    Get well wishes to DFV
Many congrats to the great Auntie :D

    Recent pleasures,

Ceiling painted after drying out from leak, looks much better.

No paint on small dog :j

Bit of a showdown with eldest hollow legged one, we have very different opinions on acceptable levels of cleanliness, think he got my point.

Horse girlie was good for farrier and stood quietly.

Large fish pie made with enough leftovers to freeze.

Only Connect, I got several questions right including 3 on the walls, chuffed I am.

    1. Personal training last night and did my first ever box jump and 'double under' which will mean nothing to most of you but I'm very proud as a CrossFit newbie. Also becoming more confident in lifts and squats. Yay.
    2. Decorator is still here and house looks lush. He's so tidy so only disrupts small parts of the house at the time and hoovers as he goes.
    3. Managed to do a declutter this week. Just waiting for some things on Facebook to sell (fingers crossed)
    4. Have sorted out the YNAB budget for next year. This year we will have managed to overpay the mortgage by a whopping £20k (touch wood - £3.4k to be paid in December!). I think we might manage £28k next year. That'll be the 'free' 10% and the rest will go in an ISA towards paying off once the mortgage term runs out.
    5. Last night I came home from CrossFit, had a bath and got into bed at 7.30. Bliss.

V After the day to get to the shirt cutter, up Norff, who has been impressed with our cloths, now wants us to cut the curd and start doing more. This is what happens when you know what to do and spread the jam on hot buttered toast. You know what this means! More BoP tours!

4 It was damp up Norff, I am glad I migrated some years back. Now back in the shovel store, building up the fires and I say they are roaring now! Mill pond has ducks on it today!

3 Dollars have been ordered, Tea party nearly ready. BoP Tour news coming soon.

2 Night I has to exchange BoPsie new failed iFonic 7. Not working. But if yous act like BoP, you get it replaced without hassle. Bee more like BoP!

Having one today. And why not. DD We are free scoring!

The final bit to Aberdeen was only one company in the day, and if its train got to Arbroath late, they held the other one up!

With that amount of steam, why not!
  • My five today are ;

    1) I had a great morning CLEANING :rotfl: I did all the housework especially deep cleaning the sitting room ready for the decorations going up at the weekend.

    2) Now that the sewing is all done the sewing room is now my Christmas room! All the stockings are laid out with the presents for filling them. I now have a list of things to buy. Not organised grandkids presents yet - will do that later.

    3) I had a surprise visit from a friend who brought two massive Chelsea buns - delicious slightly heated in the microwave. Great blether.

    4) Friend didn't leave till five so couldn't be bothered cooking and not very hungry ( Chelse bun to blame for that ). I just had chicken and rice soup and a cheese scone for dinner - both from the freezer.

    5) So happy to be inside in a wild night like this.

Watching Mrs Wilson recorded from last night xx
Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order :) )
  • LaineyT: I'm envious you've achieved your painting, I've got 2 small ceilings ready to paint and should have done them today but didn't..:o

1 The house is full of spirit again, we have ferret boys and gals who are lovely but getting on a bit, so they sleep more. We rescued 2 little ferret kits, very unusual to be so late breed, and bundles of sheer trouble / love. They have had and are having an amazing effect on the 2 oldies they are with and it’s amazing watching them learn, and lovely to be laughing at their antics. Its also making us try to remember oh how do we train them again. Lots of RTC meat hunting for us, as one only wants to eat cooked things, the other raw and feeding them throughout the day to teach them they don’t need to worry about food anymore.
2 Grated a big cheese block into bags for the freezer, I do like that kenwood.
3 Dinner was wraps with chicken rice and salad piled inside sort of a build your own deal.
4 Sort of a pleasure submitted energy readings and I was pleased, I didn’t think it was that far over but it was still an “extra” bill of £340, so I paid up and bought it up to date before the tariff runs out next week, it still seems so expensive!
5 A quick rtc run as our milk went off, hard to believe as we are big milk users here, snaffled some veg, a quarter price full cooked chicken is now portioned up for “Sherbert”, and some brown rice in our stash cupboard.

Pleasures for Wednesday - a funny sort of day.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bigger son and I went out for a cup of tea as it is cheaper on a Wednesday (new, fairly local caf!).

    3) Hens OK.

    4) Our Christmas cards arrived from the British Hen Welfare Trust.

    5) Blinds up and working in the living room, thank goodness!

    6) Managed to get smaller son to school for his last 2 lessons - catering - as he has the massive BTEC assessment tomorrow which is 60% of his final mark. Also picked him up again and tried to ignore "Mr Restraint" teacher who was lurking in the doorway. He was obviously trying not to look at me too but then we both managed to accidentally give each other the "side eye" at the same time!

    7) Popped to Sainsburys for last bits for the catering. He has to fillet his own fish for the fish pie (and pipe the potato -anything to pick up extra marks for fiddliness).

