Laetere Sunday, half way through Lent, refreshment Sunday, aka Mothering Sunday, and the morning we lost an hour's sleep. Mothering Sunday, a difficult day for many. My love to any who are grieving.
1) mrpiano ('world-class musician according to yesterday's local newspaper after his playing at the Caird Hall) was playing anthem at church so we were early!!!
2) lovely service (though we did run out of posies, having made up 90 on Saturday so had to snaffle 4 back from self and friends!)
3) lunch with mum and dd2 then home with dd2 to walk dogs
4) gbf is home from 4 months in NZ yay. he came round for a cuppa then gave me a lift back to
5) Compline, a service we have monthly, and I'm allowed in the choir yay.
Just finished a lish supper (courgette, tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, tub of olives that needed using up with pasta, enough for tomorrow's lunch) now need to pack for tomorrow, off to glasgow till wednesdayMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Bedtime. I'd to decide between Victoria and Line of Duty and chose the first as I could do bits and bobs during the ad breaks.
It's been a beautiful day here. And hurrah for lighter nights and a beautiful sunrise and sunset.
DD2 not very well but made sure she was okay enough for me to go to allotment, left in the tender loving care of Nurse Haggis. Beautiful walk down all umpty thump hills up and down. Lots of lambs in the fields.
Did an hours weeding. Just me and my new bed with its beautiful soil and then there's a community herb garden that one lady normally tends but she's not well so I thought I'd make a start. It's in the shape of a very big star so weeded one of the points. Radio on in my back pocket, sun gently warm. Bees. Birds ...heron flew over , heard the ducks from the river just over the wall. Robins, bluebirds and blackbirds.
Met so many people I knew! Broke the big climb up the last hill just nicely!
I did pop round to my mother's but no reply so popped her thing through the letter box! It's a funny old day. Not everyone has a healthy and happy relationship. It's a day that reminds some of who they've lost and for those who would love to be mothers but can't. I just find the whole thing so overly commercialised.
Had a lovely chat with my Australian girl. Who was in bed as it was late there. Need to think about time differences again, then she will change again next week!
Home and stripped DD's bed whilst she was still in it! That got her up...as far as the sofa. Cleaned her windows and changed her bed and hoovered then got her back in.
A wee walk later with her. Met more people so more chit chats!
Son came home from climbing mountains. When asked about Mothers Day he asked when it was....today son, today!
Nice chat with friend on phone.
That extra hour ! How wonderful to still be light at 8pm!0 -
BoP is at the wobbleade counter at SFO. No more later. This has bin a fabulous break. Now back to Blighty and all that. Happy Monday all be with you later.0

Safe journey home to the Bopettes.

Sunday pleasures,
Back pain bad so quiet day at home, good start though with bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Radio left on to then catch DID with Martin Freeman followed by much hilarity on JAM.
Roast chicken dinner, no pots but couldn’t resist a small dish of stuffing.
Sunny afternoon, supervised Capt S in trimming apple tree and fought the instinct to help out. We have left it late this year but having been caught a few times by rogue branches on way to washing line they had to go.
Thinking of my Mum, I miss her everyday so no need for a special day to do so.0 -
BoP is back. Now hunt for the cat soon. More later.0

Hello.
Been a chilly and mostly wet day here. Had heating on this afternoon as it was so cool!
Today has been spent moving furniture around. It's taken most of my day. All by myself. Much humphing and pushing and pulling. Lounge furniture into family room and vice versa but had to go via patio doors and through extension.
Quick pop to T and as well as Diet Coke which is what I was going for got 3 decent sized plants reduced to 50p each! 2 fuscia and a campanula.
Library bus came so borrowed 3 books.
Had lasagne for tea.
Friend popped in with birthday gift and card and is just away. I have so many cards!
Mr dog in his element as 7 'new' balls in his toy basket...found under 4 sofas! ( along with dust bunnies)0 -
Weclome back BOP, what shopping did you bring back?
Lainey, I hope your back improves, I'm finding I'm having to be careful with mine also these days, gardening and cleaning the house sets it up rather badly.
1 Up early to get the new chap to the vet for a check he’s doing well but has to return Friday.
2 Paid big bills today, not entirely a pleasure, but nice to be able, and to pay for the year rather than debits.
3 Planning camping dates.
4 I had to wait for the animals to fell asleep before I could make it into the green house, potted up the tomato seedlings.
5 Put a hair mask on and used it as an excuse to read a book for an hour, and hair feels lovely.
6 I popped to Mr T tonight, and it was just right, no one was there and there was a lot of well everything really, 7 loads of chicken varying from whole chicken to drumsticks all at 60p, also pork and 3 lots of mince all at 90p so I snaffled it all. Artisan bread, and rather a lot of fruit. I was chatting to the lady at the checkout saying it was lovely to get the timing right, she was saying how polite I am worringly really to what they must put up with. I was explaining the meat will be portioned up for the animals and frozen, we will have the whole chicken and pork. I also explained we dehydrate various tomatoes and most of the fruit. I will cook up the pears and create a crumble, as we already have a lot of them dehydrated. So I’ve just spent an hour portioning and chopping up the chicken, mince into boxes and freezing it down for the animals. The bread is also in the freezer.0
