Slo-mo desktop functioning, very slo, not much mo, with usual white strikes+delayed keystrikes.
If only mse would let & post from mob. This was helpful for a few months until locked out, told 'incorrect pw and or username'. Not so, but they neither acknowledge nor answer my enquiries. Nor can I join under another name. Wish it could be sorted out.
So, back to lumbering hit-and-miss stuff, another reason I don't even attempt to wind desktop up more offten than necessary.
Rtnd a week or so ago - many adventures, one huge, but so much has happened - before, during, since.
Will try and throw a few down as they occur, right now.

    1. Late reading finish of Frank Gardner's Ultimatum. Actually bought this last week, a new book! - £8 offer in Mr T, when equally gripped by his 1st venture into fiction, Crisis. Have always admired him. No less now. & is a completist with writers and people like FG. Recommend
    https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-ab&ei=Us-DW9GsNMvKwQKSrbNY&q=frank+gardner+novels&oq=frank+gardner+novels&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0j0i22i30k1.22296.23648.0.24056.7.7.0.0.0.0.198.970.0j7.7.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.7.968...0i67k1.0.WaE83NIbYDg

    2. Many beautiful figs, shared, used. Rtnd to triffid-like tree, HUGE, laden, vastly spreading over front grass[& can't use 'lawn' descriptor with any truth] Raspberries, too. Only &rhubarbs have been slack this year. Need moving from under trees into more light.

    3. Spitalfields resumed last Thurs and okay. Lovely to be welcomed back, which always surprises &[have written that every time it happens]. Banking was a boost, after donating last week's oap to town of gown LP councillor, solicitor, caught by Kerala floods when visitng his home village. A good, effective man. Am also selling 2 plates which should be of LP interest - one re: miners' strike, other re: GCHQ TU ban. Fingers crossed for more £s. Really felt that every decent sale was to interesting, delightful people, as if drawn to &'s cause and desire to donate. Truly felt and still feel grateful. Councillor's friend has same Bank as &, so instant tfr was sure, swift, after several failures by all other means.

    4. A visit out of the blue, then next day too. Decisions to be made, but of course, 'decision' is not applicable here. Blood is.

    5. Wonderful CS purchase of complete CD set of This Sceptred Isle. Will listen with pleasure to these.

    6. Another who saw expiry date 31 Aug for Free Cake+Drink from JL - and, as rain lashed down - and a £99 JL sewing machine purchase tbc downstairs[how did that happen?]many of us were sitting upstairs in that establishment, looking out, all chatting pleasantly. We'd all, but one, seen our expiry dates:-), so apprised washing machine purchase couple alongside. They were curious, suddenly understood why jl partner had asked if they had a card.... They left, determined to join, conditional upon backdating cake+drink:-) , deffo. a card each :-)))

    7. Blackberries everywhere, including &'s no.2 freezer. Out to pick more after this.

    8. Good Church, thoughtful and some no-holds-barred prayers. Good. Good. Good. & added the life of John McCain.

    9. OK - still can't really work out how I changed blow-out r/f tyre in pitch black, Spain AP5, just on slope leading to b-i-i-i-g gorges viaduct. Safety hi-vis jacket on. 2 warning triangles out. Unload boot. Wheelnuts refused to budge, even with hammer, on this new-to-& Meriva. Finally, a couple of mms movement, with rubber mallet and just knew I would make it happen, manage somehow. Then jack slipped, with &'s right forearm luckily between wheel arch and hub. Could have been anything and everything worse. Have thought since 'as well no-one stopped' as wiser to be locked in until dawn and daylight. Phoned J+P 3 times. No answer. In the end, learnt they were out to dinner, thinking &'d be several more days, esp. with laden trailer..... Can't keep the All Blacks bloodline down...

10...and wasn't that great, in The Alma? Luvverley stuff. Black Fern Ladies and AB blokies, both with 28-point margins for the Laurie O'Reilly Trophy and the Bledisloe Cup, despite Wayne Barnes as referee. Fantastic Beauden Barrett performance - a record-breaking 4 tries in a match v.Oz!

Hope you saw some, Mrs LW:-)

    11. Of 15 postcards sent from Spain and France, only 5 arrived. Am being asked to read/decipher own writing on a couple:-))) That's pushing your luck.

    12. Glorious night was had with League of Gentlemen. Have the t-shirt and ok pics - amazing as & is in them. Next pleasure next week:
    https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2018/jun/04/heartstopping-horrors-aftermath-art-in-the-wake-of-world-war-review-tate-britain
and must squeeze in a last Courtauld peep, before it undergoes 2-year[at least] 'transformation'.

  • PM2DD Came off the rails!

V Did mega country pie yesterday with creamy cheese chive mash topping. Enought left over for three more! Tum well rubbed as well. Had the spotted Richard as well! Lumpy custard was served!

