    Greetings all!
PK - I'm so sorry & hope an oldie helps.
Frith - my lad went to the graduation to catch up on the gossip - it wasn't a Major Thing for him but I was intrigued! Hurrah reclothing the 5'9", and happy holidays!
House elf - I too have ebay parcels to send. It is satisfying! Ah, Costco...
Olliebeak1951 - my absolute sympathies with photo organisation. If t'were done, t'were well t'were done right the first time as Shakespeare should have said!
mhags - argh labythinthitis but awed at progress, moving library, cs wins, feeling like neon signed & "the rather ungracious help" - ah, the joys of parenting the mummy manuals omit, eh?
BoP - I'm sure your are a lovely soul & assisting BoPsie with her foundation garments without unsought comment? (Worst thing about an arm in plaster is wrestling with a bra strap. I can put up with being incapacitated pretty well but not being able to dress myself was infuriating.) May I suggest a pack of hair elastics to make fastened things fasten with less fuss/two-handed effort?
LaineyT - happy horse trials & may you get event discounts galore!
VJsmum - taking DD to buy food & knickers - admirable parenting & priorities.
MrsSD - I too have been excavating & issuing fleeces!

    OS Pleasures recently
Tomorrow I'll be flying! As a passenger, for the first time in 20 years, so I'm a bit twitchy - the rules have changed a little & there is much potentially unexpected. The autism on aircraft videos filmed at Belfast city airport are really helpful though! [As were All the staff both at Manchester & Belfast bless 'em!]

I used to believe that "may the road rise to meet you" was a biker's curse. I only realised it is part of a Celtic prayer when it was said at my uncle's funeral. With the blood & gravel & pain drawn out of the old memory, it's a lovely prayer & I'm delighted to have two tea towels with it for my mother & aunt ready for Christmas.

Tell you, the family concierge service is taking a mild hammering. One son wanted informed advice on a new camera, another his Amazon parcels collecting from a neighbour & just now son wants us to run him a bath to save time getting to his gf. I laugh as without tech this would all be do much slower & more complicated.

A long time ago, I sat in a plane & scanned the tops of clouds for God. I never saw him & was disappointed. Today I see his work & comfort my bewildered inner child. [Sorry this post is wildly timeloose]

Insulin dependent diabetic has new inappropriate catchphrase "I ain't afraid of no toast."...

Oh my. Re-watching the Queen set at Live Aid 1985. Recognising the trainers, blasting out the music & my son thinking I've lost it singing back to the TV... What a happy way to go, though!

I've begun to collect borage seeds from my plants. Not enough leafage to crop for tea yet but it's looking hopeful. I don't know about it's mystic talents for "For peace in the home, tranquility in the family, and calm in domestic relationships" nor yet whether it's effective as companion planting with spinach tomatoes & legumes but the blue flowers do cheer the onlooker somehow!

Roaring with laughter at Serena Williams' tutu - and mildly envying her a sartorial team that'll go to those lengths. Frankly awed at her prowess, let alone her compression garment couturiers'.

"I can't ram it in while it's too hot!" [eloquent glance] "she ain't normal." My son says the sweetest things... While my husband cooks a Really Delicious stew.

A child said thank you unprompted. He'd run out of loo paper & with bro's gf in the house wasn't going to yell the traditional fraternal imprecations - but a text message & a loving mother saved his evening!

A nice receptionist & a nice pharmacist & my working lad will have All his pills sorted for tonight. Quite how he managed to run short I don't know but bless them all at the health centre! Brother opines he's been getting "married iguana from the grannies" - an idea that has my imagination headed across counties...

MrsLW is alive & well & Has Moved!

A colleague recalls my lad's old folks home from her youth as a place where the Methodists sent the young on weekends to learn about drugs. [The evils thereof, how to make them (using plasticine), & the neurochemstry of addiction.] I wasn't quite coherent enough but he's utterly smitten with the idea, and went into work giggling somewhat.

Right. Health, strength, love, courage, reliable internet, promptly returning builders, & extra fleeces to all as have need (along with all the packaging materials & printer ink that ebay doesn't mention) and happy weekend!

    Greetings all!............

Olliebeak1951 - my absolute sympathies with photo organisation. If t'were done, t'were well t'were done right the first time as Shakespeare should have said!......... Thanks for the mention, DigForVictory :).

...........I used to believe that "may the road rise to meet you" was a biker's curse. I only realised it is part of a Celtic prayer when it was said at my uncle's funeral. With the blood & gravel & pain drawn out of the old memory, it's a lovely prayer & I'm delighted to have two tea towels with it for my mother & aunt ready for Christmas ................. I've embroidered this and had it framed for a present for a dear friend - sounds like you've 'had a painful expeience' :(

........... A long time ago, I sat in a plane & scanned the tops of clouds for God. I never saw him & was disappointed. Today I see his work & comfort my bewildered inner child. [Sorry this post is wildly timeloose] ................. - and his works are His Testimony to us :T

................. Oh my. Re-watching the Queen set at Live Aid 1985. Recognising the trainers, blasting out the music & my son thinking I've lost it singing back to the TV... What a happy way to go, though! ............ this was what turned me into a Freddie/Queen Fan. My kids and grandkids have all been brought up with Queen Music as a backdrop ;)!

................... A child said thank you unprompted. He'd run out of loo paper & with bro's gf in the house wasn't going to yell the traditional fraternal imprecations - but a text message & a loving mother saved his evening! ................. :rotfl: - I also still live in hope of a child saying 'Thank You' unprompted ;)

A nice receptionist & a nice pharmacist & my working lad will have All his pills sorted for tonight. Quite how he managed to run short I don't know but bless them all at the health centre! Brother opines he's been getting "married iguana from the grannies" - an idea that has my imagination headed across counties ..................... - this resonates with me (and my daughter. Sounds like you live with 'some degree of ASD/ADHD/ADD' in your life/family (if I'm wrong, you have my deepest apologies for my supposition :o - if I'm right, you have my support and admiration ;) )

Right. Health, strength, love, courage, reliable internet, promptly returning builders, & extra fleeces to all as have need (along with all the packaging materials & printer ink that ebay doesn't mention) and happy weekend!

