Pleasures for today (Friday).
1) A lie in.
2) Hens well and 3 eggs.
3) Went to my sister's and had a couple of scones. Played with niece in the garden for 1.5 hours to my sister could do various jobs uninterrupted. I was allowed 10 minutes with the wounded brother in law who was sitting up a bit.
4) Fish and chips from the van for tea.
5) Went to pick bigger son up from NCS. Nice to see him again but what a mood he is in!
6) Gave bigger son his first driving lesson on the road :-O I am very rarely a passenger so felt like I was in the hedgerow all the time (though he actually didn't clip it). We went round the next village twice then drove to mum and dad's. He even managed to drive up their track and reverse back down! He is a bit obsessed with speed so we managed 53mph on the main road stretch. My right leg was aching as it was "braking" constantly!
7) Watched the Last Leg.
Got to be up early to finish my entries for the village show. This year I am entering 2 photograph classes, jam, 2 cakes and a vase of herbs. Ooo, and a flowering pot plant.0 -
Good luck with your exhibits Frith.
Friday pleasures,
Woke up to a brilliant blue sky, although it was chilly.
Capt S is at the cricket on Sunday so bacon butties had for breakfast, crispy smoked back with HM bread and butter, old stuff.
Three lots of washing done and dried outside.
Plaugued by this blooming cough so sat outside in the sun for a couple of hours reading my book, little dog is allowed on the swing seat so she snuggled up.
Watching the sparrow squadron having their communal baths, lot of feather fluffing going on. They then all sat in the sunshine drying off.
Got over to see horse girlie, not a lot done but lots of cuddles and had a good catch up with a fellow owner.
Big bowl of ice-cream, purely medicinal for my sore throat you understand0 -
Token expired for the third time in 3 weeks  so lost my post - will try again

Having a lovely lazy ITV3 afternoon after a busy morning cooking food for the cricket team, walking dogs and picking blackberries. Would have preferred another episode of Morse, but Carry on Cowboy it is!
Picked my Victoria plum harvest - there are only 6 so it didn't take long, and no ladders required :rotfl:.
I dropped one plum and the Demon Pug ate it whole, stone and all.
Last year he came aross a damson tree with lots of windfalls which he ate whole, so I told the family it made for a rather disgusting game of tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor - the kids had no idea what I was talking about, not surprising really, as they didn't have a lot of stewed plums growing up :rotfl:, but it was OH surprised me, he said 'Isn't it tinker, tailor, soldier spy?' and had no idea where the name had come from :rotfl:
A few late roses on my white climbing rose

Saturday pleasures
Another lovely sunny day but still not hot enough for me :rotfl:
Mild panic this a.m. - DH couldn’t find his wallet to pay the milkman  I paid then the frantic search began:j we eventually found it :T:j
DH & DSis went skip diving :rotfl: with the permission of the builders (our neighbour opposite is having an extension & the roof is completely off ) DH has appropriated various bits of wood & loft boards - he is building me a collapsible table for the shed & a waist high raised bed - so I can grow my own herbs:T A new adventure for me as I am/was a strictly plant it & see gardener. No interference apart from watering :rotfl:
Actually enjoyed shopping(anyone who knows me, knows that usually I loathe shopping in any form :rotfl:) but I have a menu plan & am just shopping for the fresh stuff that I need
Watching the three squirrels who all visited today :j Mummy-to-be squirrel is brazen :rotfl:comes to within 18” :rotfl:
Snorkers, mash, onions & baked beans for dinner :drool:

Bedtime.
It's rained all day but felt quite mild when I just did the last dog walk half an hour ago.
Went in to town for a bit this afternoon . Parked at supermarket & walked down & then back up! Got petrol.
Got a few things to put by for Christmas gifts in sales.
Was just taking H out on his late afternoon walk & we met his old lady friend & her daddy. So we walked with them then showed them the building site. Both dogs bemused as to where the garden has gone! (me too, dogs!)0 -

Pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) Up early to finish my entries for the village show. Made a Victoria sponge - not happy with it so made another. Then a courgette cake. Also entered 2 photograph classes, vase of herbs, jam and pot plant. Got a 3rd, 2 2nds then a 1st for a photo of smaller son and former smaller cat!
2) Good to speak to uphill neighbour at the show (2 doors up).
3) Hens OK and 3 eggs.
4) Bigger son drove (!) to work.
5) Took smaller son to football where his team won 5-2.
6) Dashed to get my hair cut while both sons were out.
7) Painted the soil pipe outside the house (grey plastic but has always been painted black). There was a big patch of grey where it had not been painted because the old porch used to be up against it.
8) Had a phone call with my old school friend.
A nasty set-to in the car when bigger son decided he knew best - it's all speed at the moment with no definite control of the car... The last time I shouted was the unveiling of MrN back in 2011... but I shouted and screeched this afternoon when bigger son refused to accept instructions, motoring on instead of holding back behind 2 bikes until we lurched to a stop about 30cm from the back wheel of one of them. I imagine bigger son's ears are still ringing. He was dismissed from the driving seat and I took over, to the bemusment of the motorists behind us.0
