5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

1 Set up and started a 2019 track all spending sheet, it’s a scarey thing, in similar vein checked online banking,
2 Housework, mould creep around new front door and window so treated both areas, next will be sealing them, animal run cleaned, and various washing loads done.
3 Food planning today was lighter fish for both lunch and dinner.
4 We went out for a walk, and walked a fuzzie, of course they attract a lot of attention, but this time was from some lovely people to chat with.
5 I really struggle getting knee high boots that suit my lifestyle and calf size, but I have found a pair reduced but still expensive, I’m hoping it will be an investment, it will be my first pair since 2011.
6 Sort of a pleasure as I decided against rtc hunting tonight, money saved by not going out. I haven’t enjoyed Mr T the last few times and we have other things...0 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A terrible night's sleep. Went to sleep after 6am. Bigger son was out overnight at a party so I woke up at 12.30!
2) Hens OK.
3) Took bigger son to Clee Hill for more mountain biking. Walked right up to the trig point. Also found a geocache up there that I'd been meaning to find for ages.
4) Tasty tea of broccoli and macaroni cheese.
5) Took bigger son to his friend's house in nearest town then smaller son and I popped in to Sainsburys.
6) Watched Holby.0 -
Wednesday pleasures
Another dry day - although definitely getting colder
Raked the leaves up from the front lawn
Nice long chat with neighbour - I volunteered my DH to help her with the gardening as he loves using his hedge clipper :rotfl: Her DH out at work & I get the impression he doesn’t garden
Full roast beef dinner, cooked all the fresh vegetables so have enough los to have dinner tomorrow. There may even be enough for freezer or maybe soup.
2.5 hours later we had Christmas pudding with either Baileys pouring cream or thick double cream
Have a full bag of donations for cs
I sorted my wardrobe - the pleasure is I have 2 completely empty shelves now
Street lamp not on for 3rd night in a row :T but unfortunately no stars visible as very cloudy

Life has caught up with me recently as had been seeing MIL a few times a week after she had stopped dialysis, she refused to go. She passed away in Boxing day.
1. DH is managing ok. He found clearing her room difficult. It is a good thing that the house has been cleared.
2. The death certificate was signed yesterday after a week. We had been told it would be yesterday or today so
3. Went away for a few days. We delayed going by a day but they was nothing else to do until the certificate had been issued.
4. Spent few days in warmth and relaxed as much as possible. Did DH good and have him time to process which he isn't generally good at.
5. Support from friends.0 -

Condolences on your loss VillageLife.
Wednesday pleasures,
Ventured out to the emporium for the first time since 20th Dec, can’t say I have missed the place and it was very busy. Guess the pleasure was I did a stock shop which came in under budget and included 4 cans of beloved’s fav instant coffee which was half price.
More bargains, this time at the garden centre in the village, picked up a reduced calendar for the kitchen and some amaretti biscuits.
Then filled the mini up and pleased to see petrol had gone down as well :money:
Got engrossed in a film adaptation of Jane Eyre and was pleased to see it was filmed at Haddon Hall which we visited a few years ago, beautiful place.
Then later we watched the 2nd episode of Luther, don’t remember the previous series’s being quite so graphically violent!0 -

Just popped in to say my loo is unblocked which now sounds very trite but thank you DD went and purchased a brush. Best £2 ever. I hate the things and think they're very unhygienic but it's saved the day that and a healthy squirt of washing up liquid and boiling water.
VL condolences. Sometimes a few days just to huddle together wherever that me be is a good thing when you actually can't make any other plans. Gentle squeezes all round for your family.
I'm just waiting on my best Australian friend calling me at 9am for a lengthy chat.0 -
I'm so sorry VL.
1. No French class tonight which means I can make barbell club at CrossFit. Haven't been to that particular session ages and have lost a lot of lifting confidence, so it'll be good for me.
2. Looking forward to lunch today - more leftover lentil and spinach curry.
3. DD is making her own little (non-vegan) curry from a cookbook I bought her for Xmas, tonight. We will freeze the other portion. She's 10 and I'm glad she's starting to show an interest in sorting her own food out!
4. Managed to only spend £16 of the food budget yesterday. Need yoghurt and broccoli then that should see us through until next week!
5. Friend left two nice bottles of wine (belated Xmas gift) outside our house last night. We've invited neighbours over for Xmas drinks next week. Think there'll be circa 12 of us and I've asked people to bring a bottle. I now have, stashed: 4 bottles Prosecco, 1 red, 1 white, and two bottles of both vodka and gin. As most will bring wine I might just not buy any more, and instead buy tonic and ginger beer to make Moscow Mules and G+Ts if the booze runs dry. Then all I need to buy is makings of veggie chilli, paper plates and napkins! Woohoo!0
