  • Not posted for a while so a few pleasures from the past couple of weeks.

    1. Enjoyed the sun yesterday while doing some gardening. Had plenty of stops for coffee and to admire the view.

    2. Long chat with DSr. He has been busy. He has been in contact with exGF but doesn't want to see her again. She is Ferrell and now has an assigned mental health nurse.

    3. DS2 still happy with his girlfriend. They still seem happy together. She stays here a couple of times a week and he stays there a couple of times a week.

    4. Work was good on Thursday. I worked with one other person. We get on well and was a relaxed day. As I left I met an old acquaintance who I had a quick chat with.

    5. Back has improved and feeling in a better place at the moment.

Morning - it's a lovely morning but rather overshadowed by the discovery of Tom Jones's body in the river here in Worcester, can't stop thinking about him and his poor family, so tragic :(:(

Hope your son is ok Frith, healing wishes from me too

We've got a family get together later and I'm feeling especially grateful for that today (and that DD2 escaped unharmed from a couple of silly situations she got herself into at uni which I didn't learn about til afterwards) and I'll be giving everyone an extra big hug - and I'm making a big Mary Berry chocolate cheesecake as my contribution :)

I'm also going to push on with getting geranium indoors and taking cuttings and getting my veg seedlings in the pots and baskets - heaven :)

Husband and DD2 doing the park run now, grateful for his recovery

Looks like being another nice day so hopefully our bedding will dry on the line :)

I'm just grateful for life and my loved ones today :heart2:
  • 1) Lovely day if a little cool, washing on the line, housework done, birds fed and HWK flu jabbed and all before 9 o clock!

    2) Rugby this afternoon woohoo!

    3) Village MacMillan coffee morning today in the Memorial hall and we've had an invite so I'll hopefully meet some more people.

    4) Seeing DD1 today which will be nice, meeting her before the rugby for a chat and hopefully going back with her for a cup of tea afterwards to let the traffic die down after the road is re-opened.

    5) Not having to cook tonight if I don't want to as there is chilli left from yesterday. I love cooking but sometimes it's nice to have an evening off.
  • morning all. ouch frith hope it is indeed just a nasty bruise.
i know it's not 24 hours since my last 5 but...

    5) Bodyguard episode 5 with breakfast
and now Bodyguard episode 6 while i soak in a lovely hot bubbly bath :-)

Ouch, Frith - hope he manages to have a good birthday anyway

    Pleasures for thursday

    1. yoga.. Always a tough class, the Thursday one. Ommmmm
    2. train to ICT was dire, the pleasure was arriving
    3. Such a beautiful late afternoon, literally dumped bag inside and went for a 'circuit' - 30 minute walk by the sea
    4. salmon for tea - nom
    5. My temporary crown fell out , the pleasure is that house in ICT is directly opposite the supermarket so i could nip over and buy fixodent (getting over my embarassment to do so... Fixodent!!) luckily it worked. THe other pleasure is having paracetomol after applying freezing cold fixodent onto my raw nerve ..:eek:

    And yesterday

    1. Uploaded my assessment (APR 3, DD - already!!) four days early (was done even earlier but i strategically left it)
    2. a load of washing done and hung out in the sunshine
    3. A retail moment - ICT isn't very retaily (as Frith will attest) but managed to buy a small side table that we need back at home and a pot of paint to tart it up with. Getting it back on the train will be interesting :rotfl: and bought a hand knitted cardi for great nephew to be, due just before christmas
    4. Did a long circuit - 1hr 20. Across the fields (Broadwater, Frith) turned left, went along the sea front
    5. Just got back and took my shoes off and friend called round "did i want to come to pub in aberdovey". Did I? Shoes rapidly back on and a very pleasant 2 halfs by the sea...

    Bonus 6th

Kavanagh is going to be investigated by the FBI :T
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Bedtime. Could hardly keep my eyes open watching casualty

    For today.
GN is sleeping over. First time in weeks due to building work. We've had a most pleasant evening.

Mostly dry. But blooming cold wind. Washing almost dry outside. All ironed & on clothes horse.

I have my bedroom back apart from 2 side tables from downstairs. Cleared my wardrobe, I've not had access for a couple of weeks due to stuff plonked in front. Bag for charity and a vacuum bag of summer clothing. I have so many lovely dresses /skirts from Australia that I never really wire here. I must I must lose some weight.

Plasterer here till mid afternoon. The pleasure was he went. He's a nice chap but I don't want them here on a Saturday.

I had my first date with my husband 30 years ago.

    Had curry for tea.

Niece took DD2 out, son away climbing mountains so it was just me & my dog this afternoon .

Hopeless Case - yes, I was still hoping for the best for Thomas Jones. We all did A levels/equivalent in Worcs (me, siblings and bigger son) then both my siblings did a degree at the University there.

    Pleasures for today (Saturday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens well and 4 eggs.

    3) Birthday celebrations kicked off with brunch at KFC (birthday boy's choice!)

    4) Picked up crutches and these have been amazing. He has not been able to put his foot to the floor at all today as it is too painful.

    5) Dropped smaller son off with his friends so he could watch the football - another win, 3-2!

    6) Bigger son and I went to a different, slightly further away motorbike shop which was fantastic - so much stock and helpful people (all leaping out of the way of the tall person on crutches).

    7) Had a bit of time to kill after the motorbike shop until picking smaller son up again so I randomly thought we'd go and have a cup of tea at Wolverhampton airport which I knew was sort of near where my grandparents used to live. It's nowhere near Wolverhampton really but in some lovely scenery, 1940s wartime buildings, small airstrip and a caf! and observation point - just the job! I'm surprised that no relation had ever taken me before.

    8) Went out for a birthday Indian with my parents and brother (sister and family are away) and also my school friend.

    9) After a quick stop at home for birthday cake, took bigger son to the pub and have just picked him up. He was put into the car by 2 of his friends and I had quite a game getting him up the twisty stairs and into his top bunk with the crutches while he is drunk as a lord :-D

    10) In bed now with 1 hwb and will listen to the News Quiz.
  • From yesterday.

    1. Met a friend for a coffee and a walk round local free garden. It was a sunny day and the tropical garden part looked stunning. Kept seeing a lady who seemed to admire all the same parts as us.

    2. Saw DS2 briefly before he went to play rugby. He managed to avoid concussion this week and only hurt his neck!!

    3. More ironing done and nearly at end of pile but more washing done and dried on the line!

    4. An away win for Quins. They left it till the very end though.

    5. Met DH cousin and husband for a meal. Had a lovely time. Initially met at MIL house and cousin asked for some plates she has. And also said the CS she volunteers at while come and collect the furniture when we want to clear the house.