4 Did yard this morning and put week murderer down. They were running away like mad. Raffles inspected the yard.

3 Talking of Raffles, it was rain yesterday and he was snoozing well at home. We got him some wrong cat food recently and as he is known to do, go on a hunger strike, and pity eye BoPsie! Well he came back with his own again. He is only out for a few minutes and …

2 Day now watching the lass cricket. Not rounders is it!

Having one today again. Problems with the gas bored now. They want to change the meter again! AVOID

That's all the BoP news for you!

    1. Homegrown produce.

Have been enjoying our homemade pickles
Made a squash and chard curry with homegrown veg, served with cauliflower and potato coconut curry. Delish! Enough for a few days
Was gifted some elderflower cordial by a friend
Plenty of raspberries being picked daily now
Also enjoying loads and loads of french beans :)

    2. Lovely neighbours

A neighbour who I've only said hello to in the street dropped by some cookies. She had tried her next door neighbours but no reply. Their loss is my bum's gain!!

    3. CrossFit

Absolutely love it - DH joined me for the last two sessions as he's joined now too. I had to pick up the slack on burpees during a group workout because he was DYING. This is a man who randomly entered a 100 mile cycle last year, with no cleats, and got a bronze medal. Proud of how far I've come in my fitness!

We're also enjoying watching the archived CrossFit Games 2018 events. I'm not usually one for watching sports but this is what watching the original Olympics must've been - true all round athletes demonstrating what the human body can do. So exciting.

    4. Home

We have blitzed the house, done yet another declutter and I've organised a plumber, electrician, fireplace installer and decorator to come and give quotes this week. I ordered the suite for the downstairs cloakroom earlier today and am excited for it all to come together. Now going to light some smelly candles and enjoy.

    5. Cats

Not much to say here - I love 'em.

Life was more vertical today though still with a wobble.

Builders here in the morning though finished for the day by 1pm

Nice walk with Haggis and DD2, picked a few brambles. I'm going out with a tub tomorrow.

Made a lasagne. Managed to hide blooming runner beans in it.

Nice message from my nephew. I'd paid some money into their baby account, baby due in 7 weeks. I wanted them to get what they wanted.

Could have been worse but had a slip in the building site! However the washing stayed clean! I held it aloft as I went down.

Read my book, snuggled up with my doggy.

    Chat with sister.

Pleasures for today (Monday, but felt like Sunday all day).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hens OK and 2 eggs.

    3) Smaller son enjoyed a football match where his team won 2-1. They haven't lost yet this season.

    4) I did about 12 of the giraffes on the giraffe trail then got sidetracked by a massive outdoor exhibition on World War 1 (by Elgar's statue, for Worcester people).

    5) Had tea and a toasted sandwich in the cathedral. Checked all my favourite bits were still there - the bellringer's memorial windows, cloisters, scrubby garden in the centre. Didn't check on John and Arthur this time.

    6) Popped in to see my sister, brother in law and niece on the way home.

    7) Had salmon, roast pots, peppers and courgettes for tea.

    8) Picked up bigger son who drove home. Still won't slow down; we took some foliage with us today. :-/

    9) In bed now and will listen to the radio for a while.

    DD happy birthday.

    1. Weeded a patch of the garden which I've been meaning to do for a while. It looks so much better.

    2. DH painted a garden walk and took down some trellis. It looks much brighter and sunnier even when the sun isn't out!

    3. Went to taste wine at a local vineyard and came away with Apple juice. DS2 and his girlfriend came with us.

    4. Finishing off working on a bench which was FIL. Needs a bit more time spent on it but had been two years since we got it.

    5. More fish for tea.

    Belated Happy Birthday DD
Good to see you posting &

    Monday pleasures,

Woke up to sunshine after a very rainy sunday.

We all needed a real leg stretch so headed to next village with little dog and walked around the back of Godolphin training gallops, didn’t realised that it incorporated part of an old airfield.

Lots of potential foraging with blackberries, crab apples and damsons, will head back at some point this week with containers.

Didn’t stop at pub but stayed os :money: and came home for ploughman’s lunch and cider.

Popped over to see princess pony and for once was pleasantly surprised at lack of mud or perhaps my standards are just slipping :rotfl:

Tea on laps whilst watching footie on tv, Capt S pleased as his team beat MUFC, grumpy old Jose.

    Happy birthday!

Lainey We caught a bit of Flying Across Britain with Arthur Williams on Sunday night. It is surprising how many hidden/ disused/ repurposed airfields there are around the country. May now have to watch the rest of the series on catch up.

    Yesterday

    1. Lots of EBay sales. :j

    2. Helped DH Repair the floor of the hen house. Hens will be nice and cosy for the winter.

    3. More wood sawing with chainsaw. :D

    4. Meal deal from M&S for tea. Minimal cooking.

    5. Last one of Real Marigold Hotel. Enjoyed the scenery as that is where DH and I got engaged. Dreamed of retiring there ourselves. :) Then watched another couple of the Unforgotten. Quite a contrast.

Today I will mainly be wrapping up EBay parcels.

    Have a lovely day :)

HouseElf we watched that programme too, living in East Anglia we are used to the amount of old and existing air bases around, in fact I learnt to drive on one of them :rotfl: neither of us knew about this one but given the flat terrain it makes sense.
