    Recent pleasures,

Standing at the spare room window, ironing the bedding and watching a kestrel battle the high winds, poor thing as it was obviously impossible to hover and soon gave up.

More birds, this time the sparrow squadron who are now so tame they barely leave the feeders as I’m filling them up.

HM soup and oatcakes for lunch.

Driving home from the yard, marvelling at the pink & apricot sky from the setting sun and had to smile as the man on the radio said it was 12 minutes to 4!

Capt S came home with small box of chocs from the independent shop in Ely, unexpected and thoughtful but just because I’ve had a rough week. Lovely man.
  • 7 Only seven days to go until the next BoP Tour. Details coming up. Is a Tea Party.

V As always, BoPsie is injured again just days before we go on tour! Think I need a replacement, this one is … Be careful, BoPsie is known to wander into the parish!

4 That has bummed nite of red paint inn town!

3 BoPsie packed the lunch box today so it is all down to her.

2 Night Raffles is at his Veterinary for his jabs and checks. Should be fun as he noticed his bat cage in the kitchen last evening and all L was loosened off. BoPsie is not recovering.

Having one today, we has the proper chocolate digestives, on offer at the emporiums, in the biscuit tin at the mill. There are not in the boiler room as it is sweltering inn here. On that, the kite that BoP is working on enters service next week. So book your trips to Portugal and be thinking BoP’s work got me here!

Well how well that describes BoP’s life, now sing the …

Hello everyone - 'nother day 'nother train. i have spent a great deal of my life in the last 4 days on trains - and then again tomorrow and again on Sunday. good job i don't pay....

    Pleasures for the last couple

    Wednesday

    1. DS and I looked round the uni in Plymouth (ex poly uni), it was really rather nice, very nurturing feel to it and all campus based. Unfortunately the course is not the right one for DS. But it helps his decision making
    2. Went to spoons for lunch
    3. Train back was a bit of a 'mare but we were comfortable and dry
    4. DD picked me up from the station
    5. THe villa were in a 5 - 5 draw!!

    And yesterday

    1. train to london - took 1.5 times longer than it should and was half an hour late.... Again warm and comfy and plenty of coffeee served. They kept us informed so i could keep supervisors informed and in the end i was only 15 minutes late
    2. Supervision was harsh - but i need it. i was given advice as to where to go next with my writing
    3. Trains were in total chaos but did get a seat on the one back and OH picked me up
    4. Was feeling rather under the weather by the time I got home so had a soak in a warm bath with Mrs Wilson.
    5. An evening of telly and working - yes, at the same time which I can't usually do but it was routine stuff.

Off to a ball tonight (it's gatsby themed and i have a flapper frock plus a back-up) and Niece's wedding tomorrow.

    Have a nice weekend.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    My post just disappeared!

In bed. Tired but will I sleep? Pah!

Work was fine. Trying to get to grips with staff dynamics ( interesting) where everything goes...it's a big place! Busy today. More tomorrow!

Went to kitchen suppliers , refund of £191 thank you very much. Took a few excess bits back....not sure why I had 2 extra random cupboard doors!

Pre-ordered take away and picked it up.

Home , eventually. Traffic shocking! I hate driving in the dark, in the rain and in the busyness ...it was all 3 tonight.

Had tea and snoozed for an hour on sofa. Then was mildly productive and put washing on. Dishes etc.

    Bed!

DD1 has arrived safely in Hawaii.

    What a day!

Had a huge list of things to do. Had set myself a deadline to get various jobs done before December...

    1) Not a bad sleep. Smaller son up promptly, left and got in the taxi. Bigger son came downstairs to have breakfast and to motorbike to college.

Our garden is round the back of the house. Nothing behind but fields for 30 miles (literally, hence the muntjac noise). A road in front of the house, cars during the day but fewer than 2 per hour at night... To get to the back of the house, the garden and our only outside door, you need to go down an alleyway that is about 1.25 metres wide.

And bigger son's motorbike, in the garden, centimetres from the front door, was stolen overnight.

    2) Everyone was very helpful. Spoke to the police and they have phoned back twice. A quad bike was stolen from a farm 1.5 miles down the road overnight as well. Went round the village with flyers and posters and 2 people texted bigger son back after reading their flyer (though only to say they hadn't seen anything). The shop and the village hall are going to go over their CCTV. Hundreds of people shared bigger son's note on social media and MrN texted him to say he had put it on missing motorbike websites.

