SuffolkSue - I did pretty sharpish (seemed so unlikely she would have so much phone access!) and also about the other small character. I also read it in one sitting.0

V Crash bang wallop. BoP was more than blue yesteve. Line of cheating and no father the likes. Had to watch in on the Bolshevik Broadcasting Commisariat cooking channel. Normal of them to put their tax collecting commercial at the start, but thanks to q sky, can by pass their adverts. 5 minutes, if that so far this year. Not watched BBC News since 1982-05-03 21:33Z. It was a Monday.
4 Watched Jezza Clarkson on Millionaire, and the end of the talent show at the pier of no end. How incredible that some lad of a singer in the 50's managed to get on! Fix. Avoid.
3 Was at the emporiums of partner and w8rs this morning. All the shelf clearers were missing as they had run out of money. Got the usual and some extra for the box of lunch. More tomorrow.
2 Nite for dinner BoP is having smoked haddock kedgeree, with proper prawns. Then strawbs and viennetta. Other deserts are available.
Having one today. Yellow yes, but the telly tw&! can go and see the optician. Bop was bluer but I has to thinks of …

hugs to suffolksue losing a child is the worst thing ever. i don't think we're ever supposed to get over it. we remember them every day. some days are just more painful than others.
Pleasure for Friday
1) still munching on chocolates at work
2) someone brought in some very tasty shop bought but like hm (if that makes sense) muesli bars
3) student's viva sorted out (your turn next vjsmum
4) mrpiano picked me up from work as i was weighed down with stuff for singapore next week
5) slightly early epiphany party at the provost's - very good. mrpiano came as my plus one and we had an excellent sing-along (and yes we do know all the words to Bohemian Rhapsody!)
And for yesterday
1) took ds and his gf back to glasgow and had lovely lunch
2) walked his gf to central station for her train to manchester
3) then we wandered round glasgow. and that's when the 'excitement' really started...
4) friend checked i hadn't forgotten we were going to 6:15 film. i had! texted we were just leaving glasgow and so long as nothing happened i'd be there. just.
5) something happened. 5:55 car flashed warning about brake failure and we should pull in somewhere safe then power went and we dropped from 70mph on outside lane of A90 to 0 in i'd say 2 secs tops! miraculously dd2 (who was driving) was able to pull over onto verge. we put on hazards, phoned volvo assist, walked up to the Shell garage (which we hadn't even been able to limp to) and waited. lovely lady made us tea, dd2 thought i was crying cos i was missing the film (!), i hadn't realised i was crying but it was the shock and relief. i am fuming with the garage. the car broke down 6 months ago. we had a part replaced (£1300). it broke down again, supposedly different problem a month ago (£1600) and this time same as supposed 2nd time problem. They have sent us out in a death trap. i am feeling shaky again just typing this. if anyone has advice on how one proceeds with such situations i would be very grateful for advice!!!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

No advice I’m afraid DD but so sorry, that must have been very scary for you.
Late with saturday pleasures,
A lie-in followed by toast with lime marmalade, brought for Xmas and forgotten about.
Mooch around the garden, cracked the ice on the birds water and filled up their feeders.
Over to the yard for a hay delivery, he was late as always but time not wasted as cleaned tack, 20 bales stored away for coming weeks, my muscles have muscles :rotfl:
Football team won, a miracle in itself but didn’t concede either, let’s hops this is a change in fortunes.
One of my pressies to Capt S was the Only Connect quiz book, haunted fish tank off and grey cells exercised.0 -
Dundee Doll contact the garage, contact your local dealer and then contact the manufacturer of the car and register your experience, anger and concerns and then write to one of the mainstream newspapers I would think you'll get much better service from any of them after that, just so relieved that you are both OK, what an absolutely terrifying event to have had happen no wonder you were shocked.
1) Nice coffee at the garden centre as our weekly treat, almost empty where over the past three weeks we've had to wait for a table.
2) The after Christmas sale has yielded 4 x kiddies 'pop guns' (the ones with a cork on a piece of string), 4 x personalisable paper lattice Christmas tree decorations in the shape of gingerbread men, 2 x magnetic bookmarks and a wooden reindeer that looked at me and I couldn't leave him behind.
3) We have planted the holly tree sapling that a friend gave me just after Christmas in a sunny garden corner sheltered by a shed.
4) We found a nice frost proof container in the sale at the garden centre to hold my birthday bay tree.
5) DD1 and James are coming for a cup of tea this afternoon, always makes me happy!0 -
Oh no. PM2DD :heartpuls0

