3. This glorious weather
4. A Nanna Nap in the afternoon.
5. A good old chinwag with the in-laws this evening.

Pleasures for today (Thursday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Dropped bigger son off in town then stayed there for an hour until he needed picking up. Went round the charity shops and had a cup of tea.
3) Bigger son and I strimmed (then raked up the grass) all around and inside the chicken pen.
4) Took up all the old wood chipping area in the garden and flattened everything out ready for some weedproof membrane then new gravel.
5) Curry for tea from the freezer.
6) Just finished watching First Dates.0 -
Good Morning Folks,
Wrote a really nice little post yesterday, but only previewed it. Didn’t press submit.....
Wednesday
1. Made paper planes with Year 9 class, then had a competition to see who’s went the furthest. Don’t tell anyone, but it was fun!
2. Nice meeting with parent and student in the afternoon.
3. Took mouldy loaf back to Mr W. Got 2x my money back for the inconvenience.
4. More coupon shopping in Mr W
5. DH away, so went to bed early to catch up on this thread, but fell asleep!
Thursday
1. Late for work, but proudly carried in some plants, so if challenged, I could say I had to buy plants on the way in.
2. Planted up our entry for the ‘Meal in a Barrow’ competition at Gardeners World Live. A group effort which ended in me and my TA having to take control. :rotfl:
3. Lunchtime with very funny colleagues. :rotfl:
4. Only me and DH for tea. We had chicken in bacon, roast veg and roast potatoes. DS1 went to McD after cadets. Everyone happy.
5. Cleaned the cooker top. Always makes me happy.
Raining already
Have a lovely day0 -
Morning all
Had a few cr*ppy days work-wise so it's good to remember all of the little pleasures too
1 Lovely book club meeting last night, great fun saying who we all imagined playing the characters in the book we'd read - maybe not high brow but great fun :rotfl:
2 It's Friday
3 My courgettes have flowers appearing
4 Got a couple of YL miniature roses from Mr T for £2 which will go nicely at the front of my hot border - a lovely yellow and a peachy orange - and it came out of the food budget :rotfl:
5 It was one of our dog's Gotcha Day so we had great fun seeing all the old photos coming up on Facebook memories - he was sooo cute! :heart2:0 -
Hopeless case please make sure the miniature roses will remain small. I planted one and it didn't remain small and created new rose bushes.. I dug 4 rose bushes up and replanted round the fence as part of a hedge and it looks lovely but about 4ft high and 4 ft wide when left.
1. Enjoyed walk to bus and the dog i normally see allowed me to throw a stick for him. The stick was dropped at my feet. Quick chat with the owner.
2. Walk home and another chat with another dog walker whom I hadn't met before. It was a lovely day for a walk.
3. Spent time in the garden and watered with the hose pipe. The smell was gorgeous when I watered the lavender
4. Found chicken Kiev in freezer for DH tea as I didn't want to eat and DS2 had his lunch when he arrived home as he forgot to take it to work.
5. Chat and a laugh with neighbour when in the garden.
6. Sitting in the garden enjoying a glass of wine with DH.0 -
Thursday pleasures,
A stock shop, cupboards now have something in them and various bargains popped in freezer.
Finally! made up my baskets and pots, don’t know why I have procrastinated for so long but done now and garden looks good. Frith snap, only Capt S was lifting gravel under herb garden to lay membrane which we stupidly left out when originally done.
Catmint Nepata in flower and covered in bees, smells wonderful and good job no cats around!
My rtc Sweet Williams still going from last week, refereshed the water.
Watched RHS Chatsworth and the the footie come on, the usual optimism abounds but those who know rate our chances of winning at 4%, that high!!
DFV the E George book is Just One Evil Act, haven’t read any of her stuff for years but good stuff.0 -
1) Lovely long chat on the phone with DD1 last night, she and lovely James have bought a tent and are taking it out for its first excursion this weekend they are also taking James two young lads for their first proper night under canvas, much excitement in the air there!
2) Hilarious video footage of the Grandpickles last night sent to the mobile phone, they were having ice cream cornets for their tea and chatting to daddy while they ate, I've never seen so much chocolate goop on small faces but it was hilariously funny!
3) He Who Knows has gone fishing today, he's apprehensive about finding lakes when we move that are as nice to be around as those here where the wildlifes are so confident that even the water rat will climb onto the toe of his shoe if he's still enough, I'm sure he'll find nice places but I hope he enjoys today too.
4)We got one of the fitted book cases down yesterday and I'm having a stressful but necessary sort out of my cookery books. I shall be taking some down to the village book bank when I've decided that I actually can part with them.
5) A day to myself and the chance to go through some of the kitchen drawers and also discard things I've kept because they 'might ' be useful one day. It will mean a smaller removals van which will be soooooo good!0 -

Ooh I hadn't thought of that! They were sold as indoor roses and I think they were meant to be a throwaway item, but that doesn't mean they won't keep growing if planted!
I also noticed when I got home that the original label under the yellow one said 'indoor rose in ceramic pot', so no idea what happened to the pots but too late to do anything about it now and they were very cheap..... annoying though as I always need pots0 -
V At mill in my full flannels on a FryDay. I know, but we has new stoker to grill later and I need to make sure I can put a breathe of fire into them! Usual rules! Always lands on me for Fryday!
4 Watched cricket last eve, and Warster wun. That will be someone happies round here in the parish. Cheese of near nan was chewed on as well. That proper Poacher from Ulceby!
3 Anyone wandering about why it is raining BoP is having his car washed. So there! Usual rules!
2 Nite BoP is probably hasing a games evening. More later. BoPsie remains only one win away from the chance of two on the bounce.
Having one today, tomorrow BoP is in Devon for cream tea, a steam and more! He is probably just beach ready! Enjoy!
And with that BoP off for the weekend!0
