Howdy!
1) Feeling decidedly better than I have been doing recently thanks to a sinus infection.
2) Since I was feeling better have been able to have a nice cuddle with DH without "gerrrofff! I'm too hot/cold / ache all over".
3) DH surprised me with a Reese's peanut butter cup he must have squirrelled away from when we went to the kinema last week.
4) Contacted my college about my diploma and am now waiting for information through the post regarding dates for my practical. They answered the phone very promptly which they *never* usually do.
5) DH offered to go to the supermarket to do the food shopping (a usual Monday activity for him) but was able to send him to the allotment instead as will have enough to last us to the end of the week with fresh veg from the lotty. I love this time of year for that.Vintage loving, allotment holding, low waste living. Indi = DH. Maisie Bones = fur baby
Credit Card paid off = 02/04/2018

Now saving for a house deposit!0 -
The most stunning sunset as I type. The sky is all orange and pink and lilac. Gorgeous.
Nice doggy walk with H and a neighbour and her 2 labs.
Went down to our woods with DD2 and had a lovely walk round with her. Trying to get her dodgy hips used to walking a bit further as we are doing a 10km walk soon. The deer were all sitting under a tree in a huddle. It was back to school day here today and it was if they were all having a sigh of relief! Sat on bench where 26 years ago we had had our wedding photos taken. Had a little sob.
Builder had called . I had left my living room window open when I'd went out so they'd pushed it close. Foundations now complete, filled with concrete...temptation to just put a teeny tiny mark on it somewhere!
Architect popped in so ended up having a good blether with him. May be taking window out of living room and put in patio doors. Waiting on quote.
We had a Chinese takeaway for tea. My anniversary meal.
Managed to get a washing hung out late afternoon and it's mostly dried. Shall just go iron it and hang it on clothes horse. The garden was more of an obstacle course than normal.
An okay day. Often the thought of a 'special 'day is harder than the actual thing. Missed every day but on some days just that bit more.0 -
For yesterday
1) survived (actually enjoyed!) the kiltwalk. Friend and i did the 11.4 mile starting at Tentsmuir, raising money for the cathedral disabled access
2) we got piped off and lots of pit stops. knee started to twinge a little 8 miles in, but made it through ok
3) we finished just after 3 and were rewarded with a burger nom nom. then mrpiano picked us up
4) then gbf came round bearing gifts of left over chili and rice from the church weekend he and dd2 had been on (he's dd2's godfather as well as being the boys' dogfather)
5) then we went round to see dd2's flat. stoodent year 2 looming
and for today
1) managed to get out of bed for bootcamp. won't say i sprang out of bed, but made it up the road for my lift
2) managed 3 squats before realising knee hadn't escaped scot free but trainer is brill and adapted my HIIT
3) which meant while the others were doing 20 squats, 15 dead lifts, 10 kettle bell swings i was doing 20 sumo lifts, 15 dead lifts, 10 swings. tiring but good for the endorphin levels
4) and got my inbox to empty. yay. 78 in action box so that's the next challenge
5) dd2 picked me up and we went to buy sheets for her new flat. we know how to live!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Monday).
1) Not a bad sleep. Have started setting the alarm again so the school days won't be too much of a shock! Though I'm not setting it at 6.50am, that would be silly.
2) Hens well and 3 eggs.
3) Had LO chicken and salads for lunch. Burritos for tea and I've put the chicken in the tikka marinade ready for tea tomorrow. Also chopped up cheap bags of lemons and onions for the freezer.
4) Took a bag to the charity shop (bought nothing) then went on to buy hen food and grit and saw a farmer I haven't seen in years. He is the reason I have one freckly arm - an accident with a goat de-horning tool about 3 decades ago!
5) Got various jobs done. Learned how to transfer money online (hadn't done it before on my new account), made some phone calls, tidied up, piles of washing away etc. Needed to find various documents so bigger son can have a bus pass for his new college so took that opportunity to throw away ALL the out of date paperwork in my large box - old MOTs, tax credits paperwork etc.
6) My brother came round for tea and cake and also to replace some plumbing for me. The drains out of the bathroom used to go across the front of the house just above the front door, which wasn't noticeable when we had a porch, but looked rubbish after we demolished it. So he took the drains to the side at a far more sensible angle.
