    Good Morning All,

VL Sorry to hear about DMiL. Glad you still went away for a few days.

I have felt sad about DM at times over Christmas. Very strange, beacause we never got on well, but I think Christmas was always my chance to give it another try. Never succeeded though :rotfl:

    Yesterday

    1. The builders are back :j

    2. More EBay listing and have bids already :j

    3. Found some half price plastic storage drawers for school, in Argos. A step towards getting organised. :D

    4. Made a big stir fry for lunch using up more leftovers.

    5. The Favourite at the cinema. (2 for 1 Wednesday and a reduced price ticket from Smart Spending app. :j ). Funny, and a good story. DH has been Googling the story and the real life characters. I'm pretty sure they didn't mention any of this when we went to Blenheim Palace :rotfl:

Still feeling poorly. Could do with a PJ day, but the builders are back and noisy. I think I may pop out to make family appointments at the Dentist, optician, podiatrist etc. Also, I have arranged to meet my French friend at Craft Club tonight, and it would be far too cold to go there in PJs. We will need our thermals :rotfl:

    Have a lovely day :)

So sorry for your loss, VL

Glad the loo is cleared Mhags - i hate loo brushes too and refuse to have them but maybe i need an emergency one hidden somewhere. I'm told a mop will do the same thing - but maybe not do the floors with it after ...:p

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. Typically it was a gloriously, clear, sunny, blue sky kind of day in ICT - just as i was leaving. But i got up early and did my chores so that i could do a circuit.
    2. Train was fine, relatively uncrowded
    3. OH and DS were going to MiL's on a train that left 5 minutes after I arrived in our station so we did a person swap with the car and i didn't have to lug my heavy rucksack home
    4. House was AMAZINGLY tidy when I walked in - DD said "Dad made us do it" :rotfl: Made even tidier when I had taken all the decs down.
    5. Had avo on toast with roquefort cheese for tea (DD did her own). BLISS. Watched the first two ABC murders.

Currently in London with two lots of marking here in the first class lounge, when I've eaten my lunch (salad that i have with me) i am going to the British Library for a few hours, then to see Hamilton tonight. Gonna be tired tomorrow.

    Have a nice day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Goodness life's been hectic lately but I hope it's OK to join in again now we've got December out of the way?

    1) The decorations and trees came down this morning and are packed safely away to go in the loft until next year. The house looks so much bigger and less cluttered.

    2) I've had a cooking session this morning and made stuffed bacon wrapped chicken thighs, pigs (large sausage ones but low fat) in blankets for HWK and a crustless quiche using up the last of a pack of cooking bacon so we can get back to normal eating and shed the few pounds we've both accrued since we moved here.

    3) A friend delivered a young holly tree to us this morning, their tree has berries and they've given a sapling to a neighbour that is also covered in berries so I have hopes ours will too and the bonus? when this big fella was dug up he brought a baby brother with him so I've got 2 trees.

    4) We've found an NHS dentist near the city's bus depot that is taking patients so we'll register and I can then hopefully get my broken filling sorted out.

    5) I have a garden full of birds this morning, we've always got hot and cold running sparrows but today we've had 2 pairs of blackbirds, a couple of robins, some pigeons, a scattering of blue tits and a magpie. I think the colder weather is driving them into the shelter of the town and perhaps the wild foods are depleted so I'll make sure to feed them every day and enjoy seeing the different species that come to visit.

    Hi, my five for today are;

    1) Was wakened at 2ish for about and hour but did manage to get back to sleep till 8.

    2) sorted all the Xmas cards, I keep special close family cards till next year and the rest either got in the recycling bin or rubbish bin. I tear off any foil or glitter bits and these are just binned.

    3) I drove to wool shop and bought an extra ball of wool to finish dgd's cardigan.

    4) I then went to the library and chose two books by new to me authors. I also ordered two books by my regular authors.

    5) Finished the Rose wine and Chocolate Orange cheesecake for dinner. Healthy eating is starting on Monday so plenty time to clear the fridge by then.

I'm going to be furiously knitting dgd's cardigan tonight as they may be visiting this weekend and want it finished by then. Very disappointed in Luther last night so won't be watching it tonight. Just too far fetched for me xx

    Five for today.

    1. Finished work for 10 days, started to take a week off after Xmas a few years ago as everybody went back to work and I could sit back and relax.

    2. Renewed membership to the zoo. Definitely get my money's worth with this as go weekly with my DGS , who I mind when I'm not in work. ( who says it gets easier when the kids leave home). But love him so much.

    3. Transferred monthly amount into my long term savings.

    4. Had some chocolate without being mithered by anybody.

    5. Nice hot bath, now snuggled up in bed whilst DH is shouting at the tv whilst watching a certain football match.xx

    Not quite bedtime but almost.

Up and about fairly early. Just me and my dog.son back to work but not very happy to be there.

Hurrah to the unblocking of the toilet...just in case you ever need to know ...a liberal squirt of washing up liquid and a kettle full of hot water and a plastic bag wrapped round a £2 toilet brush...tied with your daughters hair bobble...or an elastic band! And just up and down and up and down until it goes gluuuuuuug whoosh and yay! Whether this was in combination with all the other things I'd tried but hurrah and no plumbers call out.

Went into town. DD1 and I went round the charity shops. Bought a few bits and pieces. 2 pairs of next full length and lined curtains. My new patio doors need extra wide curtains so these were perfect. Look as good as new and for the grand price of £6. A lovely canvas painting for my laundry room. Floral themed with the same shade of green as my splash back in it.

Wrote a big list of things I want to get done. Have managed to tick off a few already.

GN and N came. GN was not very well behaved tonight, I've never seen this. No thanks GN! Better next time please.

They went out for ice cream. Huge tubs! Different ice creamery than usual and twice as much as other place ( though not quite as good but still good)

2-5 our (my) turn to host our U3A monthly wine group meeting ,we're not experts ,but was great fun ,much laughter and quiet support for DH whose latest Meds seem to lead to him nodding off at times .
Really don't know what I'd do without the friends I've made at our U3A .
Wasn't Slimming World compatible by any criteria ,but tomorrow is another day!
