Good morning. It's a chilly one here.
My Sunday was a pleasant day.
Up early and started wrapping nieces Christmas gifts. So they're all done and returned. She's very grateful and I just enjoy doing it! Win win!
Watched some catch up telly whilst I wrapped. In my jammies. Nice candles on. Two robins in the garden.
Pottered around. Made a lovely soup . It had a carrot and turnip and butternut squash and a potato in it with some turmeric, paprika and the last of a jar of Cajun spice. Found a baton of bread in freezer so toasted that.
Sorted through a box of craft stuff that's been packed and in garage for over a year. Like a million memories. As had photos and tickets and business cards and sundries ( used to scrapbook) tidied away in my new to me sideboard and shall hand on to it for now.
Did the ironing. Had stripped the spare room bed , soon to be DD1 room again.
Made a chicken pie for tea with little roast potatoes and I had sprouts.
Was just thinking about bedtime when a knock at the door...GN and her granny were picking up her daddy ( who works nearby) but GN needed the toilet so could they use our toilet! Of course and an impromptu whirlwind of GN .
Messages /emails to plumber ( still to silicone ceilings) , builder ( someone and I don't care who but someone has to re-paint my walls/ ceilings that needed re-plastered. To the architect who would pop out last week.
I start my new job this morning so I've had a restless night and weird work situation dreams. One of which was going back to my first job in Australia but going back now .
Have a good day.0 -

Sunday pleasures,
Stir up Sunday in our house too DD cake cooked for 5 hours and house smelt wonderful. Bittersweet as it was always something Mum & I did together.
Whilst it was baking I went over the yard to see girlie, brought her in from the paddock and it was like having a massive kite on the end of a rope, she was snorting and jumping around. Pleasure was that a few months ago she wouldn’t have respected my personal space and I would have been trampled plus she would probably have taken off, there is improvement!
Home and Capt S had cut grass which also cleared a lot of leaves up so garden looked v tidy.
Lazy afternoon reading and dozing.
Watched Dynasties, love those programmes.0 -
Hello everybody - I've not posted for quite a few days
. It's NOT that I've had no pleasures, or blessings, in my life - because I have ........................ I've just been so busy with lots of things. So
1. Being thankful for my family who seem to think that I'm indispensable - hmmm, methinks ................ blessing or curse ?
2. Had another couple of days 'Nathan-sitting' - watching him create his Christmas Display at the front of their house. Poor lad was wondering why the lights kept going OFF whenever it rained. Turned out that his 'outdoor/all-weather connector' wasn't doing its job properly. When he opened it up, there was quite a bit of liquid inside it ......................... so he promptly ordered another one from Amazon. Personally, I'd have been having very strong words with the place that he bought the original one from, but he doesn't 'do confrontation' - unless it's his Mum and sisters
.
3. Had a brainwave  on Friday when I realised that :santa2: was arriving at our local Garden Centre on Saturday. Rang DS2 and asked him if 'The Bobster' (DGS5) would like to go along. Must have been a good idea as it took him less than an hour to arrive complete with child, pram PLUS all the paraphernalia that's involved with a 2yr old. Apparently he had to work the next day and DDiL needed to get on with giving the newly-plastered kitchen its 2nd coat of paint - so good move all round :j.
4. Visit to :santa2: went well - but the other  for Saturday wasn't quite so good. Pirate Face Paint is NOT a good idea on a 2yr old ! Black eyepatch / black moustache / black beard doesn't mix well with the hands of a 2yr old - had to wipe his hands so many times, that I gave up and had to give it 'the baby wipe treatment' and just leave the 'red bandana' under his fringe
.
5. Followed that with a trip to MrT's for a late lunch plus a bit of shopping and then waited for a very paint-splattered DDiL to meet up with us in Co$ta for a well-earned cuppa.
6. No church yesterday - joint service with another congregation in Liverpool - so had a well-earned lie-in for a change. Did two loads of laundry which mostly dried on the washing line :j! Finished drying and airing it all off on the airers and radiator rails in the evening/overnight :T.
7. Lovely surprise visit yesterday from DGD1. She'd been home from Uni for the weekend and called in on her way to get the coach back to Leeds. It's great to see how she's grown-up so much since 'branching out' ........................ and she's off to USA for 6mths next year as part of her course work.0 -
Well done MHags
V Well after liver and bacon last eve, back to work with golden flakes of corn and fresh milk. Proper milk. Back with a lunch box and a half. Snorker roll, cucumber, toms, Blackcurrant jelly with ornages, orange and cheese, not of smoked Applewood!
4 Disappointed that the man with free passes to the wooded center of parcs did not get my email address. I wonder what scam is on buckface today! Usual carp. Hence my posts are just bullshine!
3 According to some news items available on the web of deceit implants are bad for you. As such, my ICD is …
2 Nite BoP is picking up where he left off in the gym. That was after last nites movie on the flix of net called Set it up. BoPsie had a been there episode while watching.
