1) Skype with student at 6:30am. The joy? Not having to put the video on
2) nice autumnal walk into work. The schools are back so the road was much busier
3) learning technologists invites me to have a coffee with them. One taught me how to reset my noodle, one how to tame my email, and one gave me toblerone :P
4) after the lunch time talk and I spent 5 hours applying the method to my horrid inbox. Not quite tamed but a huge improvement
5) mrpiano took me out for a fish supper. I have that Friday feeling :-)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Thank you for the kind thoughts, it is a bit weird.
1 A pleasure to have some closure, it was the last time for us to DF’s house, the old family house, the key word is it’s looking to be a home again, and the sale is going ahead but instead of tomorrow it’s now next week, but no one knew until this afternoon, which is fine as we packed up the car for the last time, took the last readings and a wee look around and left. Left them some old house paperwork and tea and coffee with the ability to make it.
2 We were done quicker than planned so used the extra time after we unloaded DFs bits to travel over the bridge to C0stco very hard to price up things. I know how much it came to but its weird bits that will last a long time and bird food which was cheaper there than anywhere else. But I’ve put it in the budget tracker to see how it works out through the year.
3 Dinner is Costco pizza.
4 I am proud of the fact that I made a normal portion of turkey mince do 8 meals it’s the norm for us now but wasn’t a few years ago, and it’s all thanks to various things picked up over time from the forum.
5 It’s nice to be just sitting rather than travelling, I should be using some tins to tone up my arms but nah sitting here planning to cook big cupcakes tomorrow.:rotfl:0 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday).
1) A lie in.
2) Hens well - 3 eggs today.
3) Went to the cinema with smaller son and watched The Incredible 2.
4) Put up Ikea shelving and it is now under the stairs, freeing up the floor space.
5) Tasty tea - salmon cooked in a sachet of sauce I bought from Ikea yesterday plus roast potatoes, peppers and courgette.
6) After tea I went on the allotment and had a large bonfire and cleaned the hens' sleeping quarters out.
7) Brother in law is home and sister is coping with bags, staples, tons of drugs and general nursing. :-/
8) Bigger son hasn't been in touch at all so NCS can't be too bad today.
9) My friends son got his A levels and is off to the LSE. I only know one person doing A levels this year.0 -
1. Still very quiet at work but in a different location and didn't need to avoid anyone.
2. Talking to someone there normally isn't time to. She has a wicked sense of humour.
3. Mortgage approved to build extension on MIL house. Need to decide on builder now.
4. DH in much better mood and went to pub for a drink.
5. Long chat with DS1. Still managing well and seeing friends and work colleagues in an evening.
6. DS2 played golf with his boss. Boss had put a fake appointment in the diary.0 -
Thursday pleasures,
Rained all morning and colder so jeans worn.
Off to BuryStEd to use Mr Sparks voucher, due to offers already loaded on card we were 6pence under the required spending but I asked if something could be done and lovely man took the £10 off anyway, good customer service.
Still feeling a bit rough so time spent reading on sofa.
A Chorley cake with our afternoon cuppa, suited my Lancs man.
Watched Keeping Faith, just starting to get a tad frustrated with all the twists and turns, it’s almost as if someone told them it’s got to be stretched to 8 episodes instead of the usual 6 and they are now throwing every possible scenario in0 -
Good Morning,
Incredibles 2.......I did enjoy it. Worth waiting the 15 years :rotfl:
Lainey Chorley cake yum.
Yesterday
1. Another mid morning snooze. Still on America time in my head
2. Mackerel on toast for lunch. Too smelly to take to work and DH objects at home, so I have to wait until everyone is out. :rotfl:
3. DS1 and DD seem to be having a jolly time in Greece.
4. Made pork in Reggae Reggae sauce for tea. Everyone cleared their plate.
5. Free drinks! ...........Caffè Nero with reward card after dropping bag off at CS and getting shopping in W8rose, (Money off coupon).......... Then after dropping DS2 at Cadets, DH and I Walked doggie down the canal to pub, for free wine with O2 rewards.
6. Collected DS2 from Cadets and got ice cream from McDonalds drive through. Guilty, but nice. :rotfl:
Why is it, when I am at work, I get a million and one things done in a day, but so little achieved at home in the hols?
Make do, mend and minimise day.
Have a lovely day.0 -
DD - Did not put the camera on! I don't need the threats!
V I know. Wes offs up norff again to appear at the Theatre of Fish tomorrow. PM2DD #UTM. Fish and Chips shall also be eaten and as BoP is beach ready, will be good! Mushy peas maybe consumed.
4 That means BoPsie will be up before the lark as normal!
3 Had ravviolli last night with homemade nasta pasta sauce. Was rite nice with toms! Proper foods and good for you.
2 day I is wanting the dog berger van. I then had a refusal and thought better. Will be having prawn roulette later instead. Good for you just like the sour grapes and cheese role in the packed lunch box today. The cakes of Jaffa don’t last too long these days.
Having one today! Was going to have the dog burger and then though I am so beach ready! Guess what!
Now that is it for the mill this weak!0 -
Morning - or is it artnoon? - all
VL glad your DS is getting on ok
Frith - sorry about BiL woes, may he continue to improve. Intrigued by your sig..
Lainey - get well soon. I liked Keeping Faith (watched it on iplayer and BBC1 Wales), but did watch it over about 2 days so it didn't feel so drawn out...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. yoga - always a pleasure afterwards, seems like a chore before (and occasionally during)
2. nearly finished marking, just couldn't carry on later when i wanted to get it done
3. DIY SOS what a fab girl they built the extension for :T
4. had my hair done - she's got the timing down to a t now so didn't feel so tortuous (I have very thick, naturally curly, hair that can take an age)
5. Fajitas for tea, tried some refried beans with it - they looked like a cross between dog food and diarrhoea :rotfl:. Didn't taste too bad but won't be in a hurry to try again. The rest was yum...
Now completed the first, and biggest, batch of marking - will do the smaller batch over the weekend.
have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Some very unexpected crossed family words I was broadsided and I'm miffed, emotions running high apparently, it would appear DB is also struggling with the sale of the previous family home, but it has been an empty house now for the past 8 months, and he has not been back since the funeral!
So other pleasures!
1 The van is packed and ready to roll.
2 New bedding on ours and other bedding hanging on the line.
3 The smell of rosemary, thyme and a pork joint cooking through for dinner.
4 erm oh lovely neighbour witnessing a document for me, I am very thankful.
5 Just counted our holiday coins, as we had to start again after the burglary and its £178 extra.0 -
Well past my bedtime but my friend had sent a text to ask was I in and yes I was. Doggy & I have just walked her most of way home.
A day of drizzle.
Builders caught me on the hop this morning ! Too engrossed in a Netflix series.
Paid for furniture. It will just be perfect...when I work out how to get it here!
Six tonnes of rubble dropped from a height on driveway!
Made bramble jam, a big apple / bramble crumble ( in freezer) and 2 smaller ones for the niecelys. Also more oat biscuits some which I drizzled chocolate / caramel on .
Went a-visiting twice with them to two seperate friends.
Niece & GN visited. GN was ever so slightly hyper...I've never seen her like that, way too much energy.
Friend came round & had a rather lovely evening chatting and laughing!0
