Glad to hear that your Mum is recuperating Frith, shame about Mr A working away
Tuesday pleasures,
Scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Busy but productive morning, another bag filled up for the CS.
Took small dog to pet SM to find a couple of new toys, she must have left her last two in the garden as they have disappeared, perhaps the foxes have had them to play withAnyways after much deliberation she now has a squeaky cow and a fruit bone.
Stuffed chicken thighs with roasted root veg for tea, am also sticking to the BSD Frith although not the strict 800, pleased with the results.
A very impressive sunset on one side of the cottage with the full moon rising through the trees on the other, love my home.0 -
Took cable car thing to Union Square. BoPsie hit Macy’s. BoP found a man cave. I was in the man cave some time.
Today wes off to Alcatraz. More later.0 -

Hello. Just having a relax before I get dolled up and of out for dinner with friends.
What a day! I walked to the allotment, I got through the gates...first time on my own...there's a knack to the padlock. Hurrah thought I. Let's just mulch the path between beds thought I. Did that. Went to shut door on tool shed and it was broken! It's an old metal container. So I spent a further 3.5 hours at allotment than planned. Finally chap called me back ( he'd been at work) and he said just lock main gates and he would come down. I didn't want to leave it wide open.
He's just phoned to say the floor had rusted away and collapsed and door fell down it ...so not technically my fault and that yes we should have other points of contact than him! So I've not been barred and he's told me where he's moved the tools to!
Anyway. I hoed, weeded, de-stoned a bed and filled it with bucket after bucket of manure!
I watched and listened to birds, I saw bees. The trees are budding. It stayed mainly dry. I was very grateful for my £2 new to me fleece jacket as it was just the perfect thing to wear today. There were lots of daffodils and hoping others will be generous with their rhubarb! It wasn't the worst place to be curtailed!
Got some more RTC primula for some tubs at front, they just need a good drink.
Have bought my friends a bunch of tulips each....as I'm nice like that!
I'll be having pate then lasagne for my tea!
Right, better go and get ready! Have a nice evening!0 -
For yesterday
1 We popped out for an hours change of scenery today, but the CS’s held on to their secrets, and the fruit and veg stall announced it’s shutting down in a few weeks pfft not good, but nice to be out for a little.
2 4 of the 6 trays of seedlings are making an appearance.
3 Inspired by Jack Monroes Tweeted recipes, tonights food is chickpea, cawli turmeric rice curry and nan bread. Though I did add turkey strips as I’m not vegetarian and I think DH may revolt.
4 Embracing my not so inner tree hugger self and moon gazing a little.
5 Animal antics.
For today
1 Up and went for my jab, while I was there explained the problem and urgency of an apt with receptionist and got one for tomorrow.
2 Went to Lidl, with DH, which meant he picked up some power tools, and we picked up a garden storage box for bins, our last one lasted 12 years so not to bad. Picked up some baking camembert as I love the stuff
3 Did a little bit of gardening, dug over some pots and put some seeds in, watched bumbles on the cherry blossom and created a rather large bag of weeds, we have more than 1 tip runs worth of stuff waiting now.
4 HM Burger and hm chips for dinner.
5 Watching the animals enjoying the garden.0 -
Alcatraz. Done. Tour. Pretty harsh place. Now inn Ferry Terminal. Mushroom soup. Tasty. Bin on bus of trolley. Now off down Market Street.

Lainey - I lost 26lbs last year on the BSD (in 8 weeks) so hoping for results again this time.
Pleasures for today (Thursday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) The main road from our village is shut which meant going lots of "back ways", through hill and vale, villages I don't often see etc. Went to floody city to see my school friend for a cup of tea.
4) Stopped on the way home as one of the people from archaeology has given me some raspberry canes.
5) BSD continues - yoghurt and berries for breakfast, hummus and carrot for lunch, kedgeree with cauli rice for tea.
6) Took bigger son to town for more injections for Nepal. Went to the library while I was there for sheet music and to Wilkos for wine yeast.
7) Bumped into the neighbour who wanted a tour of the septic tank (!) - shared and about half a mile from our cottages. Then we got talking about trees that need felling and also our weird boundary and she suggested exactly what I had been thinking! This would happen next year (hopefully) and would mean a more sensibly shaped garden for me and much better access for them...
8) Bigger son went to games night with my brother and brother in law.
9) A chat on the phone (how old fashioned!) with MrA. :-)0 -
Thursday pleasures,
Dropped the clothes off at the BHF CS and had a nice chat with the lady in there.
Another chat with the lady in the emporium who was collecting on behalf of Dogs Trust.
I have been doing some online surveys and it’s been an interesting learning curve as to which ones are good and which ones to avoid, after 6 instances when I got so far and supplied a decent amount of data before being told I wasn’t suitable I deleted my account with one.
The sun came out in the afternoon and it was pleasantly warm so princess pony got a mini bath, now she is going out without a rug the dark soil of the fens is more apparent
Watched two episodes of After Life, laugh out loud funny but also very sad.0 -
Raining. So staying dry today. Museum.
Last night BoP feasted on Dungeness Crab Cakes. Dogfish IPA was sampled. Yous not want too much.
Now off to breakfest of croissant and tea.
Nearly forgot. :heartpuls to LT for the BHF bag.0