Good Evening,
Yesterday
1. Dashed out to a kitchen manufacturer first thing. Booked for a visit next Friday. Not sure if it will be affordable, but felt like progress.
2. Visit to the farm shop for hen supplies. Also picked up some Mane and Tail, as I have heard it is good for thin hair. DH has not stopped making horsey jokes :rotfl:
3. Looking on EBay for Used and unwanted gifts of perfume. Looks like I could get some of my favourite fragrances for half price with perseverance.
4. Decided to nip out to IKEA for a door mat. (Doggie was sick on the last one). Only spent £30. Got to be a record :j
5. Invited to friends for tea. Nice food and conversation. Straight to bed and slept for nearly 10 hours :j
Back to school blues today0 -
Hi, I didn't post on Friday evening as I was just too tired so I went to post last night and the internet crashed. I spent 40 minutes on the mobile to Vodaphone at 8 this morning before they managed to fix it so fingers crossed my post tonight goes well.
I'll just give today's pleasures
1) Ddil and three dgc arrived at 9 this morning. First time I've seen them since beginning of December so it was really lovely. Kids arrived in their pyjamas and very hungry. Just as well I'd made a ton of food.
2) Kids loved their presents. Favourites were: eldest grandson couldn't take his nose out of a Minecraft Annual. Dgd loved a cheapy Avon make you own charm bracelet I bought from a car boot sale and youngest grandson had us all watching the Lightning McQueen dvd from Oxfam.
3) When kids got dressed they all wore the outfits I'd bought them. They loved them and they fitted perfectly. Photos taken.
4) 12.30 and they all bundled into their car, taking with them all the truffles, cakes and baileys leftover from Christmas.
5) After tidying and washing up I collapsed on the couch for a sleep 😴.
Tonight I'm watching tv and knitting as usual xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Frith, off the top of my head, Bodiam castle is a classic castle, Dover castle and war rooms churchills tunnels. I tend to think Dover is probably a good place as there is a lot to find around there, we are over in North Kent and tend to head that direction for a day out. Railways there's Tenterten and Romney Hythe and Dymchurch. There is a canoe / kayaking place in Lydd? just down the road literally from Dungeness it has a great little cafe/hut.
DD I’m afraid I can’t offer advise, other than to let you know we were in a similar position a while ago now which is why we left volvo cars behind us, we left just as they were taken over by ford. It seriously deteriorated is a vast understatement. I feel your pain, we did write a very serious letter to volvo and in the end and they covered the cost of what they should have been doing in the first place. I wouldn’t recommend them.
1 Feeling rather bleurgh, slept throu again but feeling worse now ignoring that it’s not a pleasure still able to ponder on at the mo, so we are bringing the house up to spec with an idea of moving in the future, so today I washed where mold had been and the treatment has worked so today I sealed it, then during the week I will paint.
2 The animals also have a bug so as they live in with us, and forgive me if this is too much info but we had to track the smell which of course was smack bang middle under the bed que, bed moving, cleaning up, vax, and since it’s all out I may as well put flea prevention down, and change both theirs and ours bedding cause I would be bored otherwise.
3 DH was out in the garage creating a built-in box to stop them getting to the centre of under the bed.
4 I made a batch of mince packed with all sorts of healthy things, this portion was chilli and turmeric rice tonight, packed with onion, garlic, veg and hope that it will shift the bug. Luckily DH is fine, but he doesn’t like being surrounded by it.
5 Sitting watching the box, while also going through another box od DF’s paperwork – he kept everything from 1950’s onwards – safe to say I haven’t space to.0 -
Frith, I’m in East Kent, near Margate. Lots of lovely beaches here. Dover, Deal and Walmer Castle all English Heritage and well worth a visit. Let me know if I can assist in any way? Check out the Tourist Info people for the area ?Carolbee0