    Love your post, DigForVictory :T

    My 5 for today -

    1. Another very pleasant day - but no laundry to be done :j.

    2. Going to a Welcome to the New Minister Service at church this evening - so Pot Luck Supper to follow. I've made a Nutella Chocolate Cake as my contribution (our church is providing the 'sweet stuff').

    3. All ingredients for the Cake were already in the cupboard so a No Spend Day :T.

    4. Finally managed to sort out the travel bags from a trip a couple of weeks ago - why should that take so long for me to deal with :o:( . Anyway all are now emptied, tidied away and stashed inside other travel bags to reduce the mountain of bags :j .

    5. Couple of 'freebies' for my Kindle via 'free Ebooks websites' :j!

Edited to add another two -

    6. Met up with lots of lovely people this evening at church - some from other churches that I haven't seen in years! Lovely new Minister is going to have some trouble getting used to all the names/faces - poor guy ;)!

    7. Yet another Freebie for my Kindle this evening :D!

Another day of blooming dizziness .

I've walked round to my mothers three times to feed the cats. Hoovered downstairs, ironed, cleaned her bathroom & did a load of washing. Easier when she's not hovering over me!

Builders ! Incredibly noisy ( sorry neighbours) drilling through brick wall to knock through at start of week. Skip filled with wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of soil from dig out. Unfortunately it was raining all day so everything is muddy.

    Leftovers for tea.

Just tiny dog walks today. But he was reunited with one of his puppy blankets out a kitchen cupboard ( the one I keep doggy stuff in ) so he's been busy schnooking all day.

Architect in this morning. Chat with him. He assured me this is the most stressy stage. Thought it was just me!

Daughter out ! Invited out by new college friends. Quickest get ready ever.she usually takes ages!

Eighteen months today since my lovely husband died.

    Good Morning,

    DfV Another epic post.

    Yesterday

    1. Beautiful weather for being in the garden.

    2. Cut the holly hedge at the front of the house. Not a pleasure, as I do not like being up high to reach the top, but it looks neat for the winter. (DH will take the cuttings to the tip next week).

    3. DH went to visit MiL and SiL. (Took 15 eggs, so egg mountain is smaller). When he arrived. She had managed to lock herself in the porch. She had been there about an hour

    4. Enchiladas for tea, which everyone ate. Salad sprinkled with home grown sprouting beans. Look out Monty Don :rotfl:

    5. Big bonfire of foliage from recent woodcutting. Perfect space, on the spoil heap from the extension. Then, watched Bodyguard, with apple crumble made from apples given to us from friends............Saturday night sorted :D

Hoping for more gardening in the sunshine today. Have a lovely day :)

Lovely day yesterday, I actually got sunburned :rotfl:

    - spent most of the afternoon gardening, largely clearing dead stems and leaves, but it looks so much better

    - Had a little break when it got too hot and sat in the shade doing a crossword and felt thankful it was such a gorgeous day

    - Crazy springer wanted to sit on my knee (my OH lets him when he sits out there, but he's too big for me and his claws hurt my legs) so I said no - and then realised he was on my plant work table behind me trying to find foothold between my pots  - wasn't aware of him jumping up, swear he's half mountain goat! :rotfl:

    - Lovely evening in the beer garden after the cricket match, it was warm but we did notice how quickly it got dark - nearly the end of a long hot season and summer! Will miss the post-match socialising but not the Saturday morning grease-fest cooking the sausages and sausage rolls etc for the teas :rotfl:

    - Looking forward to veg bed planning, and I'm also wondering if I could grow a few winter veg in the gaps in my flower beds - might just fill the post-heat wave bare bits while hopefully giving a bit of almost-free food

    A mix for the weekend

1 It was a long day out yesterday at an off-road event, it was confidence building. I do admit I tend to suffer a tad after but trying hard to ignore it and carry on.
2 DH wanted take out, so we picked something lovely up on the way home, while waiting for the food I was flicking through a local brochure and found a science event I am keen to go to.
3 Very brief catch ups with dads’ best mate, DB and MIL.
4 I had a long to do list today and it’s achieved, cleaned out the fridge, strim and mow both front and back gardens, cleaned up garden chairs, cleaned up our sofa, cleaned the bathroom, washed rugs but ran out of steam there so washing the floors rolls over to tomorrow.
5 I batch cooked some mince up packed with veg, and used part as spaghetti bolognaise tonight, will use rest up over next day or 2.
6 DH took down the massive blind outside the back door and its now in pieces, it was massively heavy, but gravity helped. We have a smaller and smarter upgrade to go on, when the holes in the bricks are filled in.
7 I'm looking forward to a soak later.

Pleasures for the last few days:

    1) Found the lady in Montgomery who bought my violin off me over EBay. It wasn’t a pleasure when she mentioned she might paint it (she’s not had a lesson yet so I hope her teacher puts her straight about that!) but at least it’s found a new home.

    2) Went to the Centre for Alternative Technology where smaller son had his traditional baked potato.

    3) Went to Aberdyfi briefly then had an ice cream in ICT.

    4) Holiday home very smart.

    5) Walked to look at river behind the house and saw a rainbow.

    6) Got a new inner tube for bigger son’s bike from the world’s surliest man!

    7) Went on the beach at Harlech.

    8) Lots of games of Settlers of Catan
