    Afternoon all

    Sorry for your loss PK.

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. Taking my brolly - was warm and dry when i left home at 6.45, pulling into london at 8,20 it was teeming with rain. I had no jacket but did remember my brolly :T
    2. Good supervision - have been tearing my hair out with statistics but it seems i am doing ok and 'keep on keeping on' is the order of the day
    3. Back home in time for lunch, cheese and biscuits with an apple. Quick and good.
    4. Took DD shopping for food and knickers!! Spent lots of money and not much of it was on knickers... :rotfl: DD bought her own knickers but needed me to drive her as DS has our car in ICT - if you see him Frith, remind him to bring my bike home... :rotfl: Bought lots of store cupboard stuff not easily got in small german supermarkets.
    5. Cooked lentil shepherds pie for tea - was yum. then OH and i watched the first episode of the Bodyguard (him pointing out all the things wrong with the train scene!!:p ) Second one tonight for us.

Have a good afternoon / evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    PK sorry for your loss.

VJsmum I better not watch the bodyguard with DH then.

    1. Quiet day at work. Did manage to write birthday cards and then sent them on the way home.

    2. Started to paint the kitchen woodwork yesterday. It was all rubbed down first.

    3. Chat with DS1 on the phone. He is busy at work which is good for him.

    4. Yes from freer which was tasty.

    5. Coffees with colleague at work.
  • Wednesday & Thursday pleasures

Dry for two days with a bit of sunshine :) but very cold last night :( so had to put a fleece on :( - I try not to put the heating on until November :rotfl:

Two foxes now stroll (separately) down the road in front of our house. Don’t know which one gets the little treats that DSis puts out at about 1:00 a.m. :D

Tonight will be 3rd night of Ha*ry B*kers Sausage Casserole  as I have no space in the freezer :(. DSis is fending for herself ;) as she is not a fan :D

Heard from my dear friend which was lovely :) as I was intending to phone at the w/e as she works - unfortunately it was sad news - her mother passed away last week.

Finally got off my ‘arris & washed down the soffits/fascias & garage door :T - only been on my ‘To Do’ list for 3 months :rotfl:

DH is on his way home :T he has been out on his motorbike doing his Round Britain Rally & was away overnight :( . Phoned to let me know when he hoped to be home & has not been rained on + treated himself to a 3 course meal last night :rotfl: He gets one course from me :rotfl:

Being thoroughly entertained by the antics of our very bold pregnant squirrel & a young male squirrel :D Costing us a fortune in monkey nuts :rotfl: & DSis is fed up of sweeping shells off the decking :rotfl:

Generally just feeling happy with my life & thanking the heavens that I am so fortunate when so many people are struggling.

    A beautiful sunset - lovely pinky/red sky

Reading your posts - especially house elf’s re the knitting needles :rotfl:

    Have a good night everyone

  • I'll see if I can come up with five for today -
    • Used up 250gms of Minced Beef from freezer / mixed frozen peppers/onions / cheapie mushrooms / tinned toms / 'soft' cherry toms / herbs / tom paste to make tonight's tea. Minced Beef and Veg Chilli that made 2 meals for now + 2 extra for the freezer :j
    • Two loads of laundry washed and mostly dried on the line outdoors
    • Had a lovely conversation with a friend who lives a distance away - she needed cheering up and I think it worked for both of us!
    • Had a sort-out of the 'mini-freezer' - chest freezer will have to have one of its own :(
    • No heating on tonight - cardigan is on and fleece throws are 'at the ready'
    • No Spend Day :j

    My Thursday pleasures.

No builder day...aye! That would be the huge delivery of insulation at 8.20am that was booked for tomorrow...me just about to jump in shower. Hanging out bedroom window saying I'll be down in a minute! Text to builder to say it was here Text back...its not supposed to be! Anyway they came, they moved it. I hope no one was too late for work or school with huge lorry filling street.

Walked to my mothers. 'Don't go in the kitchen' as I'm about to go in the kitchen. I wished I'd never went in the kitchen. So much stuff.

Took Haggis a nice walk . Picked more blackberries. Building up a freezer stock of them.

Went to visit my friends mum. Was rather fun.

Home ,means just making chicken pie when Haggis' ladies came strolling by, so in they came for a visit, three mad Labradors.

Then in came the niecelys so that was fun too. As we ate our chicken pie.
    They'd already eaten.

    Quick doggy walk.

It's been dry all day and the sun came out this afternoon and felt quite pleasant around 4pm.

Moved (with the rather ungracious help of son ) fridge freezer into living room, shelves into living room then we became stuck at trying to move dresser into living room. To high for doorway. So it's in the dining room. There's not really space in dining room. It's causing me much distress! The area of kitchen they were on is about to be sliced/ dug up to allow for drainage to be fitted as I'm moving kitchen around. Waaaah! Seemed like an excellent idea.
  • Hope tomorrow goes a bit smoother for you, mhagster :j
  • Thank you for the comments, it means more than you know.
House Elf, ah the wonderful Costco.

1 The birds have found the feeders again.
    2 Various washing loads cycled.
3 Started some long research and inspiration.
4 Cooked up leftover snorkers, some in a roll for lunch remainder was casseroled tonight.
5 We just did a lidl shop and between that and the freezer stock we can live to avoid a Mr T shop for another week.

I haven’t achieved too much of todays in my head to do list.:o it will still be there tomorrow well if I write it down this time.

    Thursday pleasures,

Bacon and tomato for breakfast, needed as energy to cope with...

Trip into town of gown for shopping trip, pretty low down on my list of favourite things to do but Capt S desperately needed some long sleeved tops. Thankfully it wasn’t too busy and we were soon home.

Small dog ridiculously pleased to see us after just 2 hours absence and run around the garden with favourite toy in mouth.

Time spent with horsey pal, did a bit of Le Trec type exercises which she loved, ears pricked and totally concentrating on what was coming next, precious girl.

Watched new series of Upstart Crow which was very funny.

PK Sorry to hear about your little one.

    Yesterday

    1. Listening to the starlings talking to each other as I collected a trolley from the trolley shelter in A.

    2. Neighbours wedding celebrations.......yesterday the grooms side set off in a horse and carriage with a cavalcade of sports cars, including a red Ferrari. (At the same time......I was not pleased about the traffic chaos it caused. My car was blocked in the drive. Then when they all came back, they set off industrial grade fireworks in the middle of the road!) what will today bring!

    3. When the wedding party departed, I collected work friend. We went to visit a house and garden, and had tea and cake afterwards. Our last treat, as neither of us looking forward to the return to work on Monday.......sad, because we loved our jobs, before our old Head retired. We used to be a family, now we are just a business. :(

    4. Cuddles from friends pets who we are feeding while our friends are away.

    5. Nearly finished the second series of Unforgotten.

EBay sales have just reached 3 figures as I type :j

    Have a lovely day :)
