  • 1 I went out to Mr T only for RTC's I picked up peppers, grapes and pears, salad and coleslaw for a total of £1.30, then picked up 2 portions of the proper ham for 60p.
2 We went out today to the next town on's Charity shops and picked up more than ever before, fleece for the animals, toys for the animals, and you guessed it animal pads. Also a big book of vintage scrap book paper, 3 for a pound books, a cool box we have been keeping an eye out for ages for. Some paraphanalia with a ferret name on and a gorgeous purple velvet per una skirt
3 Stopped in at Aldee for milk and walked out with pineapples and toffee apple cider as well, great place.
4 The dehydrator is fully loaded with pears, pineapples and grapes.
5 Pasta bake is cooking away packed with lentils and veg.

Back again with my pleasures for today.

    Lovely dog walks.

Bagged myself a wee treat at hairdressers. They needed a short hair do to be blow dried...mine was that do! Took ages but looked lovely and I took my book and read.

Niece had came up. She's starting an online business so DD and I were helping her with that. DD did the tech stuff . I did the pretty photos. DD felt the baby kick and was quite thrilled.

Another pre dog dinner walk....he always hurries up once he's done his business as he knows next on the agenda is dinner!

I was upstairs when son came home from work. 'Where's mum?' he asked his sister then came up to say hello...then what's for dinner but hello is an improvement!

Have been given some free beauty products to trial by niece. I'm rather low maintenance ...and it was the anti-ageing range but hey! It's a freebie!

Heating has been on most of day but have switched it off now as I'm upstairs! Dogs had an early out and about and son is away to the mountains. I'm being a responsible smart meter owner!

    It's snowing again!
  • Just home from visiting ds, ddil and grandkids. Reviving myself with a wee whisky. My five for today are;

    1) All buses going were on time and met ddil and dgs in Costa's 3 miles from their home.

    2) Had a lovely cheese and ham toastie from Costas for lunch.

    3) Helped dgd to knit a bow for her hair. She is going to knitting classes. Laugh of the day was when dgd said she hoped I would be knitting till I was a 100, but if I died before then not to worry as she would carry on my knitting. HELP - I think she's after my wool stash.

    4) DS was home before I left so I got a lift down hill to the bus stop. Very grateful as it was snowing a blizzard when I left.

    5) Arrived home 2 hours and 45 minutes later and not a bit of snow here.

Just waiting for electric blanket to heat before going to bed xx

    Pleasures for today (Friday).

    1) A lie in.

    2) Hens well and I managed to get the tap thawed down there.

    3) Smaller son allowed bigger son to drive him for the first time. He drove us to Sainsburys.

    4) Pie and chips from the van for tea.

    5) Mr Stove (as bigger son calls him) reappeared with a sheet of fire brick stuff and put the stove back for me.

    6) The temperature of the house rose from 15 degrees to 23 throughout!

    7) Pie and chips from the van for tea.

    8) Have been watching television from the sofa, basking in the heat.

    9) In bed now with 2 hwb and will listen to the News Quiz. Very sad news about Jeremy Hardy earlier today :-(

    Good Morning Folks,

Can't remember the last time I managed to list anything, so a random list for this week......

    4. Not well again. (Cough and cold). Glad to come home to a warm home and the wood burner.

    5. Skies have been amazing on the way to work.

    6. DH's car has passed it's MOT.

    Friday pleasures,

Cleaning the house, not a pleasure at the time but certainly when finished.

Went down to the co-op in the village and picked up some good rtc bargains.

A tiny wren, just seen moving through the hedge.

    Made Paella for tea.

A vase of daffodils and white candles on the hearth in celebration of Imbolc.

    Have a great time &
I look on paying tax as a privilege bop - i know too many people struggling who don't earn enough to pay much tax. When i was self-employed my accountant told me to put 1/3 away for tax, so i'd always have a nice little 'tax refund' when it came to do my returns.
Very very sad to read of the death of Jeremy Hardy Shadwell the boom boy. He and Sandy were a great pair on the newsquiz.
    For yesterday
    1) mrpiano dropped me off at work - first meeting had coffee and croissants :P
    2) met friend for lunch - we had all day breakfast at the pub opposite uni and got the table by the fire :D
    3) great meeting at DJCAD - bumped into two people i knew en route but still managed to get there on time!
    4) a catch up with some great guys at the phoenix.
    5) delighted that another friend had arranged unbeknownst to either of us to meet 4 other friends, 1 of whom i knew. we went off for a curry and now of course they're all friends :D (though sadly for me gay and / or attached so still no romance for me)

gran3 definately my niece! New baby due in May. I'm quite happy just being a great auntie for now :):)

Another stunning day here in a blooming freezing kind of way. We'd another fall of snow last night but no more today. Sky is blue and sun shining.

Had a blue tit in my garden. I only ever occasionally see them here so it's always thrilling when I do.

Chap came and picked up slabs...turns out they're going to a community garden and allotments and guess who's going to get one! Me! I'm most excited. I miss my big veg plots from my Melbourne garden. It's about a 15 minute walk from here.

Went to T and using my mums £6 off £40 spend voucher did a shop. Stocked up on dog food and loo roll! Amongst other things.

A lovely request from niece in law. Can they come visit next weekend? Oh yes. Get to squish my great nephew. He's 4 months old so much more squishable than he was at 4 days!

    Some nice doggy walks.

The streeeeetching out of each day. Much prefer the light to the dark.

Nice chat with my sister on phone.
