5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

1) We have Ruby dog staying with us for the next two days!
2) The rain is due to clear this afternoon and hopefully I'll be able to take her for a nice long walk.....it's been a while and I've missed doggie walkies!
3) We've finally managed to sort out our Co Op card saga, our existing cards aren't taken by our local shop but are by two in neighbouring towns so we've got the Christmas wine using the savings on the cards that we've earned by shopping in those shops and now have new cards that can be used in the local shop!
4) I learned the right way to lay up the fire in our new stove yesterday, thank heavens for online tutorials!
5) Saturday looks like being a super day as we have rugby in the afternoon and I have a concert to go to in the evening, choral society doing Handel's messiah in the Cathedral.....and then it CAN be Christmas!0 -
Good to see people not using the emporium and greasy palms for the holiday cards. Keep it up.
V Nows yous heard BoP hark on and on and on and on and on and on enuff! Now as you know BoP upgrades his fone on Friday of dark. So wents to pick up fone from depot of old linked city. 10 years ago it was tw bays and a couple of vans. Not any more as there was a plentitude of wagons and seventeen bays! So if you work on the High Street. I would consider retraining. Same up road from our mill pond, the vans rush out at eight and here there are about thirty of the things!
4 As I talks yesterday about the race to the Norff, it is unfortunate that I seem to have bought the weather back down with me. Mxnchester weather it is here today!
3 Heading to the gym again tonight, there is a lot of trimming to do now until the San Francisco trip in March.
PM2DD Watched the goal rush last night of the mariners. We also had one disallowed!
Had one today. Don’t believe everything about playground brawls?
And on with your day, instead of wasting your time reading the BoP News!0 -
one goal disallowed bop? well that's just not cricket!
how frustrating mhags

I’m disappointed with a regatta top I ordered for DH, which arrived today. It looks too big and it’s entirely the wrong colour on my screen its navy and grey here it’s mainly grey! I’ve kept the receipt however returning it would cost as much as the top hmm oh well you never know he “might” like it the Christmas present dud.
1 Chores done, bird feeders re filled, our bedding off and clean on, I’m on my 6th washing load, downstairs all hoovered and mopped.
2 Porridge for brekkie, fish pie was tea, but I’m still feeling hungry.
3 Survived a nurse check-up and multi tasked getting the flu jab at the same time, DH trying not to sulk as I booked him in also.
4 Remembered to water the Christmas cakes with Courvoisier.
5 Candles burning, animals happy, and place clean for 5 mins.
I still haven’t painted0 -
Think I can summon up five for today:
1. Quick visit to Aldi on behalf of DD. Weather was atrocious as I got off the bus - my (empty) wally-trolley almost blew away as I crossed the road .
2. Came out of Aldi to a torrential downpour - didn't actually need an excuse to run for Co$ta for a well-deserved Coffee!
3. Finally got to DD's drenched to the skin and Nathan whacked the heating up for me - good lad!!!
4. Had bought a 'plain, basic pizza' for Nathan with a pack of Pepperoni - so topped it myself PLUS extra cheese. He was completely silent while eating, so I presumed it was going down well ! Poor lad finally finished taking down his Christmas Grotto from the front of the house - I'm sure it'll all be back up again by the end of next week
.
5. Got OH to put the oven on while I was on my way home - jacket spuds went in as soon as I got through the door. Had them with 'snorkers' and baked beans . OH feeling very content at the moment.

A day of much wet!
Went as far as morrisons for petrol. Tank filled up. Now I'm working will be using much more fuel.
Spent a huge £7 in store. Really didn't need anything much. Bought 3 little primroses. And some cakes for pudding.
Home and had missed a parcel delivery. Not sure why ( when they often come to me) they never asked a neighbour.
Waited. Waited. Waited. For plumber. Sent text. Replied that as I hadn't replied to his 'come tomorrow ' text last night it didn't suit...this from the man who doesn't reply to mine. Refrained from a rude reply . The nice plumber came and did what needed doing.
The plasterer messaged me whilst in morrisons. So, nobody in? I messaged him back much later and said no. That's why I asked you to come yesterday. Then I told him he was rude. No reply.
Niece & great niece came for tea and DD 2 friend from college. Pizza and garlic bread. A snowman cookie or an eclair for pud.
Then an evening most fabulous. Making Christmas door wreath workshop . Loved it and had my first mince pie of the season. Yummy.
Dropped an advent gift at friends house. Had to hide it as she wasn't in. Chat on phone when I got in .
I may have put up Christmas tree or two today...in my defence I'm working then away! Lovely.

Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Up early and all smaller son's ingredients packed plus chefs whites, tins etc. Got him to school by 8am! The fish pie was declared a triumph but he was not quite so happy with his lemon meringue pie. He had to do all the stages himself to pick up as many marks as possible so he filleted the fish, made the roux and piped the mashed potato on the pie, instead of chucking it on like I do. His friend made lasagne and he even made the lasagne sheets from scratch. He fell asleep in the car on the way home.
3) Bigger son had his motorbike repaired then went to college.
4) I was quite busy during the morning giving the living room its second (and final) coat of paint. With the furniture moving then the cleaning up afterwards, that took 4 hours.
5) Did admin type jobs. I need to go to court because the insurance company of the man who ran into my car haven't paid out...
6) Hens OK despite the storm and I cleaned out their sleeping quarters.
7) Fish pie for tea!
8) My brother came to play board games then poker.
9) Made mince pies and jam tarts which we ate watching I'm a Celebrity.
10) In bed now with 1hwb and will watch Ambulance.0 -
My five for today are;
1) Visited dil and grandkids today. All buses came on time and sat upstairs on the double decker bus. Was very careful not to do pole dancing on my way down :rotfl:
2) Weather was so awful dil met me off bus so didn't have to walk uphill in the heavy rain. Also took the car to collect grandson from nursery and later to collect older kids from school.
3) Helped dgd with her homework - amazing reader for primary one.
4) Watched Dynasties ( the Lion episode) after dinner. Brilliant programme but really hard to watch in parts. I was worse watching it than the grandkids who were all very matter of fact about it while I had my eyes shut tight
5) I usually have 20 minutes to wait in between 2nd and 3rd buses on the way home. But as I was getting off 2nd bus my next bus arrived. It was the previous bus that was running late. What a pleasure not having to wait in the cold as I was really tired by then.
First thing I do when I get in is put the electric blanket on so I'm off to bed now xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Yesterday:
1. In the morning we got an email to say a team of beauticians/hair stylists/masseuses are coming in the day of our Christmas party, so before I go to the hotel I'm getting a free luxury manicure and we'll have champagne in the foyer as a pre-bonus 'thank you' for a great year. I suspect this is to stop people sacking off work to 'work from home' to have time to get ready, but still I'm excited
2. We had a team planning day and decided to take it off site. Had an amazing falafel and beetroot wrap and some lovely posh herbal teas.
3. DH home last night. Unfortunately on his laptop all evening but nice to have him around. We split a bottle of red wine.
4. Fire on last night whilst watching Riddington Place and Mad Men in the newly decorated living room
5. MIL gave me a gorgeous cabinet which works well in my newly decorated dining room0
