Hello ,sorry I've missed a few days.
Yes U3A is great ,so many different interests you could follow if you had time and all at reasonable cost .
There is loads mire I could do .
    Anyway Five pleasures trying hard
1 Out to a quiz with DH and friends last night ,in a village hall a few miles away ,dark and uneven path ,but we got DH in with no falls !
We didn't win ,marathon let us down,we couldn't work out the cocktail anagrams ,(we've all obviously led sheltered lives !)
2 shopping today came in under budget.
3 won £30 on Wednesday lottery ,I'd have stopped doing it years ago ,but DH is convinced that one day he'll win the jackpot .
4 Home made curry from freezer was lovely
5 DH happy his football team won convincingly, top of the championship!
    Thank you all for reading
  • 1 The fundraising event we were part of went well, we raised a good amount with our part really pleased.
2 I took extra food and drink as we were on the go and we had the lot.
3 I entered the raffle and dead chuffed to win first prize a massive hamper, and then other prises of biscuits and pudding.
4 picked up a take away on the way home, fish and chips seems very luxurious.
5 Absolutely shattered hoping for a great night’s sleep.

    1) A lie in!

    2) Part baked rolls for lunch.

    3) Hens well.

    5) Bigger son made a very nice steak and ale pie for tea with mashed potato.

    6) Enjoyed I'm a Celebrity and had mince pies.

    Good Morning,

Yesterday was a day of everything I touched tipped, spilt or smashed :rotfl:.......

    1. Builders turned up, and put in another lintel.

    2. Got half a bale of straw from the farm shop, so hens will be nice and snug all winter.

    3. Sold my old phone......new phone is refurbished, and I will move to a sim only deal next month, so will be much cheaper. :j Celebrated with festive hot chocolate a Nero's.

    4. Shopping in Lidl in search of the cheap cheese. (Used the £5 off £40 coupon from the Xmas magazine at the entrance). If the man further ahead of me in the queue had been sensible he could have split his shopping and saved £10! Unfortunately, there were people in the way.

    5. BBQ ribs from Lidl for tea. Very cheap and very nice.....DS1 had to go to work, so DS2 had seconds :rotfl:

    6. Made my reindeer head screen prints into Xmas cards.

    Have a lovely day :)

    Saturday pleasures,

Up early to watch the cricket so breakfast was boiled egg with marmite soldiers, on trays.

Pottered all morning and got many, annoying little jobs completed including the hoovering and washing out of the bottom of my wardrobe, found a hole in one of my fav jumpers and can’t take the chance it might be moths!

Arrangements made to meet up with pal in December, calendar is getting full.

United came back to get a draw with 10 men, Capt S enjoyed watching spurs beat the boys from the bridge, good day for our teams.

Hot dogs with winter slaw for tea, watched Strictly and a First Dates.

    Morning all from my bed

    Pleasures for yesterday

1 eggy for breakfast. Dippy, with sourdough toast soldiers
    2. Drives to and from Cardiff were ok. We hardly drive anywhere and I get bored very easily, but this was fine. Put some oldie radio station on coming back and had a singalong
    3. Met DS off his train. He is ok but clearly going through some mental upheaval, we will see what he decides. The important thing is that he knows he has choices and he's opening up to us
    4. Nice food. Italian for lunch and stopped in Ross on Wye for curry on the way home
    5. Match was exciting and Wales won. Loved the anthems and the male voice choir...

    Busy housework day today....
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Dippy eggs, proper food! Only can be served with buttered marmite soldiers!

V Just watched the cricket and lookls good for a three nil. Now ready for the gooooners!

4 BoPsie is doing the cards, all bought from the RAFBF and not the emporiums. Please avoid the emporium cards as they say they give to your curse, but give a pittance while their greasy palms become more sweaty.

3 Had Vets breakfast yesterday. Low turnout and is far better than the farmers effort down the road.

2 Nite for tea is liver and bacon, with extras! Proper food!

    Not having one today!

    This one will play out!

    Good evening,

I have retired to bed early.......

    Today

    1. Builders have nearly finished boarding the roof. :j

    2. No shopping today. Stayed home and pottered about finishing off projects and sorting the dining room. Found 'stuff' in the loft.

    3. Face time with DD. She seems very happy and positive.

    4. Thanksgiving meal with friends. Lovely food. We have planned Christmas dinner. I have volunteered to do all the veg. Can't make too many mistakes peeling carrots :rotfl:

    5. DH has saved a photo of the Christmas tree last year......I remembered we said we would do the same colours this year, but I forgot which colours :rotfl:

hoping for a productive week. :)

    Pleasures for today (Sunday).

    1) A lie in!

    2) Caught a bit of the Archers - I haven't bothered with it in recent years as it has got rather silly.

    3) Hens well.

    4) Cleared the car of scrap wood that will go for kindling then filled it again with rubbish for the tip.

    5) Smaller son and I went to nearby enormous garden centre to look at the Christmas decorations.

    6) Popped to Waitrose for bits bigger son needed to make our tea - sweet and sour chicken and rice.

    7) Enjoyed I'm a Celebrity.

    dippy eggs nom nom vjsmum
    1) Stir up Sunday (and church AGM) i find myself on vestry for another year. flattered they think i'm doing a good job :-)
    2) treated mum to lunch - sausage and mash at my favourite bar (no noisy tv or music)
    3) we went through my talk for tomorrow - i did tell her no such thing as a free lunch!
    4) then Compline. Gorgeous
    5) then chatting to homeless guys who joined us after the service. think they were looking for a bit of food and warmth. one of them has just turned 30. he told me he'd accomplished nothing with his life. as we chatted turned out he's saved 3 people from over-doses. he's working on coming clean. my sister posted a cartoon about the chicken feeling humbled about the cow who'd jumped the moon. Strikes me life is about crossing the road - that young man has crossed roads i'll never cross.
listening to Jill Archer stir her puds. Jill, Stir up Sunday wouldn't be the same without you!
