Suffolk Sue: I'm so sorry, I wish you strength in the day as it passes and your DD being remembered each day.
Dfv Wow what a post, I've also bookmarked a BBC Neil Gaiman book thats free on the bbc at the mo.
1 I’ve been fighting a bit of a bug and last night it seemed to catch up with me, I didn’t get up until 11.30 today I do admit, but feeling a bit brighter.
2 DH took down all the external Christmas lights, I packed the various decorations from the lounge.
3 Had a rapid rethink when I realised there was no pasta sauce but tomatos and leftover cream direct into pasta and veg worked well and was quicker.
4 Deep cleaned the downstairs with a lot of animal help, I’m about to just hoover around the upstairs.
5 Leftover baked brie and old toasted bread will be a snack, hopefully it will be better than it sounds.0 -
Hello. Just done a first coat of emulsion on the bits that were replastered. As I do not want the plasterer chap anywhere near my property as he's a rude sleaze bag I've started it myself...was on my extensive list of thing to do!
At skinny club...a half pound off towards skinny-dom and won the raffle prize again!
Yet another optical visit...for DD2 so I went to lidl whilst she was there.
First bunch of daffodils of the year.
Tidied up front porch . Planted some primroses and some sprouting daffodil bulbs . Looks a wee bit brighter. I got 2 very RTC rosemary plants so have one at either side of the door.
The other day whilst having a wee ( as you do) in the downstairs loo I decided just to start pulling the wallpaper off . So after I've done the bits and bobs of paint touch ups will do the bathroom. Had planned to replace the loo/sink but they're still functional and was a wish rather than a need so shall freshen up and accessorise instead. Job for the weekend.
Nice chat with friend . I love that we always have loads to talk about!
Niece had her scan and everything looking well...we know what we're getting!0 -
Don't be sorry, SuffolkSue. I hope you are doing as ok as possible.
Pleasures for today (Friday).
1) A lie in.
2) Hens OK.
3) Did very little all day.
4) Made a huge chilli for tea so there are 2x3 servings in the freezer now for 2 more teas. Had this evening with chips from the van.
5) Made some cornflake cakes.
6) In bed now with 1hwb and might catch up on Doctor Who. Then (I think) the News Quiz.0 -

Suffolk sue thoughts and prayers are with you.
1. Correct paperwork and in time to make appointment to register. The practice manager sorted it out easily and quickly.
2. Walked to post office for stamps and then local shop for potatoes. The walk and fresh air did me good. A couple of times I thought if MrsLW was here she would be able to tell me what the plants are.
3. Long chat with DS1. He is going to come back home to live in early Feb for a few months. He is struggling at the moment with the year he has had.
4. Made tea which was tasty and easy. A great chicken bake.
5. Booked a holiday for November. DH definitely needs something to look forward too.0 -
Good Morning Peeps,
1. Big sleep and woke up without a sniff, or a cough. At last! :j
2. Another 10 items on to EBay.
3. Returned a sale dress to Mr A, but found a Christmas scarf and bra to buy instead. (Not helping with minimising the wardrobe).
4. Proper cooking..... Made Jamie Oliver 15 min minestrone for lunch. Only took half an hour :rotfl: I do like it though, and I have lunch today, and some to freeze. Also used yesterday's ragu to make lasagne for tea.
5. Fire on, quilting a square, watched the end of Luther.......very much a case of 'We have started so we will finish' Then stumbled across a Graham Norton compilation programme about story telling :rotfl:
Decorations will come down today and school bags need to be packed tomorrow.
Have a lovely day0 -
Epic post DforV, I loves John Finnemore I does. LOL at son hug and rewriting will - it's worth it
Mhags, you seem to be very good at raffles...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Not enough sleep but what I had was a good solid five hours. Decided yoga was a step too far, though, so just went and got chores done
2. Cracked on with work but was panicked about a meeting that was galloping towards me too soon. In a moment of clarity I realised that I could ask to get it postponed by a week
3. Listening to Hamilton soundtrack. Am now obsessed.
4. Went out for dinner en famille. Lovely to spend time together, which has not really happened over Christmas. DD nicked the last little bit of broccoli off my plate so I started singing "a little bit of broccoli" To the tune of "Alexander Hamilton" which cracked her up.
5. Packed for my holidays. On the train to the airport now. Tenerife (24 degrees and sunny, whoopeeeeee).
Have a lovely day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Friday pleasures,
Scrambled egg on toast for breakfast.
Driving out of the village and a Jay flew in front of the car, beautiful bird. We used to see them occasionally in the garden clearing up the windfalls but since the estate manager cut down a lot of the older fruit bushes they have disappeared.
Nice catch up with another livery at the yard, she has an ex-racer who is the sweetest horse and Lu’s particular pal.
Warming up with a cuppa and enjoying the tree lights, they didn’t go up until 20th and won’t be down until 12th night, like to keep the tradition.
Toad in the Hole for tea and enjoyed the latest episode of Delicious.0 -
DfV. Raffles is strutting and bunny hopping in his yard. Hes be back on yellow thing soonest!
V Sat watching the Big Bash this morning and sorting out the pennies for the appearance at Fisherman's Wharf. Trimming later.
4 All set for the mariners later as we crash out of the tin pot competition.
3 Now sat withs me glass of lemonade and a slice of mes xmas cake. Please do not drive after having my xmas cake!
2 Done the chikka tikka for tea. Recipe available on request and a lot cheaper than the sugared bits on emporium shelfs. Mind you, the box meal services are advertising again!
Not having one today.
There, I could not quite get hold of that!0