7) Had a go at the garden while the burritos were warming through, weeding, pruning and sweeping. Saw our big frog. Thought I would move the Chinese lanterns to a more prominent position (they're in a Belfast sink) and found 2 field maples and ?sycamore tree growing in there! Avocadoes also doing really well. About 40cm high now.
8) Watched Who Do You Think You Are.
Smaller son wants to go for a "midnight shop" soon, which is his favourite activity at the moment.
Bigger son has still not reappeared after I shouted at him on Saturday for driving dangerously. It appears that he has gone to NCS today, which is good. I have no idea what he is doing for food or where he is staying tonight. This is my punishment for telling him off...0 -
Good Morning Folks,
Frith #4 ?
Mhags Dog and cat have now got the confidence to cross the bridge to our obstacle course of a garden. Although, with Doggy's history with vet bills, we half expected to find her stuck in the concrete, Scoobydoo style, when we got back from London on Saturday night :rotfl: Glad you celebrated your Anniversary in lots of ways. Very special and lovely.
Yesterday
1. Altered a dress to a skirt and repaired a pinafore before breakfast!
2. Nearly 30 things listed on The Bay. (Supposed to be filling a Charity bag at the same time, but not happening).
3. More cheap wine found in Mr A. :j
4. Microwave Indian curry box for 2 reduced to £3 in the woopsies cabinet stretched to 3 with a curry from the freezer. No cooking, more eBaying :j
5. Watched episode 1 of series 1 of The Unforgotten.........box sets will keep us busy for a while
More eBaying today........have a lovely day0 -
1. Good drive to work but not for much longer as children go back to school soon and the roads will be busy.
2. Seeing the goats down the road standing on top of their house.
3. Spent time in the garden and did more dead heading of flowers.
4. Had a chat with DS1. He is planning couple of things to do which is good.0 -
Monday pleasures,
Up early to walk little dog, lovely, fresh morning.
Busy with clearing washing pile, made two loaves of bread and whilst they were proving tackled Mount Ironmore.
Capt S and eldest home from Nottingham, they resumed their cricket watching from the sofa.
Gave one of the loaves to eldest and he was chuffed, he is struggling with various elements of life at the moment bless him
Over to see horse girlie, bit of groundwork before quick groom and then she had tea.
Watched final episode of The Unforgotten, please, please let their be another series.0 -
Yesterday:
1. Free lunch at work. We get this at least once a month, and as two of the Board members are vegan there is always a decent option.
2. Got a statement through to say we've paid £21,200 of our mortgage off over the last 10 months. That's 10% of the starting balance last Autumn! Woohoo!!!!!!
3. House lovely, clean and tidy when we returned from hols on Sunday night so had no housework last night. Had pre-booked a Morrisons shop with enough food to see us through til the end of the month.
4. Managed to get some sewing done last night. Am making some reversible shopping bags for MIL. Can't seem to get my stitching straight on the handles though
5. Picked green beans and raspberries from the garden last night and FIL delivered tomatoes and cucumbers this morning. Yum!0 -
Don't ever pay too much off the house, because when you hit a stone in the road, it does not act in your favour. Keep a separate pot aside for the rain.
V was trimming inn the gym last night with BoPsie. After the fish and chips at the weakened, now BoP is back beach ready again. Next tour is in only three weeks time, with Reston, DuPont Circle first, and the Times Square again! Don’t forgets we is seeing a Beatle as well! More later in BoP Tour Live! PM2DfV message received, is next month we goes!
4 Tea last night was nasta pasta. Ravioli with home fire mushrooms and pepper, in rich pasta sauce. Wolfed down with gutso! Pasta sauce was not by Jimmy the Cook either, but from the killer Campbell’s. Flavours added to suit BoPise. Strawbs and mini ice cream was also had.
3 Watched the Speedway and had cocoa and crumpet. Hot buttered with marmite! Nice and you know it is. Another packed lunch box today with three cakes of Jaffa. Yum Yum!
2 Night sore tin out the pennies for our holidays. Yes, so ifs yous had all summer off, guess what. BoP tour live coming up! You will no want to miss it!
Having one again today! Suicide cyclist from new mill downstream decides to double cut this morning. Fortunately the big wagon for S is bigger that him. Grazed knee as he came off onto the kerb! There is a cycle path for him of the pavement, but he is big and strong! As their mill is down stream, we can stem the flow of the torrent of water in our sluice.
If you have been affected in anyway by reading the happenings of BoP, please seek professional advice!
You’ll sometimes wander if BoP is talking carp?0
