gran3 definately my niece! New baby due in May. I'm quite happy just being a great auntie for now
Another stunning day here in a blooming freezing kind of way. We'd another fall of snow last night but no more today. Sky is blue and sun shining.
Had a blue tit in my garden. I only ever occasionally see them here so it's always thrilling when I do.
Chap came and picked up slabs...turns out they're going to a community garden and allotments and guess who's going to get one! Me! I'm most excited. I miss my big veg plots from my Melbourne garden. It's about a 15 minute walk from here.
Went to T and using my mums £6 off £40 spend voucher did a shop. Stocked up on dog food and loo roll! Amongst other things.
A lovely request from niece in law. Can they come visit next weekend? Oh yes. Get to squish my great nephew. He's 4 months old so much more squishable than he was at 4 days!
Some nice doggy walks.
The streeeeetching out of each day. Much prefer the light to the dark.
Nice chat with my sister on phone.
Did you ever visit the St Kilda community allotment in Melbourne Mhagster? So lovely and colourful. Not sure which side of Melbs you were in. We have family in Vic and visit once or twice a year.Carolbee0 -
Different part of the city from us carolbee but most areas have one or two I think. We had one in the library gardens and library was just 5 minutes walk away ( as everything was in my wee town...sigh!) there would often be excess veg and herbs left on the counter for people to take. DD1 now lives in the next suburb to the one we were In & they've a huge community garden. Often passed them on the train into the city!0

1 A quick mop around to clean up and a washing load on.
2 Popped to lidl to pick up the cheese and pecans on the weekend offer, I went later in the day to avoid more people than needed.
3 I picked up Fish and chips for dinner on the way back as a suprise treat.
4 A box of liquers from christmas has been put on the side it may not last.
5 Remembered to be in it to win it, well who knows.
6 Loving all of the extra birds in the garden sparrows, black birds, blue and long tailed tits, a robin and I'm facinated by a wagtail that arrived today.0 -
Pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son made French toast and fruit for breakfast.
3) Hens well.
4) Cheese and tuna on toast for lunch.
5) Bigger son had an interview at Go Ape but left not sure whether he'd been offered the job or not! They pencilled him in for a training day and shook his hand as he left and said, "Welcome to the team!" but he is going to wait for the email (!)
6) Watched Casualty.
7) Kedgeree for tea.
In annoying news, I managed to swoosh smaller son's phone off the table as I tidied it up and it's completely smashed. :-/0 -
Saturday pleasures,
Rough night and woke with bad sinus pain, pleasure of eucalyptus oil and painkillers.
Did have boiled egg with soldiers for breakfast.
Nothing much achieved but watched some football, then some cricketand finally the P Jackson documentary about WW1, hard to see at times.
Cuddles with small dog.
Abandoned original dinner plans and we had jacket spuds with beans.0 -
1. Met a friend for coffee. Had a long chat.
2. Repotted a couple of house plants. Need to do more of them but at least I've started.
3. DS2 friends came over to watch the rugby and stayed the night. They had cooked chicken wings but house was left in a very tidy state when I arrived back with DH.
4. We went to the theatre to see curious incident of the dog in the night time. I really enjoyed it even if painkillers were increased!
5. Train journey home was good.0 -
Hello. It's been a day of humphing stuff around from room to room.
Console table out my room and into dining room.
Chair out of living room and up to my room .
Chair out of dining room and out one patio door and in through the other into the living room!
DD1 room moved around . DD2 uses the wardrobe in there and went through her things and I dropped 3 bin liners full of stuff at clothes bin.
Picked up a new to me rug. Goes perfectly between kitchen into dining room. 'Why are there tins of peaches on the rug?' asked both children. To me it was an obvious answer of keeping a previously rolled up rug flat!
Nice photos sent of new family puppies!
A bit of a thaw setting in. Wet with patches of ice and snow.0 -
Good Morning,
Gave up on sleep, due to my cough and DH snoring.
Weekend
1. Unsuccessful early morning shopping trip rewarded with hot chocolate in Costa. Paid with gift card. :j
2. Used coupon in Mr W and got some more till spits. Then popped to Oxfam and got a book. (Not helping with the decluttering!).
3. Invited to friends for Chinese takeaway. Brilliant idea.
4. WhatsApp chat with DD.
5. Some stuff listed on EBay.
6. Steak and chips for tea.
7. Call the Midwife and early night. (Ha! Much good that did!).
I really should stay home and nurse this cough before it becomes a chest infection, but need to go to a meeting this morning.......feeling elderly and wishing I could retire
Hoping for a lovely day0 -
House elf i sympathise and wish I could retire too. Or find a job which I enjoy.
Quiet day looking after my back so I can go back to work and an hour's drive so will be back at square 1.
1. DS2 friends all got up and left after drinking copious amounts of water.
2. DH went to a travel show with free tickets. I decided it may not be ideal for my back.
3. Spent time in greenhouse. It felt warm with the sun on it and I sowed some seeds. Nice easy pottering.
4. Daw my neighbour - he was in the garden. He has been in hospital so good to see him out. Hopefully he will feel better soon.
5. DS2 cooked and lots of leftovers.
6. Got rid of more clutter in DS1 old bedroom as he is moving back next weekend. I have under a week to get rid of loads as the house has no space in it as it is.0
