Belated birthday wishes PK
Bedtime! Hurrah! I'm tired. I'm always hopeful of a good sleep.
Went to lidl first thing. Had a £10 off £40 spend, so went round with my calculator. Met friends and had a nice chat.
Home. Quick dog walk. Hung out washing. Read a tiny bit of book with just a tiny bit left. Went to mum's. Continuing with tidying.
Went to t as had (from mum) a £6 off £40 spend. So I'm all stocked up with toiletries/ cleaning products/ dog food. So I've spent £64 today but got £16 worth of extra stuff.
Home. Quick dog walk then sat & finished book.
Made a feast for dinner. The niecelys were here and the new boyfriend with the seven year old telling him if he upset her cousin she'd sort him out!
Fajitas, tacos with chilli, salad, nachos. Lovely to have everyone around the table. An apple pie de-lurked from the freezer .
Chit chat. I've missed our Thursday night meals . Nice text from niece saying thanks.

Belated Happy Birthday Purple Kitten
Thursday pleasures
Dry daybut overcast & misty as well as being chilly
DH got the all clear on his eye :T
Pleasant walk by the dock to the sm, fed the water birds - mute swans, coots, mallards & the ubiquitous seagulls. Also picked up 84 pieces of litter.
Sm wasn’t too busy & only one person in front of me at checkout.
Nice bus driver - he let an elderly lady with a crutch get sat down BEFORE pulling away :T
DH relocated the new to me TV cabinet - we will be transferring TV, DVD/VHS Player & Sk* Box tomorrow from the coffee table they currently reside on
Still admiring my telephone/router shelf
Yummy dinner - all from freezer & food stores.
Fed the fox
Kitchen cupboard fronts & all stainless steel items FINALLY cleaned :rotfl:
Catching up on everyone’s pleasures