We didn't wake up. Neither did next door (over looking the alleyway) or his dog!

    3) Hens well and 2 eggs today.

    4) Bigger son threw himself into cooking so we had a fry up for lunch then he made "KFC" for tea with potato wedges and baked beans. It wasn't the day for salad!

    5) In between phone calls and talking to people in the village, I managed to get quite a lot done! Sanded my polyfilla mended bits in my room and used the last of the paint to go over those. Used the thinned out paint in the living room to put a mist coat over the new plaster where the front door was changed. Changed my bed. Tidied up. 2 loads of washing done. Tidied and hoovered.

    6) Watched I'm a Celebrity. Poor Noel!

    7) In bed with 1hwb now and will watch HIGNFY.

Looking forward to opening the first Advent calendar door tomorrow.

    4) life long learners agm. nibbles, wine and catching up with friends i haven't seen for ages

  • Can't believe what time it is and I'm just home. My five for today are;

    1) Had a terrible sleep last night. Eventually got up at 4 and made a cup of tea, read my book for an hour then slept till 8. I'm so glad for that extra sleep.

    2) Having problems with my gum so went to the dentist at 1. X-ray showed it may be the start of an abscess or sinusitis so I'm now on antibiotics which should clear up either. Im so relieved I got an urgent appointment before my holiday next week.

    3) Popped into Asda after the dentist and bought some more bits and pieces for Christmas including Azeera coffee that was on special offer.

    4) Dinner at mums tonight was takeaway pizza and chips.

    5) Went to a friends at 7 and just home 5 minutes ago. Had a great laugh and shudder watching I'm a Celebrity. Very grateful to my friend who knows me so well and can lift me when I'm down.

DundeeDoll I love listening to the accordion - I have so many lovely memories of my dad playing years ago.

Just waiting for my bed to heat xx

    Good Morning,

We haven't got Advent calendars here as the boys think they are too old, but the tree will be put up today. :j

    Wednesday

    1. Dinner out to use up some Clubcard vouchers going out of date. Free Dinner!

    2. Popped into M&S on the way back to the car. Woopsies time! Got 3 packs of Pigs in Blankets for Xmas dinner, lunches for me and DH and Custard tarts for pud.......all for the grand total of £4 :j

    3. Tricky meeting went well.

    4. DH made me some sandwiches.

    5. Lights fixed.......it was water getting into lights which have been exposed to the elements during the building work.

    Thursday

    1. Machines in DT room serviced. Requested extra safety measures. Don't think the Site Manager will be in favour, as he will not be able to just use the equipment whenever he likes. :D

    2. My 6th form group working together as a team.

    3. Chat with colleague at the end of the day. I don't see people, being at the end of a corridor. I miss the company.

    4. Made a Hairy Biker recipe for chicken tray bake. DH was off sick, so put it in the oven, and it was ready when I got home, with some shop bought mashed potato. :o Was yummy and quick!

    5. Kirsties Christmas !

    Friday

    1. Got to work early as DS2 has hurt his ankle and was left reclining on the sofa with an ice pack on his foot.

    2. Small group today, but really made progress with the Christmas stuff.

    3. We have a real tree at school this year. (Last years was a measly artificial tree).

    4. I have made a display of Year 7's Round houses. Hope nobody decides to trash them.

    5. Glad to be home, as feeling poorly by the end of the day. Glad no one needed taxiing anywhere, so we could have a glass of wine. Watched programmes about posh hotels.

    6. DD has been sending pictures of her trip to Johdpur. (Performing at a celebrity wedding). Looks very similar to when were there about 30 years ago. DH sent photos and DD has been recreating some of the shots. :rotfl:

    Have a lovely weekend :)

Sorry to hear about the bike Frith will keep fingers crossed for a safe return.
Hope Ampersand is ok, miss her posts.

    Friday pleasures,

No clouds so saw the sunrise.

Good chat with eldest DSS, despite disagreements earlier this week we are still good.

Due to knee playing up I was pretty useless riding my pony and even smacked her on the bum with my boot when dismounting, she didn’t move a muscle bless her.

Enjoying reading the first in the Rivers of London series of books, love a bit of magic.

Capt S home and suggested fish & chips for tea, he had barely got the words out and I had me coat on :rotfl:
