Hello. Bedtime for me. Son is picking up daughter after her work. She's just texted to say it might be a late one. He's said 'I've got work in the morning!' I said you sound like an old grandpa! He doesn't get out of bed till the last possible minute!
Today I was ever so slightly ahead of myself! The lovely big clock I had in Australia never made it in one piece so I look at the thermostat clock which is still an hour ahead as I never bothered to read the manual to see how to change it and anyway it will be the right time again soon! I usually always know to knock an hour off. However this morning I saw 9.55am , realised I'd to be out by 10am and dashed out! Of course it was really only 8.55am but I didn't realise until I'd got to destination, DD wasn't there and I went to call her and it was 9.15am! Duh!
Anyway I popped into vets and picked up flea and worm treatment for doggy. He does love a flea treat! It's a chewy one! Wormers have to be disguised as cheese triangles!
Rather than go home to head back out again I sat in car at vets. And watched the animals go in and out.
Another day of wet.
Haggis had visitors this afternoon. Two lady doggies. One old and one ( his girl friend) much younger. He was very pleased to see them both. Exhausted themselves running up and down the length of downstairs. Nice chit chat with their owners.
Had sausage rolls and beans for tea as I really couldn't be bothered making.
May have peeked at some birthday gifts, I'm really terrible! Far too nosy. Just a peek and put them back!0 -
Pleasures for today (Tuesday).
One from after I wrote my pleasures last night - the NHS (once again). This time for sending an ambulance to my mum after she blacked out and knocked herself on the head on the Welsh dresser on the way to the floor. It took her over 2 hours to talk normally and she refused to go to hospital. And to the GP who checked her over again this morning.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Had eyebrows and beard threaded.
3) Blood Sugar Diet continues...
4) Hens well and 2 eggs.
5) Helped smaller son with his last (ever?) piece of catering coursework.
6) Dusted and tidied upstairs and changed the beds.
7) Bigger son has gone to see MrN's son5.
8) My brother came round.
9) Seeing MrA tomorrow. :-)0 -

Pleasures for yesterday:
1. Finished 'The Simple Path to Wealth'. Would highly, highly recommend. Was interesting and informative and gave me a kick up the bum. Have adjusted direct debits so half of our monthly income will go to investments. It means we will have to be very disciplined!!
2. Job news - which should hopefully mean we both get pay rises in the next couple of months. Though, with our new found strategy of saving half it won't change our lifestyles!
3. Lunch was suprisingly delicious. On Sunday I batch cooked mushroom and lentil bolognese and raw 'courguetti'. I froze 6 portions and had my first one yesterday (lunch on Monday was provided by company). It was DELICIOUS which I was not expecting. Having it again today with some spinach and fruit.
4. Snuggles with kitty cat in bed, whilst I read next to my smelly candle.
5. House is tidy because I was the only person in it :rotfl:0 -
A run out through the country lanes this morning and finding entire roadside banks covered with wide open celandines, bright and beautiful.
Blue sky and sunshine, makes such a difference to your mood I find.
Reductions in the farm shop, lovely piece of Brie de Meux reduced to half price, a whole black pudding ring for £2.72 and a of pork and black pudding sausages for £2.37p, yum!
Baby lambs in the fields now, many many of them.
Best pleasure was we called in to the motorway service station on the way for a coffee and were sat in the window of the restaurant when along the path outside skipped a little lamb wearing a blue collar, he was from the City Farm, a 4 week old who had been hand reared, as relaxed as you can be when you're a lamb and totally socialised with people. The people who had brought him came because they thought people would like him and because he likes people. Such a sweetie and many little children flocking round didn't spook him at all, he just loved it.0 -
Breakfast. Wolfed down. Tea now Starbrokes.
Powell Street. Cable car found.
Not seen Ironside yet!0 -
Good evening.
A damp start but dried up and was at best mild but dull. Washing out for a while this afternoon.
Poor doggy had an upset tummy. So much in and out into garden. Was feeling very sorry for himself. Went to T to get him some chicken for his dinner and got some very RTC primulas.
Planted them whilst he ate his chicken and rice. 3 more portions for tomorrow.
For us it was a curry and rice.
Friend popped in.
Cleaned the inside of my car. There's a bit of a damp smell. I had the back seat down and think a damp shopping bag may have been underneath ( all I can think of) anyway, its been wiped down and hoovered and a wee pot of bicarbonate of soda put inside. Had the windows down for an hour to get some fresh air.
The niecelys popped in. GN had a shower so they could stay longer.
Bathrooms cleaned and floors washed ( sigh! Again...floor washing has been a daily task with wet doggy paws! )0 -
Pier 39. Done. Alcatraz boat sourced for later.
Still no sign of Ironside. Tea is being drunk.0 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son went to school with no bother. The Autism Team went in to talk to him (first time in 7 years!!) and no one thought he would speak to them but he did, at great length, including jokes. :-D
3) Bigger son worked with my brother in the morning.
4) Went to see my mum who is on the mend, with an impressively bruised eye and head.
5) Went to archaeology which was really good, including tea and a barbecue.
6) Neighbour gave me 2 terracotta pots from her garden.
7) Went to see MrA :-) Bit sad that he is working away for some time.
8) Saw 2 rabbits and a muntjac on my way home.0
