For today
I tried sleeping with just a sheet over us last night and I couldn’t, I need the weight of a duvet, so today I popped the duvet back in.
Wash loads in and none out, mainly due to the fact I’m spending all the time with Rhubarb and CBA with wash loads today.
Spag bol for dinner, and DH even asked what I was cooking up as it smelled lovely.
A rather lazy Sunday.

For yesterday,
A lazy start after not getting into our beds until 1.30 am!
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Some deadheading and gentle pottering around the garden, time to slow down and actually enjoy our space.
Belly laughs as we are rewatching W1A.
Late evening walk around the garden and the male blackbird was in the highest branches of the old apple tree, singing his heart out.

For Sunday.
Up early.
Pottered about in garden.
Had a little visitor but she slept so no cuddles.Went to the CP mid afternoon. It was absolutely boiling inside. We had had a teeny tiny shaded walk on the way up. ( without a brace so really teeny tiny)
Was chatting with my nice CP neighbours.
Monday.
I was out walking at 4.45am. Just me on my own, dog had been out for a quick wee and then his breakfast and then I went a sunrise wander. And it was beautiful. Saw a deer 🦌 at the bottom of the drive. Came back and we did another teeny tiny little walk.
Went for a swim at 9am. In for about 45 minutes.
Hot shower. Then power washed the decking.Popped to next village for some supplies.
Read for a wee while.
DD2 and The Baby visited.
Then I had to head back home as was picking a friend up for an appointment ( which I’d almost forgotten) so quick stop on way down drive to do a teeny tiny walk. I had attempted to put on a brace. Neither I nor the dog were being very gracious about it and it was too hot to argue! So we did a let’s pretend we are actually out in the garden! Did what he needed to do and had a good sniff at all the sniffy bits.
Home…chucked him in and headed over to friends. waited whilst she was at her appointment and then dropped her off. Stopped in at DD2 to drop something in to her and had a cuddle and a nappy change!
Stopped in at supermarket on way back and got 2 lovely bunches of very RTC flowers. And hello doggy! I am home. Yes it is warm. Yes your tea is a wee bit later. Let’s have a cuddle.
And bed…a wee bit cooler at front of house than the back and a teeny breeze coming through! Tomorrow is another day which is going to be busy! I am glad I have had a bit of just me and my dog time over the weekend.
I’m going to read.

We had to take Rhubarb to the vets, he’s on antibiotics, but goes in tomorrow for an ultrasound and other possible things, in all honesty for ferrets if its not various heart meds, then its steroids, but they want to see what’s going on which obviously makes sense.
There’s been “stress” house cleaning, which I expect I will carry on tomorrow.
We will be eating from the freezer for the foreseeable, so today I have grilled up some chicken breasts, using up leftover coleslaw and the last of the salad.
On the above note, I’ve picked up an Olio bag tonight, it was perfect and walking distance is always handy.

oo @ampersand they look amazing! Just enjoyed a wonderful weekend with DD2 and her fiance. Didn't take my laptop so joys for the w/e
- Travelled down with DD2's cello. Lovely lady at the ticket office recommended I go for A52 on the LNER and had empty seat next to me so cello travelled in style. and who should be across the aisle but the super friend, a notary now living in Aberdeen, who notaried (is that a verb?!) my divorce papers with compassion
- As he was headed to the airport we both got off at Haymarket and he helped the cello alight (a word reserved for train travel?) - met DD2 top of the stairs and she carried her cello to
- their new house - first time i've visited - we sat in the garden with a cup of tea before going for a very nice Italian in Stockbridge (my treat so not mse but very tasty)
- Saturday we couldn't get into the castle so we went to Gallery One where I bought a book of Edinburgh walks then we did the (longest!) 10.5km walk along the waters of Leith to the canal pool
- and Sunday Eucharist at St Marys then lunch then home on the bus (as no cello to worry about)

For yesterday,
Another cool start which was very welcome, off to the emporium for food shop. Did find some e”rtc pears which are now snuggled up with the bananas to hopefully ripen up.
On to the GC to pick up more salad seeds plus a French marigold to sit between the tomato plants. Two oregano plants also jumped into my trolley!Home, planted them out plus the marigold and seed etc, moved some Verbena which had been decimated while we were away, hopefully it will prefer its new home. Just bending to water seeds when felt a ping in back, oh dear.
Got over to the yard and managed to do all that was needed but painkillers taken when I got home.
Made a tomato tart for tea, will be enough for lunch leftovers today.
Extra one, Monday quiz night is back and we tested little grey cells with UC.

Hello…was glad to get up after a rubbish sleep.
Work first thing.
Popped out to meet a friend for a scone and a chatter at other end of town.Dropped off a vinted parcel on the way.
Quick home to see to dog then round to see my girls for a couple of hours. Nice walk there and back and of course cuddles.
And home to do some more work! Zoom call.
And then sat in garden for a wee while with my book but may have nodded off for 10 minutes!7 -
Evening all.
We are back from our jaunt but yet to catch up on all your pleasures so hope everyone is ok.
Total chaos before we went - hubby broke a tooth which the dentist can't get out so has to be referred to the dental hospital and I got cellulitis in my leg as a result of some nasty bites so, in view of the fact we were going away, the doctor very kindly put me on a double dose of antibiotics. Did the trick but felt pretty grotty and still have a red and swollen leg though not as painful. So all of this meant we had to delay our holiday by two days but have managed to re-book those days for later in August. Just as well really as son and DIL were delayed by two days getting back from Cyprus due to technical difficulties with the planes. Always something!
Some pleasures:
- We finally managed to get away for part of our holiday at least. Gosh, it was hot and I was hobbling and hubby was on soft food only but in spite of all that we thoroughly enjoyed what we did manage to do.
- A very special day at Farringford on the IOW where my mum and dad spent thir honeymoon 75 years ago. A lovely place with a wonderful walled garden. Felt very close to them there.
- Handed the boys back to my bairn who finally got himself back from Cyprus. Have agreed the older boys can fend for themselves when they go away again in September as the boys are now 'grown up' and really don't need grandma cooking and looking after them so just little fella to look after from now on.
- Just back from evening two of the school's end of term production of Oliver. Little chap was the Artful Dodger - will say no more as I know I bore everyone to tears with how wonderful he is but awwww!!! Bittersweet as he finishes at this school on Friday so we said goodbye to the school and the headmistress who reminded us that she also taught the other two boys at primary school so has been connected to our family for the last 16 years. It's been a joy and a privilege to be so involved in our boys' lives but they are growing up fast.
- Another evening at the theatre tomorrow night when we go to see Summer Holiday, The Musical - nice and lighthearted for a summer evening.
Right, tea is ready so will love you and leave you for now and catch up tomorrow. It's a bit cooler and a bit more bearable where we are, hope you are keeping cool wherever you are.

Rhubarb was an absolute star, docile as anything they did the ultrasound without any sedation. It showed a large mass attached to an organ. We’ve said no to surgery, as it couldn’t give the quality of life. To make sure they could get the right meds they needed to take bloods but had to give him a whiff of gas for that, he’s fine thou. Currently lording it up showing off his new summer haircut. The bloods will help for the right meds. I don’t think we have long so we’re going to spoil him rotten which is nothing unusual 😊
1-5 He’s home.
6 Dinner is homemade curry courtesy of chicken leftovers yesterday, however I worked out it may have been triple carbohydrates with leftover new pots chucked in the curry sauce, and naan courtesy of Olio.
7 The house is clean for a few mins.
8 An animal wash load is hanging out, there’s a hot drink and the last bit of a book to be lost in calling.
