1. Met a friend for coffee. She looked good and relaxed. We had a long chat.
2. Met an old colleague on the train. I changed jobs about 16 years ago and I worked with her in my last job. We had a quick catch up.
3. DS1 have me lift to station in the afternoon. Good thing as parking was very limited as the car park was being resurfaced. Had to change trains to get to London.
4. Nice meal out and given drinks for free as a long wait for the table.
5. Went to see an opera. Very enjoyable.0 -
Slowly de-jet-lagging and disliking Northern hemisphere weather.
Horrid contrast.

1. Addenbrookes hand surgery, for which & specifically returned, not done. Extras needed. Excellent straight discussion from consultant surgeon and houseman. & is left-handed: what was done to right hand several years back is apparently less than required now. Won't be driving for a bit, nor Spits-ing. On verra. Just want it done asap. Bless all under so many pressures in the NHS.
2. Many violets out and still the smazy scent of wintersweet.
3. Made pancakes, late for Shrove Tuesday, but fine for just now. Yum with maple syrup and fresh lemon. 4 left.
4. Made it to Church jumble yesterday, for many hugs and Hello's. Suddenly tired, back to &squat, hot chocolate and 2hwbs.
5. Some lovely NZ rtn messages and no nasty post back here. Bonus - JL free cake+drink vouchers, £50 chq.
6. Actually undid both suitcases yesterday and lofted them.
7. Loving all r4x, acquaintance renewed -a glorious Cyrano de Bergerac, Mr Finchley, DID, Stephen Fry, etc etc.

Another lovely drive along the golden valley and the wild daffodils are even more prolific and beautiful this week.
Coffee at the garden centre and finding the last few bits for the boys Easter presents.
A bank covered in deep purple violets just up the road, I so love violets!
Finding a tray bake recipe book that is vegan and veggie, fabulous recipes and nothing we wouldn't love.
Not having to sit drying my hair for 15 minutes this morning, I had it cut short on Friday hoorah!
Salmon steaks for supper this evening.0 -
Alas, DfW, up on the common there are people who take a liking to removing the daffs of wild! They say they protect them!
V Just had snorker and mash for dinner. Pan griddled with onions, chopped carrots and proper mash with pan gravy! Then washed up the last of the xmas pud and instant lumpy custard! Nice and proper tasty.
4 Watched First Man last night. Didn't thinks they would make it this time, but was very good! Wobblesades were consumed.
3 Just checked the pennies for the BoP Tour. Pennies are ok. Dollars to be ordered. Nor from bank, they rips you off! BoPsie cannot contain herself!
2 Night another flick I thinks after the gooooners. DD. We is finished! Finito. Next season!
Not having one today!
Not a surprise that was it!0 -
Hello. A day of not even getting dressed! Not in a 'can't be bothered way' more a I actually feel like being comfy and just wearing my pyjamas! Very unusual but remarkably comfy!
Up early. DD1 had messaged to say she'd booked flights for summertime. Ping. Ping. Ping. Thought I should check phone in case it was important.
Dog snuggles this morning, he's been having his snuggles with DD2 of late so it was nice to be cuddled in to.
Rain! Snow! Sleet! Hail! Repeat often. A very squally day.
Washings done. Hoovering done.
Had an RTC steak pie for tea. Would usually make my own but this was cheaper and tasty. Served with roasted potatoes with rosemary and cabbage, carrots and the very, very last of the sprouts!
All is quiet ( for now) son out on his bike and DD out with a friend. She keeps texting me asking for a rabbit as they are in the pet shop again! Nooooooo!0 -
