -
Frith hope both sons go to college with relatively little fuss.
1. Lie in needed it after the busy time we had in Italy.
2. Went to Wisley and looked round the plant show. I did but some plants- ferns for under the cobnut trees we have.
3. Had a look at work at MIL house. Coming on but slowly.
4. Home and some gardening as it was dry and sunny.
5. DS1 went to stay with a friend for the night to attend a 2nd birthday party.
6. DS2 cooked a steak and ale pie followed by crumble.
7. My nephew started at Sandhurst.0 -
Deep breaths Frith!
Thoughts are with Sue and her family.
Sunday pleasures,
Cold morning so heating clicked on despite thermostat only set at 18c, up early and small dog cuddles with a cuppa.
Lots of sunshine so soon warmed up but definite autumnal feel so decided on a roast dinner followed by plum crumble.
Two loads of washing done and dried, what would my Grandma say about washing on a sunday!
Let’s not mention the cricket as it’s the hope that kills you, however good to see Pippa Funnell win Burghley HT.
Fancied something sweet for Sunday tea but no cake made for obvious reasons, imagine how pleased we were to find a pack of Eccles cakes in the larder.0 -
Hello. Well now it’s decided to be nice ! Bright blue sky.
Day off. Hurrah! Though of course still woke early, up with dog, had a shower then somehow dozed off again!
Dropped stuff at charity .
Went to do grocery shop. Bought a few things for holiday, a few for Christmas hampers I’m doing and I did buy a tub of heroes for a raffle gift...came home later and they’d been opened! Did the excuse me you should have asked routine to be told well you weren’t in!
Popped into my mothers.
Went to allotment even though it was raining and had to drive the horrid way as other road is closed. It’s so hard to see round corners and is mostly single track. Didn’t encounter anyone on way there but did on way back.
Put my wooly hat on. Only had one courgette to pick , a very small handful of blackberries, a couple of apples and pears. Admired the pumpkin...it’s Huge! And a couple of smaller ones starting to grow. I love my pumpkin! Spoke to DD1 in Melbourne.
Home. Had lunch then out for a back massage. Less ouchy than normal.
Home and nice dog walk. Was starting to drizzle again.
Made mince and veggies and dough balls for tea.
Then it brightened up so did a bit of gardening. Planted the plants I bought yesterday and put in some bulbs .0 -
Still in the Norff. Weird glass last eve for the wobbleade. Girlie glass. We’ve sore ted it. Not seen any whippets.
Apols about normal disservice. But I need my brat slapping gun this evening. No foot inn right place and a grazed I knew will sore that’s as well. Live as I rites mes words of wisdom. They’re herded out to bed.
:heartpuls to get needy and infirm.
Don’t laugh at your miss givings, but look at doing good.
Rite. Whippet sarnie is here. And more tomorrow.0 -
Thinking of Sue
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Went for a walk into town with OH. Nice walk in blue skies and sunshine. We saw a steam train, what a coincidence.. :rotfl:
2. Had a coffee in costa, then decided to peer in to the food fair that was on. 3 hours, a pint and lunch later we went home again. Was lovely to have such a thing in the town. Really nice atmosphere
3. DD came and joined us for lunch. (I had a veggie galette)
4. Bought a selection of cheeses that we had for lunch.
5. Dusted the house - for once, it is clean... :T
And today
1. Yoga
2. finally worked out my chapter but it's been a frustrating day
3. Slept in till 7.20
4. Still feeling a bit rotten, but due to general CBA ness, just had egg on toast for tea
5. May watch a Poldark in a minute.
Have a nice evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
What an irritating day!
Pleasures first.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Took bigger son to pick his X ray up (he asked for a copy). We can't make it work on our laptop but I'm sure someone will have the know-how.
3) Dropped bigger son off at college and popped to Sainsburys.
4) Hens OK.
5) Managed to get my banking thing to work on the laptop so I could save bank statements to apply for sons' bursaries.
6) Managed to get the printer connected to my laptop and (don't know how!) my mobile phone - wirelessly.
7) Ordered new top for bigger son's course at college...
8) Sourced new glass for the door of the stove.
9) Brother came round for board games
Irritations...
Bigger son went to college to start brand new course. It has been cancelled. The course leader was told at 8.50am. Next nearest college that offers it is Hartpury which is MILES away.
Smaller son refused to go to college. Playstation was immediately confiscated so he's been appalling all day.
Bigger son is still ill, another cold sweat overnight. Antibiotics are finished... No word on results of blood test and chest x ray.
Bigger son just reappeared and has been sick all over the road outside. This self inflicted so he's been working hard with buckets of water to sort it out.
Pah.
On a positive note, this has made me laugh a lot.

Oh lord Frith!
Monday pleasures,
Slightly less achey and managed to get out to the shops for fresh f & v, one of the most satisfying pleasures from the last few days was that a full larder and freezer meant no emergency purchases needed.
I made bread and had with soup for lunch.
Rainy old afternoon so sorted through paperwork, found car insurance for £80 less that renewal price from current provider :money: and took great pleasure in telling them!
Went over the yard and got there just as girlie was coming in, she was filthy and wet so no point grooming, just had a few cuddles and pottered.
