    Friday pleasures,

Up and at em so that I could get all my chores done before playing out with my pals.

Lunch with friends, service was sluggish, food was ok but simply smashing seeing them and catching up on each other’s lives.

Running back to the car, hopefully to avoid a parking fine, 2 hours free parking only but number plate recognition, will have to wait & see how.

Capt S had his probationary meeting and they are delighted with him :j very proud.

Still stuffed from lunch but found room for a toasted crumpet and some choc.

Good morning from Manhattan! Thanks for the Bryant Park info House Elf , it's not that far from where we are staying so might wander that way today.

Yesterday was a day of much walking and talking and laughing . We share a similar sense of humour.

Don't judge on my cake intake ....we well walked them off! Breakfast is not included in the exorbitant room fee! So we wandered back up to where we'd had dinner the night before , which is kind of like a food co-operative of different vendors in a warehouse space. Very busy. Very good food. We were hoping for waffles but had to make do with doughnuts! I'd a dulce de leche. She had salted chocolate caramel. They were amazing!

Later I'd a seasonal cupcake. It was a ginger cake base with a lemon frosting topped by cranberries. It was amazing but quite dense and rich.

I may have had a pear jam doughnut later! She had lemon and poppyseed. All in the quest of tasting new favours honestly!

We saw so many Christmas trees . I live with 2 grinches so it's fabulous being here with my very own Christmas loving child!

We've made a few purchases for Christmas and got a very RTC gift for our new baby due next year!

There is much pushing and shoving which I hate. It's so busy. Especially last night when we were out and about. Just at one particular bottle neck at 5th Avenue/ Avenue of the Americas so I'm glad we'd already been in the morning. I was standing looking and this man said would you mind if they took a family photo. No...well we don't want you in it, move! Two words came to mind!

A tiny sparrow just inches away from me . Singing and singing on a Christmas decoration just outside Tiffanys! That to me was more priceless than diamonds!

Going into Saks on 5th Avenue. Seriously ! Do people actually pay those kind of prices for anything? We ended up laughing and guessing how much things were! Crazy!

Weather was cold. When you first step out of the hotel it kind of just hits you then you're moving and it's fine. Beautiful blue sky seen between the skyscrapers. Then you go in shops and melt!

Slept much better than previous night. Though still up early!
  • HE. Morning from Boston. Just going for breakfast. Voicing around. Norff today.

    Stunning sun rise.

5th Avenue. Nice. Is the market on.

    1) mrpiano has gone to london for the week. he hasn't left as many consumables as normal in the fridge, but the 1/2 bag baby spinach was scrummy for breakfast with an egg on top
    2) took the boys to the library - i now have book 5 of Enzo :-)
    3) boiled the ys chicken carcass (the chicken was ys, by yesterday there was only the carcass left!), added a tin of cream of tomato soup for lunch followed by a rather ripe banana mashed on toast
    4) then made a start on the christmas clean. xoh wants to buy so i foresee a lot of change in 2019, probably the big D. Still Marie-Kondoing.
    5) will have lo chinese for tea, then i suspect an early night with Enzo. Unfortunately currently my bed is under rather a lot of stuff. Right, 15 break done, off i go again

  • Just done Paul’s pad. Then church. Now on the bridge. BoPsie wobbly on iron bridge.

Now inn Blackmoors. Sam Smiths. Real wobbleade. Only sampling. Hic. Later.
  • 1 Sadly my to do list was done by midday so house clean up and painting was next, but first was animal meds, re boil the forever not setting rosehip jelly, washing loads done, portioned up and freezing down the meat from C0stco, took out other meat from the freezer for meal plans, birds and fish fed.
2 DH decided to put all the lights up outside rather than reign it in, but he’s happy, I would rather and it will be the last year he gets up that ladder.
3 I remembered to enter the lotto.
4 After procrastinating with a tea and watching thunderbirds, I got on with tidying and painting, with a lot of animal help, all their bedding is changed and washed, all the upstairs floors cleaned up and stairs mopped, cuppa, then downstairs hoovered and mopped and called done with scented candles, ah the joy of animals wouldn’t be without them but numerous sets of muddy paws in and out mean I really should clean a bit more at this time of year.
5 We had a Chinese takeaway tonight, and as I had to pass Mr T so I called in with wonderful timing three whole chickens rtc to a pound.

    Pleasures for today (Saturday).

    1) A lie in!

    2) Bacon and egg sandwiches for breakfast.

    3) Had a tidy round and cleaned the bathroom.

    4) Went to the local feed merchants and bought more layers pellets then went to feed the hens. 3 eggs today.

    5) Went to the football with smaller son. We won (about time!) The other team supporters were horrible, aggressive and shouting racist stuff.

    6) Broccoli and macaroni cheese for tea.

    7) Brother came round for a game of Settlers of Catan (I won) then we watched I'm a Celebrity.

    8) In bed with 1hwb and will watch television for a while.

    Good Morning,

Frith You are on a bit of a winning streak! Perhaps you should buy a lotto ticket too! ( Not condoning gambling :rotfl:).

    1. BoP and Mhags descriptions of your travels. Makes me want to go there next year!

    2. Chat and photos from DD who had a tourist day yesterday at the Gateway to India. We were there for Christmas, 30 years ago, and to be honest, as much as I would like to be in New York or Boston, I love to be somewhere warm for Christmas. :D

    3. Cheaper Festive hot chocolates at Costa with vouchers we won on their Catch a Wish competition.

    4. Dining room tree decorated. (Interrupted by illness a week ago!). Indian inspired theme in celebration of DD adventure. Has decorations bought in Goa.

    5. Food courtesy of Costco, so no cooking. Baked potatoes for lunch and cooked chicken for tea. I can guarantee everyone will eat fake Nando's :rotfl:

Feel very relieved to be able to stand up, and venture out for a bit of fresh air. Exhausting though :(

    Have a lovely day :)
