DD - a very late starter to the Bodyguard here but I'm up to the end of episode 4 now. As always, I can't remember the names of all the characters and who does what!
Pleasures for today (Monday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Bigger son walking very carefully but managed to go to work (racing car company) where the owner had a look at his bike for him.
3) I spent another 2 hours sanding floorboards :-/
4) Also tidied up after the weekend - washing, tons of washing up, tidying etc.
5) Hens well and 3 eggs today.
6) Put something on Ebay.
7) Gammon, egg and chips for tea with tomatoes and mushrooms.
8) Lit the stove tonight which took the chill off, to the point where it reached 24 degrees downstairs!0 -
- Watched Drowning in Plastic which was horrific, not sure what we can do when the whole culture of a large part of the word needs to change, but it made me more determined than ever to cut down on our waste and single use plastic (or any other material) as much as possible. 'Disposable' is not an option except in emergencies!
- The Autumn colours are so lovely
- Made a wish-list of clothes I need for the autumn/winter - I buy mainly from charity shops and have a habit of forgetting what I actually need or what will go with the clothes I already have :rotfl:
- The lamb's lettuce I put in my hanging baskets is growing nicely
- Found some nice things which I'd forgotten I had which will be perfect for a raffle in aid of Macmillan which my friend is organising (things I bought in the January sales thinking they'd come in handy:))

Good morning. It's really rather windy here today. Had a very breezy first walk with Haggis this morning.
Yesterday had pleasant aspects in amongst the builderly dramas. The Bricklayer's bucket had a hole in ...water all over my Kitchen floor & which he had made an attempt at mopping up was still soaking wet. Came home from a beautiful dog walk to that.
Call from shop to say DD laptop had been fixed. So we went down to get that and also went to BnQ and got outside lamps, a roll of wallpaper and some chalk paint.
Papered my bathroom wall which I think is totally squeegee ! It's not perfect but it's my own! Will paint the rest of small walls round window and door frame today.
Made a lovely Cajun flavoured chicken and veg pasta last night. Very yummy and extra portions left for boyos lunch.
Having the heating on for a little while...I don't like that I see what it costs on my smart meter! Wearing lots of layers anyway as no radiators downstairs apart from downstairs loo...it's a cosy wee room!
I'm just loving the Autumn colours, when I came back last year most of the leaves had been blown off the trees! So it's just glorious to see the shades change and what a display nature puts on
Have a great day. I'm not sure if bricklayers will turn up as its a bit dodgy weather wise but I need to be suitabley attired if they do!
I'm going to start and chalk paint my new to me dining table and chairs. From dark brown to light grey to tie in with my new kitchen units. There will be no inside people today! Hubloomingrah0 -
DforV - love the exchanges between your sons :rotfl:
Morning all from the early train.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. yoga - a gentle one on a monday. Perfect
2. a trip to the pharmacy for our malaria tablets - off to SA on Thursday :T The pleasure being it was quick and painless - except for the cost  (though cheaper than malaria, I guess)
3. Made african peanut stew for meat free monday - or at least a variation of.
4. Started the upcycling of small side table - sanding and sugar soaping, which is more than stuff usually gets. If i'm home in time tonight i'll put a coat of paint on it.
5. Nice chat with friend - making our strategic plans to try for Glastonbury tickets...
Have a good day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Monday pleasures,
Woke up with good amount of energy so whizzed through household chores despite gammy knee.
Yard owner had moved fencing in Lu’s field to give her some new grass and she had eaten the whole lot in one goal so came in with food baby. She was groaning a bit so was a bit worried but stayed with her to make sure everything was working ok.
Finally watched last week’s GW, I especially like it when Nigel steals the show.
We are getting some spectacular sunsets and last nights was no exception.
Exercised little grey cells with UC and then watched the latest episode of Strangers, still not sure and think the test is I don’t really care what happens to the main characters!!0 -
The cake! How long does it drink for. As long as it takes. Bourbon and orange! Knockout! Watch this weak for cake and pud details. You know it is good for you and far better than the carp inn the emporiums.
While you are inn the emporiums at the moment, don’t forget to remove from view the evil products. Do not encourage evil. When I saw poor people, who were not fit to get the food flying over Ethiopia in the 80’s and then those who turned up to do hadj in KSA, yet had spent all their life savings on a folly, you realise that the tack on offer from the commercial emporiums does not make you rich, but lines their filthy pockets! Don’t grease their palms! As nan used to, she took half a crown from the tray, the god had enough silver already! If you want, give to MSF. They were on the ground long before the Buerk!
V Well that cottage pie that was so scrumptious on Sunday, is no more. All gone. Tum was rubbed! This is what happens when you put decent food on the table. Got it! See below before you even think about it!
4 That means unfortunately that BoPsie is short on her food this weak! Please think of BoPsie when you tuck inn later. Mind you the lunch box again today has a snorker in it, with loads of toms and cucumber. Strawbs, jelly and orange. Proper digestives and some cheese! Good for you.
3 Tonight BoP will be starting his SF Ready Body in the gym. Yes, BoP’s next tour is to San Francisco in March. Tour details to follow.
PM2DD Tonight is the night!
Not having one today. I’ll wait until the morning me thinks! Note that DD!
Now that is it for your version of the ‘Life of BoP’ this day!0 -
1) We CAN have a wood burner and it can have a free stander on a hearth it doesn't have to be an inset stove, brilliant news!
2) We tried the local fips and chips shop for supper last night as we'd both run out of oomph and were coming back from a walk around the lake, not too bad, not the best but acceptable.
3) Trip to town this morning on the bus and a visit to the super greengrocer who sells bags of things for £1 and the fruit and veg are always lovely and fresh and crisp.
4) Found the nicest book in a charity shop for those Pickles it's called The Bear by Mike Inkpen, spot on for my boys.
5) Found Heinz Tomato cuppa soups in B&M for 59p a packet so stocked up, they really are the best!0 -
Ms LW. Fission Chips. There is only one, Steels Corner House in Cleethorpes!0
