Now at the Grace Cathedral. Usual rules. Nana said take half crown out, they’ve got enough.
Then it’s Date Nite San Francisco!
Still no sign of Ironside!0 -
Good morning. Monday already. It looks like a nice start to the day though I'd thought that yesterday...stripped my bed and it was blowing in the wind nicely until the rain started and it hardly stopped all day. There were lesser showers in amongst the heavy ones.
Popped down to allotment. Son helped me take the 3 bags of compost I'd left over from garden makeover . Too heavy for me to lift. So that was done in light rain.
A school friend had been in touch on Saturday, she would be in town for one night only and could she visit me. We've not seen each other in 20 years and it was just lovely sitting blethering, no strangeness or this is a bit weird! Just lovely.
Made a chicken pie which was much nicer than the shop bought one.
Made tiny little cupcakes and a teeny little lemon drizzle loaf ( just me that likes lemon)
Yay to Victoria being back on but zzzzzz to falling asleep on sofa so shall have to watch the last 20 minutes on catch up!
Have a good day0 -
Weekend pleasures,
Dropped small dog off at her overnight digs, she is always happy to go in which helps to assuage my guilt at leaving her a tad
Drive up to the Midlands, mile after mile of roadworks but contented myself with checking out all the hedge blossom and the occasional, random daffodil.
Arrived at our hotel, bit shabby around the edges and they instantly put my back up as even though all bookings etc had been made in my name they had put the booking under Capt S’s name  why, why, receptionist mumbled some inane excuse but I said it was nothing but sexist. Not a good start.
Quick change and met up for family party.
When we saw they had put magician on the itinerary we inwardly groaned but he was very good to be far, he wandered between groups of chatting people doing very clever tricks, impressed.
Hot buffet which was yum, a DJ that played a jolly good set so we danced our feet off and generally had a great time.
So nice to catch up with cousins, plans are afoot for another summer party.
Left early Sunday morning to get back for kennel, small dog was delighted to see us and didn’t leave my side for the rest of the day.
It was a warm, sunny day so grass cut.
Good to be back in our bed, hotel one was hard as!0 -
Second time of trying, computer ate my first go!
Family all here for the day yesterday which was lovely
Trip out after lunch to the local birds of prey centre, boys were fascinated and loved the birds in the flying display.
They flew a Merlin, tiniest of the native raptors super fast and super agile, a beautiful thing.
A peacock butterfly out and about on the flowers in the garden in the sun this morning.
My friend is given us a travel cot she no longer needs for the soon to be new babies when they come to visit.
DD1 gave us the best pleasure yesterday as they went in the morning for the gender scan on the first of the two new babies.....and it's a girl, I get a pink one to play with, Woohoo!0 -
So mes and BoPsie was on date nite last nite inn San Francisco. And others inn the parish were ...
The Grace Cathedral was good. Nice talk and service. It bin for a while, but was good about being something you’re not. The fig tree that bore no fruit. It thought it was a fig tree but actually was not. Therefore when you look at BuckFace and see the shine from the bull, yous not missing anything.
Where today. Tea and croissant thirst. Walk round. Then it is the sunset boat at the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s raining. Oh well.
BoPsie is happy iPhone is fixed.

Not so many pleasures for today as I spent from 9.30 - 7 trying to unblock the drain to the septic tank. Found 3 manhole covers (2, conveniently under the boundary fence!) and unblocked 2... The blockage is in the last 25m stretch. Of course...
Oh, and not a good sleep either - bigger son phoned at 1.45am for a lift...
1) Hens well.
2) Bigger son (afternoon shift) and my brother (evening shift) helped me with rodding...
3) Neighbour (shared tank) came home and brought us a cup of tea out.
4) Messages from MrA.
5) Made a decent spag bol for tea despite time constraints.
6) Lost 4lb last week. 12 stones 5 now.0 -
Just did the cable car again. No queue. Strange how punter bus drops off at one end and they all sheople up in line, yet a hundred yards away another with the view has none! Lunch at ferry terminal. Fish and chips tasty.
Now for date nite cruise. Under gate of golden. More later.0 -
Hello. Sat atop my freshly made bed with a face mask on and foot mask socky things on! And relax for 20 mins!
It's been a beautiful day here.
Washing out and dried.
Went into town with DD2. She paid for lunch. Parked at supermarket so didn't have to pay for parking though do have to walk downhill then back uphill.
A few RTC items.
Home and nice walk with the dog.
Just made son an omelette as we'd had big lunch. Used up salami from fridge.
Went to pay my allotment dues.
Popped into T on way back and got a few RTC things there. Met a friend and quick chat then on way out met another and had a very long chat in the carpark!
Just catching up with the rest of Victoria whilst I pamper!0 -
1 Popped over the bridge today, the traffic was kind, but we noticed priced in Home Bargains are creeping up.
2 We ambled around the range we did stop in at the caf! for a panini and tea, very civilised it is to, we went around the usual suspects on the hunt for a kettle after our one tried to set the place alight, but just couldn’t find an ok one.
3 We ended up in the main centre and in Lakeland, we ended up paying a little bit more for one, which I have to say is the only one I actually like, and has a 3 year warranty, 2 years longer than the others.
4 Really pleased that with various dehydrated things of apple, rosemary, tomato and mint, we made our own marinade for chops, proof will be in what it tastes like though.
5 A slice of C0stco pizza was a very late tea.0 -
Monday pleasures,
Sunny but cool, breezy day so washing dried on the line.
The beautiful tiny blue flowers on the rosemary bush planted in DM’s memory.
Chatting to our nice post lady who knocked on the door with a parcel, little dog adores her as she always makes a fuss of her.
Equine girlie falling asleep in the sun whilst I tidied up her mane, tail and legs. She had rested her head on the fence and bottom lip went all wobbly :rotfl:
Meat free Monday, crispy fried halloumi with spicy cashew cauli rice, yum.0