Pleasures for today (Thursday).
1) House pretty warm despite nasty frost this morning.
2) Hens well and 3 eggs. They don't seem to have been slowed down by the cold yet (and the shed is waiting if they are). Cleaned their sleeping quarters out so there is not a trace of damp in there for them.
3) Got various jobs done - bed changed, 2 loads of washing done etc.
4) Now the new shed is up, got the log pile from where we had plonked it and stacked it up neatly in the proper place down the side of the shed again! Nice to be getting everything back to normal.
5) Took mum to her hospital appointment (on waiting list for a corneal transplant - well, presumably two!)
6) Popped into Waitrose for a cup of tea after that and to find a gingerbread house kit. I asked one Waitrose lady and she took me for a little walk to whisper "The ones at Morrisons are really good"! :-D
7) Enjoyed I'm a Celebrity.
8) In bed with 1 hwb and will watch Ambulance. Even though it is always sad.0 -
1) new library app installed, free ebook started
2) browsed free mags via library app - country cottages and Christmas decor ramped up. Pretty but I'm greatful for small, no fuss cosy that I have.
3) touch wood I am thankful that my medication has stopped the night sweats. I realised last nigh I haven't had one wake me for two weeks. Progress.
4) We picked up a thermal vest for DH from Lidl. Slightly brushed on the inner with a hood and front piece for over his mouth and nose. £4.99 excellent for fishing. Got a large to compensate for my shrinking it.
5) greatful for the strength to sort things and deal with my lot even though I don't want to. I'm wired in both a nature/nurture sense to put my head in the sand but I make a point of fighting it and yesterday I had acceptance and made moves to deal with things the best I can.0 -
Good morning,
PK Happy Birthday :j
Yesterday
1. Managed to get to the H&S workshop on time, despite the M6. :j
2. Beautiful sunrise on the way to Leicester.
3. Met some nice people at the workshop. I was very anxious about using the machines, and I think I was probably annoying the trainer.Certificate lasts 5 years, so may be able to retire before It runs out :rotfl:
4. Had a Starbucks at the Services while the car charged. Phoned DH to get Fish and chips for tea and it was waiting when I eventually arrived home.
5. Just had a lovely chat with DS1 about family. Ended up reminiscing and laughing uncontrollably about grandmas :rotfl: Nice that we share the same sense of humour.
Have a lovely day0 -
Happy belated birthday to PurpleKitten - enjoy the cake and strawberries
My six for yesterday were;
1) Headed off to Glasgow early. Parked car at brothers then caught the express bus. Arrived 9.40.
2) Went to JL and bought the Christmas fabric I needed and another 9 pieces as they had 20% off in the sale. They'll all be kept for Christmas projects next year. No idea what yet.
3) Then spent £15 in Poundland on stocking fillers. I'll have to make a list and see what else I need. Bought Lynx body wash for sons stockings. I remember this from years ago when it was all the rage. I'm sure it'll be a blast from the past for them.
4) On my way home I popped into brothers and had a good blether with sis-in-law. Had two yum yums instead of lunch !!!
5) Then stopped at Farmfoods to stock up on toilet paper and came out with the Christmas turkey. It cost £13.99 for a 2.66k turkey crown which was a good price I thought.
6) Had a lovely dinner with an ex colleague who came to visit. She is still working and mega stressed. She's 55 and counting the days till she's 60. So glad I'm no longer there.
Posting this while I'm still in bed with a cuppa. I had thought about going into the sales today but my cold has got worse and I'm feeling really rough so just going to stay home and take it easy xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Belated Birthday wishes PK am glad you had a good day.
Some recent pleasures,
Dragging myself out when all I felt like was curling up in a darkened room, the sunshine and fresh air did me good.
Time spent with pony, she is the sweetest little mare and offered comfort when needed.
Not that :money: but had a lovely meal out with Capt S, cosy pub which was just busy enough to have a buzz about it, good food and time with my beloved.
Went into town of gown for haircut.
Such good service received from Bo*ts, lady behind counter was smiley, helpful, produced vouchers for money off and generally a credit to company she worked for and I told her so.
Followed Mr Slater’s recipe for Bolognese, took much longer but worth it.
Looks like the eldest hollow legged one has found a flat, pleased for him and will be nice for our spare room to be tidy again and not resemble a student hovel!0 -
Saw last day that one of the parishioners has ventured off track and away from this thread. No worries, BoP will not name the one who enjoyed proper foods elsewhere. Liver. Better with best back, toe nail onions, mushrooms, toms, baked haricot has beans and topped with a poached egg!
Yous secret VJsMother is safe with me! Note BoP’s middle name is squealer!
Belated ‘appi Birthday, and nice cake as well, to PK!
Right that is the parishioners sore ted.
V Wents out to do mid weak shop and got more prawns. Fortunately BoPsie, who checks the frigerator thing, miraculously pulled out a packet I purchased earlier! Cans no go wrong! Had it with Oh So Ming sauce and nasta pasta. Nice!
4 At mill! But dull this day. Just getting tickets for trip up Norff on Big Train that by-passes Warster. Off to where they finish our cloth off! Probably that will be a free lunch as well, as I has worked for it!
3 really cheesed that I did not win that clickbait info gathering free 15 day stopover at the centreparcshardin Bristol Zoo!
2 Night BoP will be testing his new railcard for people with lug problems. Inn town, paint is red.
Not having one again today!
One for the weakened!0 -
My five for today are;
1) Feeling quite miserable with this cold and have practically lost my voice. I've stayed in bed all day hoping I'll feel better for tomorrow as my friend is taking me out for the day for my Christmas present. Fingers and toes crossed
2) I got my "500 posts on the forum badge" today :T - it's just taken me 11 years. I used to post a lot but after my dad died I just couldn't bring myself to post for a long time. I was on MSE posting when I got the telephone call about dad. Funny how the mind works.
3) Technology today is great when you're laid low. I have my tv with freeview, my iPad with Netflix etc and my mobile phone all in the bedroom. Brilliant :j I remember when I'd have had nothing except a book to read.
4) I have made a list of what I want to put in the Christmas stockings. On Sunday I'll check to see what I already have and hopefully won't have to buy too much.
5) I am still enjoying watching all the Christmas movies.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

1 We spent the day pretty much preparing and loading up for an event tomorrow.
2 Popped out and abandoned plans immediately as traffic was gridlocked, thankfully we have a onestop on the corner bread and bananas needed for tomorrow snaffled turned around and back in 5 mins.
3 Dinner is from yesterday’s batch cooking only turmeric rice with it this time, he’ll never notice it’s not exactly the same as yesterday’s food.
4 Chocolate cake.
5 Watching the full moon rise through the French windows.0