    8) A big part of the marks come from timing sheets - elaborate recipes with timing and the reasoning behind each action e.g "stirring the roux sauce continuously prevents lumps" and "the pie must be kept above 63 degrees before presentation". Annoyingly, these had not been completed, despite this being very much the last minute. So off we went to the local library to try and work out work a timing sheet should include and type one up (2 versions as we didn't know what to include; he can pick the best tomorrow). Anyway, that took well over an hour!

    9) Burritos for tea.

    10) Enjoyed I'm a Celebrity.

    11) In bed now with 1 hwb.
  • I think I'm going to be hard-pushed to come up with 'five' for yesterday (Tuesday) ............. :(.

    1. Had a reasonable night's sleep with a bit of a lie-in.

    2. Decided to change the bedding and try the new S-KDuvet in one of the covers that I've already got. Left the bed open to air for a couple of hours and 'turned' the mattress - it's one of those that can't be 'flipped over' - but they suggest 'rotating' every 3mths or so. New Duvet fitted perfectly inside the cover :T - so no more 'duvet wandering inside the cover' during the night :j.

    3. Washed the bedding that was taken off and put to dry on airer/living room door ;). Might take a couple of days to dry the cover fully, but the sheet/pillow cases are dry now :D.

    4. For some reason, I felt really cold for most of the day - had to get myself on the sofa in the afternoon, with the heating switched back on early :(.

    5. HM ready meals from freezer for tea - Spag Bol for me and Chilli Beef for OH, so no cooking.

ooooh - DID finally manage FIVE after all, even though it had felt a bit like a non-day :T.

    FIVE for today (Wednesday)

    1. Struggled to drag myself out of bed this morning, but needed to up 'n' out handy :(.

    2. Found Nathan in qute a strange mood - his Christmas Decorations were in danger of being blown down/away, so he was NOT happy at all. He finally dismantled everything, rather than risk them being damaged or lost in the wind.

    3. Talked him into coming inside for a hot drink and some lunch - he asked for an Omelet with Ham 'n' Cheese and a mug of tea .................... bit of a miracle as he will normally only eat Pizza :D!

    4. Managed to do a 'mountain of laundry' for DD - Nathan brought a pile down from his bedroom, which had me rather .

    5. Heard lots of banging from upstairs a bit later - turns out that Nathan's chest of drawers had 'fallen apart' ...................... mmmm . THAT'S where all the laundry came from!!! Think we'll have to be looking on Freecycle for another set of drawers :(.

    6. Managed an hour with DD when she got home - feel so sorry for her! It's one step forward and two backwards for her these days, but it was nice to have time to sit and chat a bit. She's working hard to make a success of this Horticulture Course and it does her good to get out of the housel.

    7. Went to Bible Study at church this evening - my 'personal outlet time'. Lovely group of people with a great leader who gives us all time to express what we get from the passage that we've read together - doesn't just 'talk at us' :j :D.

I think I'm about 'done in' for now, so going to snuggle down ........................ back to Nathan-sitting again tomorrow morning - ho hum ;)!

Good morning. It's Thursday. It's very wet out but at least the wind has died back.

Wednesday was a very disappointing day.

Architect came first thing. Builder had led me to believe all was completed and ready for completion certificate to be arranged. NO it's not. Much to be done. Unfortunately I'd paid him the final payment the day before.

The plasterer had asked when he could come out Wednesday afternoon or Thursday. I'd said Wednesday. He didn't bother his backside even contacting me to say he wasn't coming. When I texted him to day he'd completely wasted my time. He said sorry will come tomorrow if that's okay? Told him it wasn't . He is such a slime ball. But I'm still left with 3 rooms that need repainted.

Plumber. This has been ongoing, they put in 2 new ceilings . They need siliconed. One still has nails hanging out ( as spacers) I sent a text last week that wasn't replied to. I sent a very long one on Sunday that was replied to by an 'absolutely, phone you tomorrow ' so they got another yesterday saying its Wednesday . Please send me a refund so I can pay someone else. Got a text at 9.15 to say will come Thursday afternoon.

I was seriously upset by them all. Their lackadaisical attitude.

I'd made a steak pie, roast potatoes, sprouts and broccoli and peas and that's what kept me going! I really wanted my tea! So I had my tea and then went to bed at 7pm!

I didn't sleep . Just lay quietly. Away from everyone else.

Ive started to return spare room into DD1 room . She leaves for Hawaii tomorrow and she too has had a crazy busy day with much still to be done...but she's found time to get my favourite Australian magazine! Hurrah!

I think I shall get suitcase out for me today and start putting things in. I'll be at work next 6 days then away.

Right, have a good day :) it can only be better!
  • Surprising how quickly I can forget my pleasures - I haven’t posted since Saturday  but here goes - not sure I will reach 20 though :o
