5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

it’s all a bit rinse and repeat at the moment as we deal with the dog days of summer,

Early morning watering of garden and picking what is ready, this is usually done around 6am and I’m still in my PJ’s so good job we don’t really have neighbours!

I did enjoy a facial from lovely eldest niece, essential oils and witchy chat, perfect.

Then over to get my big girl in ahead of temperature peak, walking through the barn there are at least three horses asleep and snoring in their stables.

Usually the food shop is like an episode of supermarket sweep in its speed & efficiency but I’m tending to linger more at the moment to make the most of the AC.

At least the evenings are cool and we can enjoy eating our meal outside.

Warm here but in a nice way. Not too hot.

Up early.

Walked to supermarket at 6.30am to get eggs and came back and made a pavlova, some lemon curd and prepped a fruit crumble using leftover fruit that was in the freezer.

Out to work this morning. Lovely family but oh it’s so hard when people are just devastated.

And home…briefly, sat with my visitors for half an hour in garden then out to get some bloods taken. As long as I don’t see the needle I’m okay.

Then went to charity shop. Had a mooch and got two nice long wooly jumper dresses in the sale rail for £1.50 each. They both look new. Just want you need to buy on a hot day!

And every blooming red light all the way through town. Grrr…until supermarket. Managed to get a fair bit RTC or on special offer. The niecelys had arrived before me. Sister and BIL. And a dog who wanted to where everyone was but he was doing too much walking in between.

Anyway I was in kitchen…cooking. Made sausages. Salad. Rice. Different breads. Dips. Pavlova. Crumble. All yummy.

They left. ( niecelys ) and I did a bit of work…just wanted to get a framework started.

Very brief chat to friend ( needed a moan so sat in the back seat of car 😆) for 5 minutes.

Been out and watered front garden pots and will hose the back garden in the morning.

Did have a wee quick baby cuddle this afternoon. Had dropped some stuff off for DD2 but had to head back home. She’s still not very well wee soul.

1. & will call successfully signing in to mse from Town of Gown bibiliothèque an osp. It's not far from Bank, where replacement card has still not arrived, but kindly sit down and renewed icy water did. Thankyou J.
2. Day 13 hobbling. More X-rays etc, still awaiting MRI date, all ongoing.
3. Such a great midweek Communion yesterday, where we were nearly all crocks in some way or another. Then J had an epileptic episode just in front of &, with her maman alongside. Nothing like the last one, DG. It all felt very much 'a suitable gathering', even more heightened afterwards over coffee and biccies. All sorts of chance Good happened.
4. Checking on P and J in Spain, after fire news. They're coping, 38⁰ and decent breeze, but out delivering replacement outdoor soft upholstery covers this arvo. Still a worry......
5. Pleasurable exchanges with NZ friends who stayed with & and are massively supporting, hoping for Count Binface, as does &.

Ok, deliberately not wearing surgical boot thing today and ospers won't tell. Bad &, but managing. Will end day up on Gog Magogs, then cool shower+bed. Worked last night.

Another ok, as have now caught up with previous page. PK - whatever has happened with you?😯

Pleasures for today (Friday)

1)Not the worst sleep, considering the riduculous temperatures.

2) Missed coffee morning as there are no windows there, and did bits of admin instead.

3) Went to Sainsbury's cafe with smaller son to pay chess.

4) Second mum and dad were there so we had a chat.

5) Made a tray bake with chicken for tea.

For yesterday,

Joy of getting up after hot & uncomfortable night to have a cool shower.

Cleaned the bathrooms while it was still relatively cool, consider it an achievement just to keep the house ticking over!

Over to see my pony, fetched her in and hosed her down as already hot, luckily the new hosepipe ban won’t apply to care of livestock.

Easy evening spent outside, kept eye on the Roses cricket match and yay the Reds won.

Chat with friend about how he’s going to care for his allotment with the ban, glad my veggie growing is on a smaller scale.

Good morning, here’s my yesterday!

Up a wee bit later than usual. Did doggy stuff…out, feed, meds.
Then set up at the table for working before it got too warm. Finished writing my first draft of a service and sent it off.
My visitors had left ( hurrah) and I got beds stripped and bathrooms emptied and got lots and lots of washing done and dried.
Walked round to DD2 after I’d finished work. Then we walked back round to mine.
Didn’t get much done as wee one is fractious and just not feeling right.

Had leftover pavlova and then had a bit more as DD2 doesn’t like strawbs so I got the bit with those on it!
Made a salad using up what was left from night before.
They all went away about 8pm when SIL came after work.
Got my downstairs all back in order. Hoovered. Washed floors. Sorted kitchen.

Watered the garden. I really want a wee half an hour to myself today just gardening! Just half an hour! see if it happens!
And a lovely big chat, moan, chat to my friend till very late!

And for Saturday.

Up early but not too early. Doggy stuff.
Then popped out to pick up a Vinted parcel at town supermarket and do you need anything to DD2 so dropped that off at her…a few cuddles later and home.

And just the loveliest afternoon with just me and my dog. Sigh! Much needed. And pottered around the garden. Weeding and cutting back. In and out.

Read for a while and have just sat and finished the book.

Even had a wee afternoon snoozette! It’s been a while!

Had the last of the salad stuff with some veggie pakora for tea. Some very RTC grapes.

Friend popped over with some rhubarb and a chatter.

And I’ve came to bed nice and early ( last night was very late)

For yesterday,

Woke early to a cooler & grey morning so we both got stuck into some much needed gardening, two hours done before breakfast.

Both the roses and wisteria are on their second bloom and the honeysuckles are peak flowering so garden smells amazing.

Afternoon at the yard, young fellow owner needed a shoulder to lean on as he has relationship problems so girlie munched on her hay while we chatted, don’t mind being the Nan of the yard ☺️

Home in time to watch Mr Butler’s sublime innings.

Treat of a takeaway then a long evening before the footie even started! Worth staying up for though and England progress 👍

& is useless at putting the surgical boot on. Takes ages, but persisted . Maybe wasn't entirely correct, but will admit that last night was less painful.

1. Loved Vicar's report re: grandson in school play as Fiddlesticks the cat. Asked if he has much to learn, answered, 'Just 3 lines.....'
Vicar: 'That's not too bad then.'. Grandson: '....and I know them already! Miaow, miaow, miaow.!' 😁🤩

2. A cooler start. Am I really posting that?🥹

3. Kiwi🏉& deliberately listened to round⚽ball last night and was pleased England won.😃

4. Didn't spot emporium overcharge in time yesterday. Today, was given full refund and yesterday's😋free. Protested, but was told tills won't balance otherwise. Doubt that's so😄, but Thankyou emporium.

5. These 4 cleverly made🌻placemats, £2 at Nexus, Lainey. Have you been there yet? Know exactly who they'll go to, too.😀, 🫶🏏👌👍
