Hello. Turned from a grey morning to a beautiful blue skied afternoon .
Up early . Much to be done. Last day of my 40s.
Down at l!dl for it opening. Got a few things RTC. But mainly party stuff.
Cleaned bathrooms, hoovered , washed floors all before heading to allotment . There was a mix up in the extra one I'd taken on so had to go and choose. The one I selected has a rhubarb plant. Hurrah! Then chap in charge said help yourself to mine, he doesn't like it! Hurrah!
Washings out and washings in.
Created a cake! A number 50 chocolate cake .
Sister arrived...with rhubarb crowns and courgette and sweetcorn plants.
Popped down to neighbour friend with dog boy and a bag of rhubarb ! Nice chat.
Family gathering here later around 7pm ish.0 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday).
1) Not a bad sleep, from what I recall.
2) Took sons to school/college.
3) Did the charity shops but couldn't find anything.
4) Brother had done some more work putting up my greenhouse.
5) Hens well.
6) BSD still going OK.
7) Messages from MrA.
8) Went to see my sister and niece. Bigger son started to climb up niece's treehouse tree and she was congratulating him when he lost his footing for a minute. "Oh well done, M... oh, maybe not..." which really tickled me!
9) Nice tea of salmon, pulses and roast veg.0 -
early start this morning for conference in Edinburgh
1) met up with colleagues at station then shared a taxi to Surgeons' Hall
2) good conference, nice lunch, finishing with fizz
3) train home, given complementary quiche (we were in the 1st 2nd class carriage after 1st class - guessing it was left over from 1st class - hooray for the trend in not throwing away food)
4) walk home, catch up with xoh on the mobile
5) and now home to my boys. fleabag series 2 episode 3 before bed. being good and watching in kitchen rather than taking computer upstairs. keeping up my good evening habitsMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

2 Leftover Chinese was lunch.
3 DH and I cleaned both cars inside and out, which lead on to jet washing the whole driveway.
4 Ordered some hair stuff, feels like a very luxurious treat, I hope it’s as good as it reads.

Happy Birthday wishes Mhags x
Thursday pleasures,
Scrambled egg and bacon for breakfast.
The small birds stripping the lawn of moss before heading off with beaks full to the beech trees, anticipation of baby birds.
My first month of completing online surveys has netted a decent amount.
Early cloud cleared and it was a sunny afternoon.
Tied up the gone over Daffs and generally pottered in the garden.
Not a great day with ramped up tinnitus so an early night to snuggle down with my book.0 -
PK. You’re the sole reeses chocolate eater!
DD. Easy on the fizz. It could make yous end up like BoP.
Did the Nautical Park yesterday. Well worth it and no bloody stupid pirates either. I mentioned this passim. Today back there after Starbrokes breakfast. Then off to twisty street thing.
Don’t know where picnic will be. More later.0 -
Happy Birthday Mhagster xx0

One is fabulously fifty!
With no grey hair...all gone at hairdressers. Hair cut short.
Lunch out with family. At local castle. Though not one I usually go to. Lots round here!
Friends popped in and out . Just as I wanted. Buffet tea and a cake shaped like the number 50 filled with my favourite sweets and cakes.
Some nice gifts and some nice cards and nice flowers and donations towards OH oncologist research .
All tidied ( by me!!!) but couldn't bear coming down tomorrow and dealing with it then.0 -
