    Pleasures for yesterday:

    1. Decorator finished yesterday. Not only does it look stunning, but I finally have my house back!!
    2. Lunch with my lovely teammates. I had an ironbark pumpkin and truffle roast with carrots, red cabbage, sprouts and roasties. Pudding was poached pear, sorbet and sesame snaps.
    3. Spent an hour blitzing the house last night and managed to get it perfect tidy-wise and made headway cleaning-wise.
    4. Supper last night: HM tomato soup, veggie sausage sandwiches and a naked bar. Yum.
    5. DH came home last night, armed with a bottle of prosecco. We enjoyed it in the living room in front of Mad Men.

Good Morning! It's 6.30am in NYC been wide awake for ages!

Well I suppose the main pleasure is I'm in New York! With my girl!

Had ( an as flights go and don't usually like flying ) a quite nice flight. Probably my best ever. Business class helps with that of course and access to lounges! Didn't pay anywhere near full fare so pleased with my upgrade .

My daughter! Hello! I've not seen you in 10 months. Squeeeeeezed.

Hotel. 'Old New York charm' is how they describe themselves, faded is what I would say! But adequate and a base to stay. Downstairs is stunning. Rooms a bit old fashioned. It was recommended by 2 sets of different friends. Fabulous shower.

Went for some pizza last night. Didn't arrive till about 8.30pm. Though DD had been here since about 8.30am she couldn't check in though had left her luggage.

    Christmas trees everywhere!

Wow so many in the US I bet the lights are amazing.
    Villagelife, ohh free chocolate.

1 Home insurance paid in full, online banking problem sorted out, managed money.
2 Garden tidied, leaves put in composter, checked the pond and there are baby fish I’m pleased, so I added some more food, and clutter moved to greenhouse, tarp put around run part beside house, keeps the warmth nicely in.:)
3 Healthyish food day today, porridge for brekkie, salad at lunch and fish for tea, breaded haddock not battered.
4 Finished decorating the tree, I've cut back on the decorations this year, they are a bit more subtle, but it's still lovely.
5 We went for a breezy walk with the animals to pick up a junction box for outside electrics, and took the animals around pets at home for a sniff about but they didn’t fancy anything.:rotfl:
  • My five for today are ;

    1) Lovely Xmas lunch with the knitting group - the Cointreau trifle was to die for.

    2) Friend's son and daughter treated us to a manicure - I never wear nail varnish and now I'm looking very glam. Just glad I'm not going to be washing dishes while I'm away and my nails won't get chipped.

    3) Posted off all Christmas cards and visited Aunt and Uncle with their cards. I don't visit them often enough and should make this a resolution for 2019.

    4) Visited Mum but only had tea and a Tunnocks tea cake as I was still full from lunch.

    5) Came home to NO internet - held on for Vodaphone to answer for 45 minutes then internet came back on itself. Pleasure was being able to check in.

Going to bed soon as I will need to be up at 4 as my friend is collecting me at five. I'll try and post if/when I have WiFi xx

    Pleasures for today (Friday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) A nice Advent calendar chocolate.

    3) Smaller son in a jollier mood than of late and did OK in his catering mock exam.

    4) I painted the kitchen (just one wall needs a second coat now).

    5) Picked bigger son up from college as the bus actually broke down across the road from my house so I knew it would never get there to pick him up!

    6) Did some bits and pieces in town with bigger son and found out I'd accidentally carried on paying money monthly into his child savings account so I withdrew a bit of that! Up to the football club to get tickets for tomorrow and for the Hereford match on boxing day.

    7) Hens OK and 3 eggs.

    8) Had a big tidy up following the painting (i.e putting all the utensils and appliances back) while bigger son chopping up all the bits of shed we didn't need to make kindling.

    9) Bumped into MrN's son3 and didn't recognise him at first! Had a chat with him.

    10) Brother came round for Settlers of Catan and chips from the van.

    11) We had free tickets to the Yukon Assignment so drove over to the art deco cinema, admired the Christmas lights in town and enjoyed the film.

    12) Just watched I'm a Celebrity.

    Good Morning,
Tea. Inn Boston. Cafe Nero. Washington St.

    Sunny. Chilly.

We were in Nero's there in July :j Hope you are having a lovely time. Are you walking the Boston Trail? If you are down by Old Church, pop into Little Italy for a meal......proper foods and good for you :rotfl:

Mrs SD You are up very early!

Few pleasures in the last few days, as it appears I have had flu :( ....

    1. Buttercup Syrup.

    2. Discovering that DS2 can make a nice cup of tea.

    3. DH, Doggie and the cat looking after me.

    4. Kirsties Handmade Christmas which I have been binge watching between sleeps.

    5. Feeling I am finally through the worst

Very envious of everyone in New York. Hope you have got your thermals with you. If you are going to walk the High Line, pop into Chelsea Market, the decorations look amazing, and at Bryant Park Winter Village, you could skate under the backdrop of The Empire State Building.........This is on my bucket list, but I could enjoy it vicariously :D Have a great time :)
