What a busy day, chez Frith!

    1) Not a bad sleep. Woken by smaller son shouting in his sleep.

    2) The coffee morning! We worked out there were more than 50 people, table tennis went down well. Bigger son made £270!

    3) Hens well.

    4) Took smaller son and his friend to the football.

    5) I went geocaching along the canal while they were occupied and found 7.

    6) My brother came to watch the Man Utd match.

    7) Seeing MrA tomorrow. :-)

Morning. Glad to just be up and about after a rubbishy sleep. Beautiful sunrise & light at 6am.

Another quiet day yesterday. It just lashed with rain for most of day. Parts of our town were flooded . Not up our end though thankfully.

Nice doggy walk later when it was dry. With old lady dog.

Had mince and tatties for tea...with dumplings and cabbage and was simple yet yummy.

Road trip today to go see my new puppy nephews!

    Saturday pleasures,

Weather was horrendous so a hunker down at home kind of day.

Bit of a tidy of spare wardrobe and found 3 handbags to donate to CS, in essence I use the same 2 year in, year out so they can go and let someone else have the pleasure.

Freezer dive so Carrot & Butternut Squash soup for lunch.

Lazy, dozy afternoon on the sofa as rain lashed against the windows.

Spanish chicken for tea and then, inspired by Friday night, we watched Four Weddings and a Funeral, great fun.

VJsmum, I’m half way through one you’ve read, How To Stop Time. He’s a new author to me, don’t know where I’ve been:o. I was trying to gather up my guts to go along to a reading club on my own, this was on their reading list, I happened across it in a 3 for a pound CS. I’m looking forward to reading his next would you recommend Reasons to Stay Alive?

Hi, I loved that book. Reasons to stay alive is another excellent book - but it isn't a novel. it is about his own mental breakdown and recovery (literally back from the cliff edge). it's written in very short chapters so is easy to pick up and put down. I believe Humans is a novel and there's quite a few kids books too but I haven't read those, and have no one in the appropriate age bracket to buy them for...

Another one who isn't sleeping all that well - I keep waking up at 6, or sooner and i'm an 8 hour a night girl usually.

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. I didn't have to go anywhere and it was revolting out.

    2. Friend came for coffee

    3. Had a lovely bathy, with an avocado bath bomb and Baptiste

    4. V and I had left over veggie curries for tea.

    5. Cymru am byth - Grand Slam!! :T

Have a lovely Sunday all - I am taking bike no. 2 to be mended, then V and I are going out for Brunch. She is going off to play dungeons and dragons and i'm on late night taxi duty - hope I stay awake...
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • The rain has stopped, the sky is blue and the sun is shining, measureless pleasures in that sentence alone!

Wonderful concert last night, Handel, Bach and Vivaldi, choral music well performed is like listening to mental baklava, many layers, beautiful sweetness and some lovely 'nutty' bits in the solo performances, throw in a venue as majestic as the Cathedral and it's an evening to be savoured and appreciated.

Our to lunch today as it's our 41st wedding anniversary today, where did all that time go?

Last day of dog sitting, Ruby goes home this afternoon, she's been a bit of a trial this time so that will be a pleasure to get the house back to normal. Currently like baby proofing with things up high and baby gates on!

DD1, James and the boys coming for tea which will be nice to round off the weekend.

Killed by man following his tale

Of the others who only stare

Staying Alive is the next one then, I'll have to keep an eye out in the CSs as I'm sure I saw one.

I’m not convinced today could have got much more lazy.

1 Bird feeders refilled, fish fed, 2 wash loads done.

2 Tea was a chop with pesto pasta.

3 Took the clean matting back out to the caravan bathroom, repacked the van bathroom up now it’s all clean and shelf mended and dried. Next up now on the kitchen side is all of the fridge shelving and oven shelving in to go through the dishwasher, I’ve disinfected the fridge, just need to pop some oven cleaner in tomorrow to finish off.

4 There may have been a cream cake.

    What a beautiful day.

Beautiful sunrise. Pale lilacs and pinks at just after 6am. Quick doggy walk on the frosty paths.

Set off to the other side of the country. Lots of snow on the hills. Sun shine. Lambs. Traffic not too bad ...was trying hard not to be a back seat driver!

Met my new puppy nephews. So much fun and far too much energy...we left them zonked in a pile of entanglement.

Lovely lunch. Chicken, rice , salad . A pudding of tiny pancakes with bananas and salted caramel and meringue crumbs. Perfectly stuffed.

    Much laughter and chatter.

Popped into my aunts on the way home. Had tried to phone with no answer but just decided to chance our luck. No answer at front door so went round back thunk the dog was surprised to see this random woman at the patio door! They were in. So quick half hour or so saying hello then home we came.

Was just taking H out when OH best friend was going by with his dog so walked a bit of the way with them then headed back. My friend /neighbour had been looking after H for us today which was kind and meant we didn't have to rush back.

Just been out with him for his last pee and its blooming freezing! I'd started to decorate for 'Spring' having came home with bunches of daffodils and camelias and hazel branches. Shall continue tomorrow but have came to bed.

    It's been a good day :)

    3) Hens well and worked with me on the allotment for a while.

    4) Tidied the downstairs.

    5) Just back from my 5th date with MrA :-)

Ooh lucky Mhags with puppy cuddles.

    Sunday pleasures,

Up early to a bright, sunny but most importantly less windy morning, the sun has moved around enough to hit my back door as it rises, that’s the start of Spring to me.

A Flying V of Brent geese passing over the cottage, leaving us for their summer homes.

Lazy morning, all things Ambridge, pots of coffee and bacon may have been involved.

Visited pony in the afternoon, got to the yard just as the most ferocious hailstorm hit so did nothing more than give her a good groom in her stable.

Smoked cheddar and oatcakes for supper.