Not having one again today.

Pleasures for yesterday
1. cleaning the house is not a pleasure. having a clean house is
2. DD went to a convention - it was nice having a chat driving to and fro and i got a bit of a drive alone with loud music on the opposite journeys
3. OH and DS went UTV (Up the Villa) who won 4 - 2. Very happy menfolk.
4. OH cooked roast pork for tea. We aren't big on pork but that was delish.
5. DS stayed till after 9 before going back to uni. I do like it when he's here (though i wish he were happier generally). Going down to Plymouth with him tomorrow for an open day on Wednesday.
Have a nice evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Hi, Monday pleasures.
I am now employed again. And have a shiny contract! Which I've not had for a while. Had one in first job in Australia but none since. So I'm part time minimum 16 hours and may be opportunity for more if I want / is required. I want to try and strike a happy balance of work / home. I'm fortunate if I live simply I can afford to do this.
It's cafe work. It's what I'm used to. Felt at times I was the granny being taught how to suck eggs...then the manager was taking photos of my latte art! If there's one thing I know it's how to make a good coffee! Went past quickly.
Then it was kitchen showroom to pick up door 4 and 4th time lucky it wasn't damaged.
Then onto the big toy shop at retail park ( aka my idea of hell! ) niece had called in a panic as there were only a few of the dolls that GN had asked Santa for and she's at work next few days and could DD2 or I get it...last one on the blooming shelf! So it's bought and wrapped and waiting to be picked up.
Our elves were to be found climbing the stairs. They'd almost reached the top by the time I got home. This made GN giggle apparently.
I bought curtains for living room patio doors. They're was too much heat being lost with just my pretty ones up. It's made a difference already.
Lasagne for tea and potato skins found in the freezer, peas and sprouts!
An evening in front of the telly is planned but hey that probably means zzzzzz!0 -
At last I'm getting rid of this cold for sure -I've had a terrible week, one day thinking I was over the cold then the next day as bad as ever. But woke up this morning without a sore throat and am feeling almost back to normal. My five for today are;
1) Feeling better.
2) Finished the last of the Christmas stockings today - all 9 finished :j. These are all for adults as the children were given stockings last year.
3) Drove to the next village to post an eBay sale. While there bought bread and milk on offer for only £1.50 for both.
4) Spoke to dil this morning who told me that dgd wants knitting wool and needles from Santa so she can learn to knit. I'm really happy about this and am going to sew a personalised knitting bag for Santa to supply.
5) Looking forward to going to bed tonight knowing that I am surely, absolutely, definitely going to be feeling even better tomorrow.
Going to make a cuppa and settle down to watch Martin at eight xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Pleasures for today (Monday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son had a half decent day at school; bigger son had a good morning at work (had a bonfire) and is staying at his friend's overnight.
3) Hens OK.
4) Had haircut at college at 9.30 - £3. They have so few male models that it is free for men! Have told the Frith family men.
5) On to Beards Away for beard waxing (more strips needed as the years go on...) and eyebrows threaded.
6) Went to a talk about SEND pupils and how the new policies will affect us. There is NOTHING EVER in our county like this. Like, absolutely nothing. Even Autism West Midlands have never put on one event locally, which means an hour long drive to Birmingham if I ever want to go on a workshop. Anyway, off we parents all toddled to carpet town and had a jolly good shout at the council man (hardly his fault) about the local schools and how they are not really doing what they should be doing. One of the local high schools has gone from good/outstanding to failing in every single aspect of Ofsted. 2 of the parents had a child in the local special school and one child with an EHCP in mainstream (like smaller son) and said how the special school was better...
7) Bought fire cement so I can mend the stove tomorrow (it's sucking in air around the chimney join).
8) Made gammon etc for tea.
9) Smaller son and I watched I'm a Celebrity and I made mince pies.0 -
Mine for yesterday (Monday) ............
1. Had quite a good night's sleep :j!
2. Lovely unrushed start to the day as I didn't have to be 'out the door' until 11.00am to get to the CS for my afternoon shift.
3. Took a flask of piping hot 'Home Made Courgette & Celery Soup' to have for my lunch before starting work.
4. Bargain Of The Day from the shop - a Super King Size Duvet (13.5 tog) - still in it's original bag unused - for £5 (priced by my supervisor NOT me). I also managed to pick up a book and DVD on Cricket for a stocking filler for OH for £2.
5. Popped into A$DA for whoopsie hunt - large pack of Ham On The Bone (£1.53 instead of £4); Gluten Free Granola Bars (£1.50 instead of £3); and Wild Bird Seed for downstairs neighbour (£2.50 instead of £5.00).
6. Evening meal of Ham Salad with Spicy Rustic Chips done in Actifry .
7. Feet up - Emmerdale / Coronation Street x 2 / Poirot MOTOE / Vera - what more could a girl want?
